I got this game about a year ago and i love it! but i've only won one race because like i'll stay in the pack and when i ask my horse to run it runs for like 30 seconds then doesn't run anyone so that annoys me but its fun!

This is the best Horse Racing game that I've ever owned. You start out just being a jockey for one person, but after you win another trainer will approach you, and as you get better, you get more and more offers for rides. Eventually, you get to start training horses of your own, and after you win a G1 race with one of those horses, you can buy a paddock and start breeding. I HIGHLY recomend this game for any Horse racing lover
THE BEST HORSE GAME EVER!

I got this game about a month ago, and since then I have not been able to put it down! You start out as the lowest jocky riding the slowest horses. it takes some time to get the hang of it,and even in easy mode it's hard to win.it took me a while to win, but now i'm the best jocky! you can win many awards. after a while, you can earn a My Horse, a horse you are main jocky of. you can retire a my Horse for breeding and make Original Horses,a horse thatyou can watch grow from a foal to a two year old. once your original horse is a two year old, you can negotiate to ride it. i think this game is the best game ever!!!!
So Realistic! Continued...

I know, I'm a bit of a nuicance, but I forgot some things. I know that Gallop Racer 06 is out, but DO NOT buy it. I read all the reveiws, and it sounds SO BORING! All of you who own Gallop Racer 04, If you like the trainers, and the jockeys DO NOT BUY IT! I REAPEAT DO NOT BUY IT! The reveiws say that they were wiped completely! But anyway...
So here's the thang: I got a little bored with it. I had had so many horses, but then they all burned out on the same year. It's so sad. I miss em'. Blue Cupid retired, but he wasn't good enough for the pasture, so he's gone for good. I ahve a new filly though. Her name is Serena's Song. Her Dam is Desert Spring and her Sire is Fine Express.
So Realistic!

Gallop Racer 2004 is THE Game to buy! It Rocks! So you start out as a rookie jockey riding the lowest, slowest, most delicate horses in the entire world! I recomend Nozawa, he's got pretty good horses. So anyway, It takes a couple of years to get a lot of horses. But when you run across a good one, You can win a G1 race wich means---BABIES! LOTS AND LOTS OF CUTE, ADORABLE, CHAMPION BABIES THAT YOU GET TO WATCH GROW! It is awesome, but be warned. When you breed, only put your best racehorses in the pasture. I tried to get some nice young uns, and my first four turned out ransid. Here are all the names of my Original Horses from oldest to youngest("AND" means they were born the same year): Special Bear (6), Rum Racer (5), Blue Cupid AND Blue Sky (4), Traffic's Heart (3), Cupid's Girl AND Dream Catcher (2), Dream Victory AND Free Cat (1), In Stride AND Eastern Lily (0). My best mares so far have been Risky Dream and Desert Spring. My best Stallions so fare have been Easy Traffic, Dancing Monster, and Gray Line.
My Favorite Game!

Her Dam is Smoky Sphere who was here for 15 years for breeding. Very good mother I've seen. Her four foals was top ranks. Smoky Heat is hers too. it is so fun even though Shiba freaks me out, you will see who he is later in the game, or if you are not smart and pick him to be your main trainer ( i picked Cook ). This game is perfect out of all the Gallop Racers
The best racing game of ANY kind

(I'm repeating my review of the original GR for those who happily stumbled on GR2004.)
I'm a big horseracing fan and I follow the races even minus the betting. I'm also a veteran computer gamer meaning I have played countless driving and racing sims. The beauty of this game is the UNPREDICTABILITY of each race. Like in all classic racing sims from the old "Street Rod" to "Gran Turismo" the same formula is used here: Build, Race, Win, Upgrade - but with the intriguing twist of each horse's individuality. The game itself is not so simple. As owner/trainer you must be careful to place your horse in the proper race. As jockey it's up to you to give your mount every possible chance. Ultimately what will keep you entranced with this game is what you can't do: In other games we "Save" before each race and "Restart Race" if we lose, being wiser from the experience; here it will be a new race each time.
I recommend this game to the problem gambler going "cold turkey", for his horseracing fix, as the action is SO real. To the uninitiated you will develop a deep understanding of why "The Sport of Kings" continues to fascinate royalty and commoner alike through the ages.
GREAT, GREATER, AND MORE GREAT!

Gallop Racer 2004 is a great game! But don't be fooled by the "SO easy to play!" signs. It's great, but you need to work to win! You can't expect to win the first time out, or you'll lose until finally find "The Horse", as I call it. But if you have patience, you'll finally win a race, therefore giving you your next goal: G1. These are top class horses, so you need a top class horse to beat them. While I have won these races with C and B rated horses, I'd try to get a S or SS horse (a.k.a. REALLY good horse) to do the right the first time. For those of you who like to be yelled at(I won't ask why), choose Shibayama or Cook as your first trainer. Those of you who don't really care, I'd choose Nozawa! You have been warned that Free Mode and Battle Mode are VERY boring! But that is just my experience! And remember: you can be the best rider in the game, but it isn't just the jockey. The horse has to be good, too. Well, I have to go play Gallop Racer! Good Luck, and thanks for reading!

O...wow. This is the best horse game I have ever played! I can't imagine a horse racing lover not adoring this game. There's so much you can do - so many races you can ride in - and I don't think there's a time limit to the amount of years that you're a jockey! I like how you can progress to riding better horses as you get better. It sounds really obvious that you should be able to do that, but some games don't let you. Some horses have really cool abilities you can use to help win races, like Strong Heart. That's my favorite. You can also breed horses, which I haven't done yet, but I'm positive it'll be great! If you love horses and especially horse racing, BUY THIS GAME!
