metal slug

metal slug is a real classic and is looking very good on the neo geo pocket. The graphics are nice and so is the gameplay. The replay value can use improvement by making the story more in depth. You do get to choose new characters depending on how you pass it. The game is also a little short as you can pass it in one sitting. But it is enjoyable for the time you are playing it but after you unlock the new characters there's not much left to this game. This game would also benefit from link cable compatiblity as most metal slug games are two player games. The animations and different varieties of guns and vechiles are fun but I recomend to try before you buy.

an arcade classic in the palm of your hands

Just like its older brother, action games on the NeoGeo Pocket are few and far between. Metal Slug seems to fill the void nicely. The graphics are nice and the music is translated flawlessly from the arcade counter-part. This version also sports a ton of new levels and gameplay challenging enough to keep the most rabid of fans on their toes. However, the game is not perfect. Some parts of the game are so difficult to complete that I found myself pulling my hair in utter frustration. Metal Slug can also become a bit repetitive as the game progresses, with the same shoot, jump, shoot, duck tactics played throughout the game. Though hardly perfect, Metal Slug on the Neo Geo Pocket is an excellent diversion from all the fighting games and fans especially will appreciate this portable title.

Great fun!

I am a teenager who grew up on videogames, and I get TONS of them each month. So when I say that this is one of my favorite videogames ever, that means something. By the way, parents, there is quite a bit of shooting in this game, but there is no actual blood. It is the equivilent of the old G.I. Joe cartoon. Anyway, this is insanly addictive gaming at it's finest (it got me away from Pokemon. Now are you convinced?). It is small, but it has multiple paths, so you can play through the entire game twice and not see everything! The graphics are also great. If you like old Contra, get this!

Metal Slug is probably one of the best games ever made. It has over 16 Levels I believe and has tons of action and on many videogame sites it got a very good rating. I can't stop playing the game I believe it is one of the best games ever made! If you are planning to buy a Neo Geo Pocket Color, this should be your first game to get. This game will appeal to all video gamers.:-)

I was unsure about this title being put onto a handheld because of the crazy amount of action that goes on in the arcade versions. I was more than pleased when I started playing though as I found although it hasn't got the amazing visuals of the arcades you can bet all the fun is there. It won't take long for the above average gamer to complete this game but if ur a fan u can bet it will have you hooked trying to achieve the highest rank. If you ever loved a shoot 'em up, u'll love this.

Best Adventure in Long Time

The Neo Geo is having a slow start with competitors like Gameboy, but it is definately the superior hand-held, no questions asked. Metal Slug is the arcade classic brought to this phenomenal machine. It is a must buy title, along with Tennis and King of Fighters. I will never get tired of playing Metal Slug, plus there are secrets to uncover.

As an older game addict (much older, believe me) I found this game to be really fun. The graphics and color are clear and distinct. The scenes are fun and will occasionally suprise you. I think it's a great time for kids of all ages!

Almost as good as the arcade

This game is without a doubt one of the best on the Neo pocket. SNK did an excellent job of replicating the arcade experience on their new portable system. Control is tight, graphics are just as detailed as the arcade version, and the game is challenging, but not over the top. Make it your first purchase.

Female and over 20

Metal Slug - I wasn't sure that I would like this game though Iwas looking for a true arcade type shooter. Talk about having anadrelin rush! I could not put this game down! And I am a female and way over twenty. Though I really didn't want my son playing with this game, we gave in and now I have to take turns with him. Though this is really not a game for children, it is a great game for adults.

Byfar one of the best games on any console. It's hard to believe this much fun can be packed into such a little cart. The missions are varied, the graphics are quite good even on the small screen, and the non-stop action always has you coming back for more. Great game.
