You wouldnt want this game. It has a weird tactical battle style that is really weird. Its nothing like a real fighting game and its not real-time. First you are on like a board-game type screen and your team and the bad guys just stand there and do nothing. You click the character of yours you want to attack and you can move them a certain amount of spaces and you attack the monsters and this weird screen pops up and you have no clue whats going on.
I would reccommend getting a real time fighting game, this game is so fake. not only that its very hard and long.
Not a great rpg, dont waste your money

I enjoy "tactics" games. Taking your time to develop strategy for certain situations. Developing your characters to fit those strategy needs. I love that stuff!
That is why it is SO frustrating when game developers choose to create a game with good gameplay and then RUIN it with DISASTROUS storyline/dialogue! And this game is the "poster child" for poor dialogue/storyline!
Where do I start? Ridiculous dialogue with no sense of appropriate tone or character presentation. Comically inappropriate facial shots that accompany the dialogue. A story line that sucks beyond all conception. Voice acting that was so horribly hearnest that I wanted to poke my eye out every time it interrupted the gameplay! (And, by the way, why do these idiots insist on having women read for the boy parts? Anyone?) And the presentation of all this is the worst factor! The dialogue goes on for HOURS!!! And you can only skip over the last couple words of each sentence. You are FORCED to listen to this stuff with no way to skip over it!!! OMG!!!!
This game would have been pretty good if they had done 2 simple things:
1. Get rid of the voice acting altogether.
2. Allow people to skip over the onscreen dialogue.... QUICKLY!!!
That way, those that love stories about little kids saving the world and falling in love along the way can get that stuff while the REST OF HUMANITY can enjoy the game!!!!
This isn't worth 5 stars..

If you liked Disgaea.. Then don't buy this.. If you didn't like Disgaea.. Then don't buy this.. If you haven't played Disgaea.. Buy Disgaea.. If your rich and liked Disgaea.. then you should buy it..
Simply put.. Disgaea is better in ever way.. Better graphics, better story, better gameplay, better replay value..
If you have Disgaea there is no reason to degrade yourself by buying Disgaea Lite..

This game is not advertised that much and I only knew it through looking through rpg's that just came out. However La Pucelle is a pretty unique game that follows tactical strategic games such as final fantasy tactics. Storyline is okay, monsters are cute, almost feel bad for killing them, playtime is almost endless. I didn't get to finish it yet but I would recommend it for anyone who loves RPG's and willing to try out tactical games. It is a long game though, and has a twist in the middle. I personally chose "japanese" sound version because i felt like i was reading a storybook when i chose english. pretty good game overall.

La Pucelle Tactics is the second Strategy/RPG game from Nippon Ichi Software for the PS2, the first being Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, also for the PS2.
In La Pucelle Tactics you play Prier, a young orphan raised to follow the teachings of the Church of the Holy Maiden. You start her adventure with her younger brother Culotte, and sister Alouette as Prier begins her long battle against the forces of darkness.
Before each battle you get some story progression and some slapstick humor. One of the coolest features in this game is that you can capture monsters by purifying them, once captured they will join your side. Another feature is you level up your weapons by causing chain reactions by purifying the colored squares that can also do some major damage to your enemies. There is a Dark world that gives you some great items, and some exclusive monsters only found there. The game has multiple endings, hidden bosses, and loads of items that will keep you playing hours and hours on end. After you meet special requirements, you can even capture boss monsters to do your bidding.
I have played over 110 hours and still haven't seen all the endings, and I can't stop playing it. If you want an easy, fun game that has a fun and engaging story, you must play La Pucelle Tactics.
Are you still reading this? Go on and start playing already!
On a 1-10 scale, 1 being throw it out, 10 being must buy, La Pucelle Tactics scores a 9.5!

This game is very good. You could buy item or equipment hat would help you in you journey. this game also lets you train monster that you obtained during your travels or whatever. Since it has the name Tactics you might know what kinds of battle system they use to fiht enemies.this game is quite easy and has a fast leveling system . This game starts with a girl named Prier the main character, Culotte, Prier little brother, and Aoloutte, Prier and Culotte's teacher. this game could be fun if you like anime very much. Good Luck!!!

La Pucelle Tactics is the first strategy rpg I've ever gotten. It's really fun to play, but it also takes a long time. I love the graphics though, even if they're little 2D sprites. The Area Maps are awesome, and I love how you can purify enemies and do miracle attacks. It's funny how you can train the monsters though. xD
I don't really like the music, or the fact that on Field Maps you can only go left and right, but hey, compromises must be made. This game is great, but if you're new to rpgs in general ((not just strategy ones)), I'd recommend something else.
a big set back

i bought this game because i loved disgaea (another game from this games company). i ordered this online and was so happy the day it arrived in the mail. i was so excited, i had heard all kinds of cool things about it on the internet and in magazines. when i stuck the disc in, the bad graphics didn't really hit me at first. the story was that same wacky stuff most japanese games have, and the battles are okay. but i was so used the the fast paced fighting (well, as fast as a strategy rpg can get), that this game battle system just seemed archaic to me. i mean, the navigation is basically the same, moving from square to square on the big grid map, trying to kill off your foes. but as soon as i went to hit an enemy, i found that every time i attacked, the game had to "zoom in" on the battle. it turns to a side-scrolling view and lets the characters go at it. it was a neat idea at first, but after a while, you just start to wish your guys would just freakin' attack the enemy without the need to zoom in. it's just irritating. then i got a little further into the game, to a port city, where i found out that the game would have looked dull even as a first-gen ps one game. then it started to get pretty hard, almost unfairly hard. all of a sudden i was getting my ass kicked when i'd been trotting along so well through the rest of the battles. i'm not saying i don't like the occasional challenge or mind-bending task, but cheap battles and deaths just aren't my thing. so with bad graphics, no-fun combat, and a boring story, La Pucelle: Tactics is a hit or miss. if you like terrible graphics and boring gameplay, you'll like this. but if you want something i would like to call fun, get disgaea: hour of darkness. it's a much better game.

I'm really surprised no one has written a review on this yet.
I'll keep this short and sweet. Tactics games are hard to come by. Good ones are even harden to find. I personally think think game oozes with character. I've been playing it frantically for days now. Read official game reveiws to find out more on this one but I say: If you loved Disgaea: Hour of Darkness (all 8 of us by what sales says) you'll love this one. Same universe... same makers... same quirky dark humor. I say "Get it".... all 8 of you
