Good entertainment

The older Bally pinball games weren't very entertaining, even in the flesh. But the last three games are fun, and sometimes frustrating. Microsoft has done well (but not perfect) at simulating the ball movement

This is an best pinball game I've ever seen. Features sever classical pinball tables, with excellent sound and graphic. Works under low or high resolution upto 1024-768.

I thought these would be really fun pinball games, but I felt they were not! You could never get any big points, which makes a person teed off to say the least. For me this was a waste of money

Poor Perfomance on Hot Machine

I have a relatively new machine 1.2 GB with a 64mb video card and over a Gigabite of Ram. I can run just about *any* game perfectly... This pinball runs terribly on my machine. I couldn't believe it was that bad.. so I tried it on another machine. Got the same bad results. I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone. It's a real disappointment.

Realistic Pinball Action!

I got this game about 2 weeks ago,and I love it! It has the most realistic action I've ever seen in a computer pinball game. You can even win replays just like the arcade versions,(although some of the arcade versions did not have this feature). All in all, I have to give this game the highest rating ; best graphics, best action, replay awards, best sounds,(including the electric buzzing when operating the flippers on the older games!).Overall ; challenging & fun, just like the real thing!

Bumper Mania

It is really very difficult just to find a good set of flippers on a pinball game these days. Especially, since there aren't that many arcades and fairs with pinball games, in exchange with video games wher they don't have the rhythm and determination of any decent motion game. Nevertheless, pinball games for the computer also don't fit well in that format, considering a lot of companies aren't actually considering making many of them anymore. I honestly believe it is just a shame. When I went shopping recently, I tried to find a good pinball computer game, and I just noticed it in the inexpensive value section of Target. Microsoft honestly have made a good impression with video game revivals in years, and they've done a brilliant job here.

Microsoft Pinball Arcade is a consistent of seven different Pinball tables, remastered down to the vone in the best graphic content. The graphics are superior and the games here also focus from seven different decades of what pinball was like during each era. From one of the very first pinball games, which actually was more like a pachinko gae during that time, Baffle Ball, to Haunted House, which had a miniature pinball game inside the pinball game, to the 1992 Cue Ball Wizard. This one is really more like the current pinbal games of today, with multiballs, ramps, and different levels of bumper mayhem. This is the hardest of all of those games, because you have different modes to gain into. Honestly, I like this one, but it just a little bit too difficult for me.

Microsoft's Pinball arcade is probably one of the best pinball video games out there right now, because the game doesn't seem downgraded like most of the 2D pinball games like Austin Powers, and Ultimate Pinball. Here, the game speaks well for itself, and Pinball Arcade is a must have for all bumper fanatics.

Disappointing

I was drawn by the nostalgia of generations of genuine Gottlieb pinball tables but soon found the physics of the games troubling. The ball has a 'mind of it's own' and many shots are extremely predictable which ruins the fun. Also, 3 of the 5 tables have 'background' music which overwhelm the original game sounds. Graphically the tables look great but the surely Microsoft could do bettter. Nice try Bill but no winner.

The realism of these tables is outstanding. Better yet it plays well on my XP machine with a 64 bit processor.

Good pinball game

I gave the title of this review "good pinball game" but is not, by far, the greatest pinball I have ever played, but if is fun if you enjoy classic pinball games dating back as far as the 1930's when pinball machines were made without flippers.

It has a lot of variety because you can see how pinball machines have evolved over the years. Each table in the game is from a different era or year.

The graphics and detail are not the greatest but the excitment of the tables makes up for it.

Overall, it is worth $10.00 or $12.00 you spend on it.
