I kinda liked this one because you could make 10 edit warriors but couldnt change one part of it without starting over including it's rank starting over to 16 even if it was at max but I didn't change it much, and overall it was fun game to play since now I could fight empires with 2 real life people instead of only by self =) but the only thing I didn't like was I couldn't fight the other real life person 1 on 1 or anything like that, only fighting together against enemies but I still think it was a great game and 5/5.

Addicting...

I've always enjoyed stategic games, but this game combines both strategy and hack & slash, which is an addicting combination. I've finished the game multiple times, but continue to enjoy as the opponents change and there is often the opportunity to unlock a new option in the strategic parts of the game or a character after winning a battle by recruiting him/her.

I recognize some think that the brand is getting old and that Koei should just stop. Personally, I like having new characters, moves, and the slight differences have been enough to keep me interested. (I originally had Dynasty Warriors 4 Empires which I also thoroughly enjoyed.) Ok--the strategic parts are not that challenging, but I appreciate that it's there. I probably wouldn't enjoy it as much if it was all hack & slash throughout--just need a break from that style of gameplay every now and then which the strategic parts of this game allows.

Really enjoyed the this role playing game.I would recommend it to anyone who plays role playing games.

Future Dynasty Warriors ?

I just purchased Dynasty warrios 5 Empires game and I'm awaiting it's arrival. But recently koei came out with Dynasty Warriors 6 which i'd give 4/5 for overal gameplay performance. When koei makes dynasty warriors 6 Empires or Dynasty warriors 7 it must have these new features if im goin to buy it; Online gameplay which will enable you to fight against other competitive players, Design your own costume would be a great add-on because you don't have to creat a player with only 6 or more clothes options, For example you could select a samurai out fit similar to zhao yun or lu bu's armor in DW6, or you could just strap up with a regular outfit with two swords, and a mask or something would also be kool. i think alotta fans would love it if they were able to upload there own image while creating a character similar to tiger woods 08 for ps3. The technology is there they just have to set it up.

I just have to say that this seems like an attempt to make a game like Star Wars Battlefront, in which you get to participate in a massive battle as a front-line soldier. Only in this game the setting is China, around 840 AD, where the fighting is done with spears, swords and bows.
This could have been a really cool game, but the number of fightning moves you can do is very limited, the game quickly becomes boring (I've played mine for an hour and I'm ready to take it back and trade it in), the camera angles are very irritating. An enemy steps to your side and they disapear from view. There is no control of the camera angle in any way other than running, which slowly pans it one way or the other. It attempts to be half fighting game, half strategy game. It fails miserably at both.

Unlike other 360 titles, such as Oblivion, which delivers over a hundred hours of fast-paced fun. I would suggest renting this one. If you like it (which I highly doubt), then buy it.

If there was a way of giving less stars....

Before the purchase of any console I always try to find to which audience each particular console will cater too, after my purcahse however, the first game I picked up was Dynasty Warriors. I heard from others that though it's graphics were a little low key, it's ovverall gameplay would make up for it.

I tell you now I coulnd't have been more disappointed.

The soddy excuse for gameplay I was greeted with was half my soilders at all times standing around like imbeciles while an enemy unit was five centimers in front of ther faces. They was slash once, twice, then continue to stand for another 10 minutes.

"stategy" is not as deep as some other gamers claim. You have the option of supporting your other general(god knows thier own units won't) taking on the heavy offense and clearing way for your generals, taking on the defense statgery and guarding the base, or doing a combination of whichever two, such as defending the base while advancing only slightly further to assist your onslaught.

That said, whichever you chose you should know that the win or lose of a battle and eventually the war is dependent soley on you, simply because nothing else in the game has the intelligence to do it. I know that sounds obvious, but in games such as oh, I dunno Ninety nine nights - the NPCs, (your other generals, and your units) will take it upon themselves to distract the enemy while you clear way, or assist you in defeating the boss. And yes, you can give them orders to wait at certain locals while you proceed, instead of in this game where they just stand there as little more than ambiance while your sole Flamboyantly dressed avatar attempts to actually FIGHT a war.

This game is disgusting. It's just bad. There is no stategy, and whomever claims they didn't see it in Ninety nine nights probably just got frustrated because they kept losing.

But to those whose yet made a decision? Buyers beware. Ninety nine nights with it superior music, voice overs, and overral gameplay if far superior to this bland, boring, and frustating hunk of garbage.

This game is at least better than Dynasty Warriors 4 Empires, the weapons are hard to get but you don't have any challenge modes which I like. You can load the save from Dynasty Warriors 5 Extreme Legends.

this game is very very very fun but the creat the charecter thingy is very confusing and how do we get more clothes for them

I LOVE THIS GAME SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH I WANT TO CRY! HAHAHHAAA BUT ANYWAY THIS IS ONE OF THE BESTEST GAMES I HAVE EVER PLAYED IN ME LIFE!!!!!! ok this game has tons of new stuff way more then DW4.The new stuff is really great there are......well im not gunna tell you cause you need to find out on your own just how awesome this game is and how many hours of fun you will have playing this totally awesome game.Why would i tell you what DW5 has that would totally ruin the fun of getting a new game! so all you really need to know is that this is a really awesome game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! no joke!!!! ok bye!!!

Dynasty Warriors 5: Empires is a very well made game. The objective is to unify the 25 provinces under your control. You really test your self, as in seeing how well you would be as a strategist (but of course almost all games that consist fighting have to do with testing strategy!) and how well you would be as leader of a dynasty. For instance, if you make good decisions for your dynasty; a good balance of improving the military and the economy conditions and developments, the people will approve and support your governing. If you make cruel, unfair and greedy decisions (such as focusing only on the military improvements and none for the economy), the people will fear you, and will welcome and even may fight along side with invaders of your territory. If you conquer a territory, you have a choice of deciding fates of captured officers, either hiring them (ranging between 400 to 4000 pieces of gold each), or dismiss them. This game also tests your humanity side as well.

Yes, some of the characters are unrealisticly powerful (such as those who do not wear much armor and/or who carry very light weapons), but compare the characters in the Dynasty Warriors series to some of the characters of the Chrouching Tiger-Hidden Dragon genre (if you have seen any of those films), which is likewise chinese-related.

Character Design :
Another thing I also like about the Dynasty Warriors series is that there are no overly "sexually attractive-designed" characters (if you get my meaning). Just like almost all games, there are a bit unreal sequences (such as a body part moving through fabric, but this problem can be very tricky to undo in character designing. Thus, what's the point of wanting to be perfect in everything?).

Environment: The Environoment was beautifully designed. The trees are wonderful, and the environment is not always enshrouded by mist, as opposed to Dynasty Warriors 4, giving another realistic performance.

Graphics - The graphics (just like Dynasty Warriors 4) were incredible. There was a major amount of detail in almost every plane of graphic design in the game.

Audio:
Sound - The sound contributed a good performance. The footsteps are one of my favorite sounds.

Music - The music as well was pretty good, some songs are more good than others. It's not too modern, which is appropriate for a period of history nearly 2000 years ago.

Voice Acting - The voice acting was likewise good, but there are several sequences when the actors didn't exactly "act into the moment".

Overall: This is a game I recommend to anyone who enjoys "historical games" or who study history in general, such as myself. It is a good game of testing your own knowledge in times of war, and how well of a leader you, yourself would be. If you do not agree, then at least it gives you a sign of how well you would do in war times.
