This game is loosely based on the movie "Blade 2". There is lots and lots of action as noted above. There is great graphics. Great attention to detail. there is techno music like on the movie. its just a great companion to the movie, but I'll wait until it's [price is less]! This game is pretty cool though. It is rated M for extreme blood and gore and language (Whistler uses a couple of expletives) this game is NOT for children under the age of 15-16.

this game is better than the first but not by much. dispite having good graphics and all, this game was still a dissappointment. it is , however, worth renting to check it out. it was a bit fun but still very flawed and is not worth throwing [money] on, like i did...

Blade 2 is an awesome game, it was made by the makers of Spider-man which doesn't mean much considering that game is over-rated. It has the same basic graphics feel but there are way more enemies. In Spider-man, in every room, there was only one or two enemies. The most I ever saw was 6. The best part in super-hero games is to beat up the bad guys and that's what everyone else wants to do. Spider-man doesn't give it to them. Blade on the otherhand does. In the third level, there are more than 50 enemies all together, not neccessarily in one room. There were about forty on the dance floor part though. The best part is you get to kill all of them with either an automatic pistol, shotgun, sword, boomerang blade, UV grenades and your own fists. Each weapon or item is bought in the shop with points you earned for killing enemies in the previous level. Also, just like in the movies, blood flies everywhere and the vampires disentegrate too which works perfectly with the game design and the movie since in most games enemies disappear in order to free up memory. In Blade the movies, the vampires do disappear. You don't have much freedom but the enemies make up for it since that and fatalities are the best part of the gaming experience.

This game is action packed. You can use all sorts of weapons. It is a pretty easy game. I recommend this to anyone who loves action games.

A vast improvement over the first

Blade 2 loosely follows the movie. I must admit that after being dooped into buying the first blade game for playstation i was very leary about purchasing this game. However, after playing it for a little while i began to really get the hang of the controls which focus on the two analog sticks for movement and attacks. The graphics are good, but the at times the camera moves itself into horrible posistions where all you can see is the wall you just passed. The cut scenes for the special finishers really give this game some kick. Access to Blade's arsenal of weapons really helps too. The sword is awesome once your "bloodlust" gauge is full enough. Also, you are able to use his automatic pistol, shotgun, glaive(the round boomerang like blade that Blade throws), flash grenades and armor. If you are into the blade movies and like games that don't frustrate your brain beyond belief then Blade 2 is for you. Also, if you are comic collector like myself then the game is a must. All in all, Blade 2 is worth the dough.

Unbelieveably dull for the most part

As of late we've seen some movie licensed games be surprisingly good (Spider-Man for one), but Blade 2 isn't one of them, and is one more game on the list of poor licensed video games. Fans of the Blade movies (like myself) will be vastly disappointed here, as the game has little to do with the film itself. Your objective is to get from the beginning to end of each level while solving tried and true "find the switch to open the door" puzzles, while at the same time going at hand to hand combat with an assortment of enemies. As the game progresses and you earn more and more points in the levels, you can begin to unlock Blade's exotic assortment of weapons; ranging from a pistol, a shotgun, the glaive (the silver spinning boomerang type weapon in the movie), and UV grenades. As you keep on fighting enemies, your Rage meter (very similar to what was also called the Rage meter in Sword of the Berserk: Guts' Rage for the Dreamcast) builds up, and when it is filled you gain access to Blade's sword to hack up your enemies with. When this happens you can also trigger special kill animations where Blade kills an enemy in a semi-cool fashion and adds a catch phrase to boot. While this does seem like a cool concept on paper, the repitition of this, as well as the overrused catchphrases by some voice actor other than Wesley Snipes, can get rather annoying and detract from the gameplay. Enemy AI has never been dumber, and you won't have a hard time dispatching most enemies. The controls are rather stiff, and recovery time from jumping can prove to be rather troublesome. The graphics are half decent, nothing spectacular, but the pounding repetitive techno soundtrack will make you want to turn the volume of your TV down. All in all, die hard fans of the Blade films or comics may find some degree of enjoyment in this game, but all others should avoid.

One of the worse movie to game translations EVER

I don't know where to start on how horrible this game is. The action [is not good], what's up with using the right analog stick to attack ,and the non-descript enemies make for an even worse time.
This was clearly a waste of money.

This game is extremely bad. Everything about it makes you think they probably only spent 100 dollars making this game. The graphics, compared to an early playstation2 release Onimusha:Warlords, are horrible. You cannot use your sword unless you have obtained level of power or some stupid thing which is so lame because the sword is the best weapon he has. You must use the right analog stick to do hand-to-hand combat when you run out of ammo, which makes you throw punches and kicks all over the place not knowing if you hit anybody. Why this has the same title as the movie makes me ponder since this really has nothing to do with the movie, and the movie [rocked]. I loved both movies but this is stupid. Avoid at all costs
