Great game

Not as easy to control as the PSP version but still awesome. The only game I wanted for the Wii. My kid/wife plays all the mario crap and I play Manhunt 2. My gaming lies with Xbox 360 which is a way better system.

Not for kids, teens or adults, just kind of sick and that's all

Maybe I'd rate this game "just for adults" if it had some interesting gameplay and wasn't just appealing to a sick mind. I guess we can hope that the existence of this game will keep a few frog rectums free of firecrackers by occupying the time of people with those sorts of hobbies. That is about the best I can say for it.

I will read game reviews a little more literally in the future, as I thought the negative reviews on this were just hyperbole. What's so mind-boggling is that some group of people thought this kind of stuff needs to be in the world, and put their energy and money into developing it.

My husband loves it

I bought this as a gift. It came quick as promised for a timely gift. My husband loves it.

Manhunt 2

I picked this game up a while back for the Wii, without renting it. Big mistake. This game lacks in just about every aspect possible.

First off, the controls are not that responsive and at times, the character would stop and look as if he were being cautious and the only way to break that was to shake my controller, causing me to swing my weapon. This caused me to give away my location. Being that stealth is a big part of this game, this was a major problem. Combat was pretty flawed. You'll find yourself swinging the controller and getting no response. The stealth kills are not anything to make a big deal about, which seemed to be one of the game's selling points. For the Wii, they were all edited out and they make no sense. Even if they had not been edited, it would not have made this game the least bit more enjoyable. Now don't get me wrong. I am a big fan of horror/gore, but I would not put up with this game's horrible gameplay for some petty gore.

Secondly, the graphics were horrible. I felt like i was looking at a badly made Playstation 2 game. It looks like they just went with the bare minimum on this game. I felt like I kept wandering off of the map to the places that were neglected by developers.

I can't fully comment on the story of the game, being that I never finished, but what I did encounter of the story was just not captivating. It did not suck me in at all. Escape from a mental institution, kill bad guys while trying to regain your memory, hide from more bad guys, and then, kill them! Hooray!

It feels like they were just trying to push the envelope with this game, not actually make a quality product. I'd be ashamed to have created such a game. They can't blame it on having to edit the game either because there are plenty of other elements that hold this game back. Stay away from this game unless you just like killing people. And that's when I would recommend therapy.

Honestly, you can't sell this kind of junk and get away with it.

The Wii version has several bugs in navigation and in loading. The navigation bug happens sometimes when you start the game and the wii controller gets mis auto-calibrated. The loading bug is horrible, and the screen freezes while the next enemy scene is loaded, which takes away the surprise, interrupts the gameplay and will wear on you the 8th time it happens within the first 15 minutes of the game.
Also, the game is specifically about violent executions, and it blurs them all out, almost completely. With no real violent cut-scenes, play control that's worse than Castlevania I, and long periods of no-action "sneaking" (who doesn't want to sit in a shadow for 5 minutes waiting for a CPU to walk by?) I can't remember a worse game for the Wii. And there have been some awful ones.

Good, but lacking any replay value

This game features some intense violence and gore, but does not focus entirely on that. It is a stealthy action game that involves hiding from a group of enemies and slowly trying to find your way around them (usually means killing them). The story and acting is the best Ive seen in a game, so if you really enjoy a good story, Manhunt 2 in definitely worth it.
But if you like the original Manhunt, you may be a little dissappointed in Manhunt 2 mainly because there is no bonus levels and no rankings on the levels, meaning when you beat a level, theres really no point in playing it again because you cant even try to beat your last time or anything. I did like the new weapons and new execution types, but since the game got filtered, there is no point in trying to do the most gruesome execution, which was another replay value for me in the first one.
Overall, a good game and story, but since theres no replay value, its really only worth renting.

ehhhhh storyline, excellent controls

Well, I got this game thinking that it would be a great killing spree kind of game. With violence and the whole bit. It's sad to find that this game didn't show the violence action that I was looking for. The blurred out scenes made it hard to follow the cruel executions because you're trying to read the controller's instructions AND trying to focus in on what's going on. It's almost impossible if you're not used to the controls yet.

The storyline is about the only thing that is keeping my interest. I can see where the storyline is going but playing this game feels like watching an action/horror with the action part missing. It's pretty sad.

The graphics of this game is alright, you can see they really tried to integrate a somewhat realistic game with the wii's compatibilities.

All n all, it's a solid game but it's missing a few things fans would love.

Finally here, for better or worse

Rockstar is no stranger to controversy, which Manhunt 2 garnered much of when it was labeled with an Adults Only rating not too long ago. Now, Manhunt 2 is finally here and carrying a Mature rating instead, but don't think that this game has been watered down a whole lot. If you played the original Manhunt, you'll feel right at home here as you play as escaped inmate Danny, who is on a mission to seek the truth. However, as the title of the game implies, you've got some trouble approaching on your tail in the form of hunters, who are looking to do some harm to you, which is saying it quite lightly. As with the first game, stealth is the name of the game, and it requires quite a bit of skill that proves pretty rewarding once you get the hang of it. The execution moves serve up ample amounts of blood and guts as well, even though a blurring effect has been added to the most violent scenes of the game. Manhunt 2 isn't without it's flaws though, including the fact that the game isn't really all that suspenseful compared to the first game. The atmosphere remains eerie, but it just feels like there's something missing here. The music and sound effects are well done, but the graphics engine looks incredibly dated. Gameplay wise, the stealth tricks work wonderfully, but the gunplay elements are rather disappointing in terms of style. The story is pretty engaging though, and it's good to have a gritty and adult-themed game on the Wii, no matter what controversy develops. All in all, the controversial Manhunt 2 is finally here, and it's definitely worth checking out, but whether or not it's worth adding to your library is entirely up to you.

Interesting controls

The long awaited game is finally here... and to our surprise, at least for me...it has lived up to its hype. I am not done with the game yet but so far it definitely has been fun. This is not a game for someone who is not patient as you will be in stealth mode many times...but that's the fun part, when the time is right you will enjoy the kill that much more. Environmental kills are pretty sweet too using toilet seat covers, circuit breakers, giant rollers, manholes, hanging an enemy and a coffin of spikes ala Saw, Hostel. The only downside of it is if you can through the not so great graphics and not nearly as smart enemey AI, as they get stuck on walls and sometimes walk right by you. As for the controls...they are fun to perform your executions but of course as everyone has heard blurrs out most of the execution. You can still make out what is going on but sometimes you are too concerned about what the next gesture is that you don't notice what you are doing on the screen.
