EVEN LOOKING AT THIS GAME IS WASTE OF TIME!!

SERIOUSLY THAY MADE THIS 2007?!? COULD HAVE FOOLED ME! U WALK ENDLESSLY, TALK TO PEOPLE WHO SOUND COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THEN THEY APPEAR AND DO NOT SAY ANYTHING NEAR INTERESTING, AND I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO EVEN QUIT THE GAME WITHOUT PRESSING CTRL ALT DEL. IM GOING TO THROW THIS GAME IN THE GARBAGE AND ADVISE EVERYONE NOT TO DONATE ANYMORE MONEY TO THIS RIDICULOUS GAME COMPANY!

Disappointing

I'm up for a good adventure as the next person and I do enjoy exploring new and interesting places, but I'm afraid that this game leaves a great deal to be desired. While the pictures are pretty, it does nothing to help the fact that the directions are confusing and I was constantly getting stuck trying to figure out how to get to the next part. There are things you have to do that you have no idea to do them because it's never pointed out that you need to do it and there's no one to ask for hints or help. This is the only game I've ever had to find a walk through for and it left me feeling very disappointed in not only myself, but in the game. I do NOT recommend this game unless you like the feeling of frustration.

Hated It

I did not like this game at all. I don't like communicating with still pictures. There is no direction for you to follow. You could wander around for a long time not knowing where to go and what to do. This is one of the worst games I have ever played.

This is the worst PC game I have ever played. I'm very suspicious of the "reviewers" up here giving it 5 stars. Don't waste your money on this pile.

Not spectacular, but the pictures are pretty

I have to agree with another reviewer and say that I can't believe this game was made in 2007. All of the scenes are still pictures, even the sequences where someone has a long dialogue they simply change photos during the scene, and sometimes the pictures don't actually line up with what is being said (some sequences seem to be a frame ahead or behind what the dialogue is) there is no real action other than perhaps something pops into the picture or water appears to ripple.

That said, the story line is interesting and the pictures are beautiful. If you're nostalgic for an old style adventure game and aren't looking for fantastic graphics then this might please you. Being able to use the map to jump from place to place is a definite plus I just wish there were more jump points because in some cases you still end up walking and walking through still photo after still photo.

Also, my game had a glitch in it and I had to upload a patch (I have windows XP, don't know if the game has problems with other operating systems or not). Once the patch was loaded the game worked well, didn't stall out on me or act up.

I Must Go There Someday

I loved this game! This game is not just about going from point A to point B to solve a puzzle or find a clue. It is also about the journey between. This is not an action game, far from it. The game's platform is not based on animated graphics, but actual photos of the beautiful island of Capri, Italy and its inhabitants. People who would most appreciate this game are people who would like to travel and learn about different cultures, their history, mythology, and experience the local flora and fauna. Yes, I would say this game is for older audiences who would more likely appreciate walking through pretty villas or on the many nature trails, with the birds singing in the background, and enjoy the incredible views. Although this game is listed for 10 years old and up, I think someone more mature would better appreciate and understand certain portions of the game, such as the Philosophical Park. So, those of you that thought this game was boring, give it to your parents, I bet they'll love it. I sure did, in order to escape from a stressful day at work. With all that said, the game is still plenty fun trying to solve the puzzles and the mystery of the Obsidian Disk. It switches back and forth from reality to a dream state, hence the interesting characters you bump into such as talking animals, mythical characters and ghosts to name a few. There is a walkthrough available on the homepage that I found very helpful and a relief not having to dig through hundreds of posts in a chat room or buy a strategy guide just to get a little extra help. Note to Vista users: If you are unable to hear the characters speak, there is a fix on the homepage, simply download Screenshots Pack 2 and click on the monk. One of the game's developers got back to me with this solution within 24 hours, impressive! Finally, I was delighted to find a game for mature audiences that had nothing to do with violence. The island of Capri is certainly on my top 10 places to visit someday.

NOT for the HARDCORE adventure gamer. If you liked A Quiet Weekend In Capri and were left wanting more, then that is what you'll get here. My wife, who has never played a video game ever liked this game as it was easy and had alot of "pretty" pictures. but even she got bored with it after a while and she stated she would rather go there than to play this game. I likewise lasted about 2 hours before the game became too monotonous for even me to play. Let me preface this by saying that I get bored with most games where you have to retrace your steps over and over again screen by screen with NO shortcuts to a location. If you never plan on going to Italy and want to see what it would be like, then maybe this game would be for you. And it is a great improvment over its predecessor, just like Runaway 2, this game is a great disappointment. not a total waste though. The dream sequence idea is kinda cool and there is more interaction/dialog than the previous if you can pick this game up cheap, then go for it, otherwise look elsewhere.

Dreadful

Other than the fact that it takes up a ton of HD space, this game could have snuck out of the early 90's. The menu screen looks like something from an old DOS game. Navigation is through ENDLESS screenshots with hotspots (thankfully you can have them marked or this would be worse). You bump into people and they talk and talk and talk until they advise to walk all the way to the other side of the island

Ana Capri the town looks like a beautiful place, but this game is just plain dull. I highly discourage purchasing this game

Love the game's graphics and history of Capri...but the puzzles are impossible without a walkthrough. If you love travel shows you will enjoy the beauty of the images, for sure!

Wish I would of read the reviews first!

What were they thinking when they made this game! Should of read the reviews before I purchased the game. If your thinking of getting this game, think twice, you will hate it, unless you want to look at someones vacation photos! The box is very deceiving, looks really fun, but it's really not up to todays standards at all.
