Hitman:Contracts is wayyy underated-why,its actually the BEST Hitman game yet.
Its a lot more violent than the previous titles-which is how an "Assaination" game is meant to be,Just look at Manhunt for example that game is quite cool-yet its bloodie and violent as its a game about "Killing".
These games are rated M for reasons-GTA is rated M,Metal Gear Solid is rated M and so on.
The games quite cheap too,so if you are looking for a fun thrilling, stealthy killing game than try the Hitman games-Hitman:Contracts being the best!
Hitman comes 2nd in my faverite stealth series after Metal Gear Solid.
bye.

this game is by far the best one out of the hitman series, the story line i sweet, trying to hit your targets is the best, in this one you get to stab your people in the spine, slit the throat, stab in the chest, put them on your back to choke them more than before, you get to use a syringe to knock out the people, I mean this game is the best assassin game in the world, I love killing inocent people more than the targets, becasue they run and you get to start the hunt. its mainly the same as the 2nd one, but the maps are waaaaaayyyyy bigger, there are not as many missions as before, but the huge maps backs it up. you have up to 5 targets at once in one mission, i mean its a rush that is awsome, blowing people away with a sniper or a magnum, dragging there dead motionless bodys to non seeing area. you can play it the silent assassin way or just play it as a total phsyco path and just kill what ever moves, it is awsome. you can kill dogs, they come after you, you can kill horses. even the targets hunt you if they know you are in the area. I think my faverite mission is where he target is in a hotel and you have it find him, but you have to give up your weapons becaue you walk threw a metal detector, witch makes it harder but also fun, you end up sufficating the target if you play it right with a pillow while he sleeps, and get out of there while you can and then just kill the cops and get your weapons back, hitman contracts is the best, right now, I have 2000 kills total on my file and 2015 inocent people killed, it is worth the money, if you do not buy it, at least rent it, it is awsome and extremley actictive, you will never want to put it down, I never did, I loved it to death
a huge improvment

hm contracts is a massive improvement over silent assassin, the graphics can now be classed as good, great even, i was impressed with the rain and snow effects and the textures are of a much higher quality, particular mention must also go to the improved polygon models.
the levels play like a greatest hits album, no pun intended, i have to say i liked the missions alot, they are all well chosen
and mostly well designed. my personal fave is traditions of the trade where you feel like you are blending in with your surroundings posing as a hotel guest. Beldingford manor and the final level are runners up in excelence.
there does seem to be quiet an influence from films here:
hitman trapped in a hotel beseiged by swat: leon
shotgun in the rose box: terminator 2
family hunting people: hardtarget
abatoir nightclub: blade
not that its a problem though.
there is a whole new arsenal or weapons you'll never use because they are not silenced but the guards have to authentically armed
and we like lots of guns. although some of them disapoint, i don't think the ballers are as effective as before and the micro uzis have such high recoil your aim is pointing straight up after about 20 shots and i doubt people can survive 4 shots from a .50 caliber revolver but they can here.
However the modular sniper rifles that can be taken down and hidden in a brief case are a mint feature, i love the way 47 puts the case down and cerimonially opens it up and pieces together your rifle of choice, the WA2000 is a great rifle, so smooth and quiet.
my biggest gripe is the AI, while it all functions ok its the fact that some of the guards are so techy and up tight they blow your cover and start shooting for no reason at all, this is the soul reason for me failing a mission, because some psychotic tosser pulled a gun and went loco at me for no reason at all other than i was walking along disguised as a guard. my god that pisses me off but at least you can run and not face the death penalty for it.
other than that its a great game, i've completed it with silent assassin on every level on expert mode, so it is easier than hitman 2 but superior in pretty much every way, if you like hitman 2 you'll love it even more, they should'be any reason for this to be deemed inferior to silent assassin.
Best Hitman game(until "Blood Money")

Hitman:Contracts is my faverite "Hitman" game, its not a full sequel to Hitman 2:Silent Assasin.
What i didn`t like about Hitman 2 is that it was slow-paced,you had to press L2 to actually run,and was VERY difficult to sneak up on a target/guard.
The graphics are improved, although when you go into FPS mode-Agent 47`s hand and gun look AWFUL!
You have more freedom now,you are no longer forced into sneaking around, you have the choice to run with the gun,or snoop around hiding in disguises,You have more options which is also good news.
The game has high amounts of blood and gore,Not to mention more deadly weapons,Making H:C the most violent game in the series yet.
The missions arn`t 100% new either-some of them have been took from the original Hitman and bought to PS2 updated.
(aka "Traditions Of The Trade")
All In All-Hitman:Contracts is the overall best game in the series-maybe "Blood Money" will be better!?

When I first wanted to buy this game I was really excited that it was going to come out. Then I rented it and then I realized I was right to be excited. This game is alot more than just a shoot em' up. Some qualities that make this game strong are it's kickass graphics and runningtime. It is a long game and will keep you occupied for
along time. Another thing that is cool is the ability to kill your target in different ways. For example being able to kill Franz by locking him in a steamroom and killing him, in 'Traditions Of The Trade'. Also poisoning the drinks and killing your targets in 'The Seafood Massacre' , ' Traditions Of The Trade'and 'Beldingford Manor'.This game is one of the best and is alot better than Hitman 2. So go out and by it right now!!
Fun, but a little too short

The reason I enjoyed Hitman: Contracts so immensely was because of the fact that thought, stealth, and careful planning were needed to complete each mission satisfactorily. The Hitman series offers a stealth/shooter gameplay that deviates from the regular and unfortunately common linear, shooting-fest type gameplay. (Medal of Honor, Half-life). In Hitman, you have the option of gunning through each mission to get the job done, but the game won't be satisfying at all. Instead, you are encouraged to use your imagination and wits to find ways to carry out the perfect, silent hit on your target without leaving a trail of destruction.
What also makes Hitman a great game is the variety of ways in which you can kill your target. For example, there are direct approaches (Sneaking in and strangling your target or taking him out from a distance with a sniper rifle.) and there are "indirect" approaches (poisoning your target's food and having the target's butler serve it to him.)And these are only a few ways in which you can carry out your missions...
Graphics are spectacular; characters show hauntingly lifelike movements and gestures.(especially when they turn their heads to look at you.) Not to mention that ragdoll physics were also incorporated into this game.
Sound could be better when it comes to the shooting of the guns, but the sound of your victim drowning or suffocating at your hands is awesome.
Overall, Hitman: Contracts is an awesome game. The only reason I gave it four out of five stars is becuase the game was somewhat short. Also, its dark storyline and grotesque murder animations mean it's not for the faint of heart.
Get this game if you enjoy challenging, sophisticated gameplay, and not single minded frag-fests.
By far the best Hitman game yet!

This game beats the other Hitman games in every category. It sounds better the graphics are just plain out awesome even for todays standards. Even the gameplay itself improved. This game is not for people who get frusturated easily. Trust me. This game gets very hard and confuseing. You'll end up finding yourself getting killed a lot and you just plain out don't know where to go or what to do. The levels have incredible detail and are very well made. You can interact with more objects now, and you get a nice variety of weapons that weren't displayed before in the sereis. So overall the game still remainds extremely hard but if you have the time and patience get it. Because you'll get hooked in the story line and lost in the backround. If you liked the other hitman games then you'll love this way more.

I was a huge fan of Hitman 2 and spent many days very well entertained by it. Thus, once Contracts came out I rented it on opening day and very soon realized I should have bought it if I had the money. Aside from the noticeable improvements such as the first person view and the new sneaking controls(thank god) there is one aspect of Contracts that is simply amazing: atmosphere. The whole game has been toned down for a much darker mood which certainly seems more fitting to 47's occupation. In H2SA you had all sorts of levels take place outdoors and the lighting was just too bright. Killing Soviet guards in a snowy St.Petersburg seemed like a jovial passtime. By contrast the "siberian" level in this game is vast and filled with blinding snow and howling winds. You can almost feel the unbearable coldness of this place. Well thought out, EIDOS.
Although the levels are highly detailed there's really too few of them. This is probably why Silent Assassin seems easier to attain than in Hitman 2. Nevertheless, after having beaten the whole game on SA I liked going back and discovering other ways to accomplish the mission (which didn't involve bullet-carpeting the enemies).
Overall, a great game that improves on Hitman 2's shortcomings. Well worth the late return fee =)
Lacks the length of first one, and not much improvement

I own and still enjoy playing the first Hitman on PS2. Contracts is not much of an improvement. In fact I like the controlls more on the first one. The game is a good sequel but not great. Rent before buying, and if you like the first one then definitely rent it.
interactive, interesting and violent!

This game is not for the weak minded, although the graphics havn't improved much from Hitman Silent Assasin there still as smooth as silck. The weapons system has changed to, there is a smaller selection actualy in the game but you can acess bigger and better weapons in the trainig system which can later on be aquipted. The only downfall of this game is the plot, it shows a promising story at first but later on you start to get miss led and have more and more trouble piecing everything together. The best part of this game would have to be the levels, each has a new unique feeling as well as missions. Overall if your a fan of any of the Hitman games you'll love this one and should buy it!
