Jak3 continues where jak2 left off. You need to save the world again.
The cut scenes are brilliant, almost the same class as you would expect from a Pixar movie. Seriously. The characters expressions and movements are meticulously designed. The game graphics are good, but not Ratchet&Clank class.
Load times are negligble, which makes this game a blast to play!
[I spit on ported PC games. A console has limited external storage bandwidth, which needs to be taken into consideration.]
Jak&Daxter isn't a weapons game, but there are some new weapons, but more importantly, a Light Jak mode. As Light Jak, you can do some flying stunts.
Some of the missions are carried out by Daxter.
I was surprised that The Naughty Dog team has reused some of the older maps from the previous game.
Jak2 was quite hard to finish, but Jak3 is short. I think I finished it under 10 hours.
It's a lot more violent than the first installment.
Even so, it's a good game. It has less of the "go and get that please"-type of missions than the predecessor.
There are some cute minigames within the game. The one I had the hardest time with was a pacman clone! :)
If you like this sort of game (action platformer), also check out the Ratchet Clank series and Kya: dark lineage. The latter has been underrated.
Jak 3 is a golden game that rates up there with the best

Jak 3 is a nice conclusion to the precursor trilogy made up of the last three games (although Naughty Dog is insisting that there will be more jak & daxter games following a different storyline). What I like most about Jak 3 is that, like the last two games, it delivers a great storyline and great gunplay (speaking from a realistic point of view, otherwise I'd be focusing on the Ratchet & Clank games). The additional platforming game elements and GTA-style free roaming and mission-based gameplay make this a terrific all-around game.
The free roaming is not a new element in the Jak & Daxter series; Naughty Dog first incorporated the style into Jak II, the game which took the series in a whole new direction. However, they?ve taken a smart step going into Jak 3 with the worlds: either making them not as large or put more stuff to do in them. Anyone who?s played Jak II knows that the world was very large and did not feature enough stuff to keep you entertained while traversing the cities the game took place in, which is a huge factor like anyone GTA fan will tell you. In Jak 3 there is constant combat-related entertainment wherever you go and optional mini-games along the way that will keep you entertained. My favorite example of this new addition is in the desert wasteland that becomes Jak?s new home (don?t worry, Jak II loyalists, Haven City is alive and well? err? well, alive anyway). While traveling across the humungous desert in your dune-buggy there are constant enemies known as Desert Marauders that you can take on, if you wish. There?s an endless supply of them to keep you entertained for as long as you wish.
The gameplay itself is a combination of the last two Jak games. The combat from Jak II is back, and along with it is serious platforming elements from Jak I. You use these to solve all of the missions you are assigned. The combat is seriously fun (although it can?t quite compete with Ratchet & Clank). Jak has some neat looking cowboy-with-an-attitude gun skills with his shotgun, machine gun, and rifle, making it a show to go in and blast the snot out of enemies. Like its predecessors, Jak 3 has good zoomer (futuristic motorcycles and cars) sequences that are more entertaining than what was found in the previous games, and there are whole new driving levels with the dune buggies out in the desert wasteland. The driving physics in this game are incredible and offer some seriously fun vehicle combat scenarios with Desert Marauders. (or anything else you might find out there?) Jak 3 also features mini-games of sorts that are (for the most part) really fun to do. There are some computer hacking games that resemble both the similar mini-games found in Ratchet & Clank and the old-school arcade game Pac-Man. There are gun galleries like in the last one, although you have a bit more motivation this time around seeing that this is how you upgrade your weapons mostly?
The storyline in Jak & Daxter is really awesome. It?s basically Final Fantasy-depth with some GTA-attitude and a healthy dose of Ratchet & Clank-style humor. It sums up the story of the Precursors, mystical beings who created Jak?s world. It?s pretty fascinating and I recommend this game to anyone who?s played the previous two games for that alone. Also, there is a good amount of plot twists and very nice character development (most noticeably Jak) to keep the story going good and strong. The story is fleshed out nicely through beautifully-animated cutscenes that offers the GTA-style attitude and Ratchet & Clank-style humor. It?s all wrapped up wonderfully.
Jak 3 is one of the most visually impressive games featured on the Playstation 2, right up there with Splinter Cell, Final Fantasy, and Grand Theft Auto. Like I said earlier, the animation in this game is just fantastic and nicely done by the people at Naughty Dog. Unlike most PS2 games, Jak 3 features graphics that are almost always very smooth. The game runs smoothly at a high framerate. The physics engine in this game fulfills its purpose nicely. The driving physics and the rag-doll physics are top-notch and also are really easy on the eyes.
This game also features some great audio. It supports Dolby Pro-Logic II, which a really cool surround sound system (at least for the PS2, I?m not sure if other systems support it). The sound effects are all authentic-sounding and are in place. The music is pretty good. Still not exactly the best I?ve heard, but it seems to have improved over the previous two Jak games. The voice acting in this game is just brilliant. All of the voice actors bring out their characters' personalities and emotions very well, bringing them to life. That's great considering some of the dramatic parts of the game's storyline.
Jak 3 overall is a fantastic game that will keep you entertained for about twenty hours, not to mention the extra time if you want to try and find/unlock as many precursor orbs and secrets as you can. A great story, terrific graphics, huge open worlds and neat-looking gunplay are the ingredients for a golden game, and Jak 3 delivers.
Fun characters, solid gameplay, TOO MUCH RACING

J2 set a new standard for game versatility. It had racing, shooting, action platform, puzzle, jetboarding, and strategy. Every kind of gameplay was represented and that was what made it stand out. J3 on the other hand is 75% racing. Since I'm not a huge racing fan, it hurts the game a little for me.
Don't get me wrong. The game is fun, and judging it on its merits alone, it deserves 4 stars. But I had expectations that simply were not met. J3 is a victim of its amazing predecessor.
The storyline isn't as strong either, and the final revelation about the Precursors, while cute doesn't fit with elements of the previous games. But that's not important, and if the game was more fun, I'd easily forgive the story problems.
I do recommend it. If you like racing, you'll probably enjoy it. If you don't, you'll probably still enjoy it, though not as much. But it's just a bit of a letdown.
Awesome Game!

Jak Three is one of the best games they have released for the Ps2. It's not a copy of Ratchet and Clank which a few people seem to say in thier rewiews. In R and C you get completely different weaponry, and acctually you might say the Ratchet and Clank has copied this game becuase the newest one has four upgradable versions of weaponry just like Jak 3. If you've played the first one or the second one, think about a totally different game. Jak 3 has none of the kiddy charecteristics of the first one. Additionally if you've played the second oneyou arne't a bad guy living of the streets in everyone's opinion. The game has totally awesome weaponry like the vulcan fury upgrade which lets you swing around in a flame arc and torch your enemy into peices. Another thing about Jak 3 is that the story line is intriguing. Until the very last moment one is hanging on to who the precursors really are or who is Jak really. The story is like a trilogy quite unlike R and C where you can play the third one without glancing at the first. Also in Jak 3 you get to play these awesome missions as a robot, or flying this cool ship. If you compare Jak 3 to halo you'll notice that you don't have to drive the vehicles, someone else does that. In Halo it's boring how you drive a warthog, and the marines get to do all of the fun shooting. Jak 3's weaponry (sorry have i already talked about that) is the best on the planet with home ing grenade launchers and high tech laser machine guns. On the bad side, you can beat the game rather quickly if your a veteran player and some of the upgrades for the weapons don't make any sense. For example the sniping blaster weaopon get's an upgrade which let's it shoot these drones which shoot everything. Even though you can switch back to the original this is kind of not the thing you would expect. However BUY THIS GAME IN THE NEXT MILLiSECOND

Jak 3 is an awsome game. I mean you get 12 guns, and you get 4 or MORE off road vehicles and as you proceed through the game Jak gets some krunk armour. I haved played Jak 1 and 2 about to be 3 and I liked every single one. Their great reader you need to buy this game, if your a true gamer you will buy this game.

Jak 3 is a game to go down in the history books! I've read all about it in magazines and it is going to be awsome. Now Jak has a light eco to balance out his dark eco. The light eco has healing powers and whatnot, but don't worry, you can still turn into the rampaging dark Jak. And with Daxter and Pecker along you know it is going to be hilarious! It's a must buy!

INTRO.
Jak 3 is the ending to the Jak and Daxter trilogy, and I have to say that it pulled it off quite nicely. There are a few flaws in the game, but nothing major. You start out as Jak, now an exile from Haven City because of people who distrust him and his dark powers. He is taken in by the people of the Wasteland and the story continues from there.
GAMEPLAY
Once again, Jak moves very fluidly and nicely and has the exact same controls as the last game (except for certain new powers like Light Jak). And, once again, the animators have done a wonderful job of making lush, detailed landscape and characters. Sunsets and sunrises are done well, and nothing looks cut and pasted on to the walls, like Spyro-era games. I like the way that in this game you get to move between Haven City and the Wasteland. This way you get even more terrain to explore than in the last game. Additionally, you get control of Light Jak powers! I thought this was a nice twist and a nice way to add in something new for the people who enjoyed the Dark Jak option. One thing that personally irks me...they took away Keira's voice actor! She barely speaks and when she does, it's not the same person. At least the other Keira had a role! also, the ending felt a little dragged out and towards the end of the game, I was just hoping that it would finish soon instead of prolonging it with more crammed-in missions.
PROS & CONS
Pros:
1. Nice characters
2. No glitches so far
3. No loading times
4. Detailed landscape
5. New powers and old: Dark Jak and Light Jak
6. Good switches between areas
Cons:
1. Blasting people or monsters over and over can get annoying.
2. The ending seemed to go at the pace of a SNAIL.
OVERALL
A nice finish to the series! If you bought the first two, you'll most definitely be drawn to this one anyway. :D
U HAVE TO BUY THIS GAME!!!!

I am a HUGE! Jak and Daxter fan! I bought the Jak 1 for my friend for his B-Day. We played it all night. I was Hooked. The next day I went out and bought it. I played for hours and hours. I beat it the day I got it. Then My PS2 broke. I was so mad. Then I bought a G-cube, and X-box. I heard that Jak 2 was being made. So I traded my G-cube and X-box for a PS2. Just for Jak 2. I beat that about seven times. I wanted a new Jak and Daxter so bad. Then I heard about Jak 3. I was in Heaven. The city was still pretty afraid of Jaks Dark Powers. So not even Ashlen could stand against the city counsil. So they send him to this wasteland where the "stronger" metal heads survived. Somewhere along the way Jak picks up light eco and is now able to turn into Light Jak. You can upgrade your favorite weapons into three different modes.(Imagine the third mode of a PeaceMaker!) Awesome. Also there is again vehicles for your transportation The Hover board is gone and in the beggening of the game Pecker joins you. Then leaves. (...)
Great Game But Beat Jak 1 & 2 first

While all the jak games are exellent it isn't the same without beating them in order. Yes Jak 2 is hard but it reveals so much about jak 1. Jak 3 does the same for Jak 2. Beat them in order so it dosen't ruin the story for you. The story is exellent better than Ratchet and Clank's. I like the gameplay better than R&C's too. Jak 3 game is the 2nd Best jak game in my opinion. Jak 2 is definatly the best jak game so far. The Precursor Legacy is over but the Jak games are not. There is some news about a Jak 4 in the work's. This game has more guns than Jak 2 and less fustrating missions. This is the Best RPG on the Ps2. By Texx
