I received this game last February for a birthday present. My computer wasn't good enough to run it. When I finally got a new computer, I installled this game right away. The whole game to me only three days to beat.
The game starts off on the Rhine Maiden. Then you move on to the cable car. Either aren't really suspenseful. The mansion makes up for the lost suspense. You have to find six jewels by solving riddles. In the end, I had to go online to get through a really hard maze, but besides that it's really easy. The ending is good though.
Very Entertaining!

I bought the game for my 9-year-old son, but my 13-year-old daughter and I were the ones who got hooked! It was addictive! Enough surprises and challenges without being overly difficult. (The box does say it is for 8-year-olds and up.) We did have some problems in certain places where we did what we should have, but there was no response from the game. After numerous tries, sometimes reloading and backtracking, the game would respond. That was somewhat frustrating. But overall, it was a lot of fun. Just long enough, but the ending was a bit abrupt.

Great uncomplicated game with decent graphics and just the right amount of "spookiness". I loved the puzzles which weren't overly difficult to solve and the HINT system was very very good in helping me get over one or two puzzles which did not seem to make sense. The marble-in-the-hole game was a little irritating but all other puzzles were solvable even on a trial and error basis. This game is probably not for people who like complex plots and puzzles but as a game novice I enjoyed it and was a little disappointed when the game ended (a little abruptly!).
Great Game!

Although it's been almost a year since I've played this game, I still remember that I loved every minute of it! It's hard to find a good, suspenseful game nowadays with such great graphics and storyline. This is a wonderful game for any mystery lover, and especially if you're willing to solve lots of puzzles. Never had a problem loading the game, but it did crash once or twice during game play. I've been waiting for Episode 2 to come out, where is it?! This game is recommended!

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE CLUE CHRONICLES?
First off, you may notice a couple of things:
1. This is called Clue CHRONICLES
2. It is refered to as EPISODE 1 sometimes.
3. It is a 1999 game with no sequel
Why is this? Well, Clue Chronicles was from Hasbro Interactive and EAI. EAI quit the gaming business and Hasbro quit computer games and was left with board games. So, the promising series was "doomed." If you enjoy this game, I advise you to write into Atari. Why Atari? Well, Hasbro was left with all their computer games. They passed all the rights to Infogrames, which became Atari. So, in the complicated and confusing Clue Chronicles Timeline, the rights are held with Atari. I will, and if you like the game you should too, write to Atari and ask for a sequel. Now, for the real review.
MY REVIEW:
Clue Chronicles follows the story of 11 unlucky party guests on a mysterious yacht owned by Ian Masque. After he drops dead, the mystery begins. Did a box kill him? So it seems...Join the old cast-Miss Scarlet, Mr. Green, Mrs. Peacock, Colonel Mustard, Professer Plum, and Mrs. White-along with a new cast of characters including-Marina Popov, Julia Kell, Sabata, Martin Urfe, and (for a short time) Ian Masque. You are a detective. Nobody has ever met this man is person, what did he want with them, and you? There is an answer. But you need to play the game to find it out. With an airtight plot that doesn't stop-even after the story ends-you will be gasping for breathe at the heartstopping cliffhanger ending!
MY GRADES:
Story 10/10-Well thought out with an unexpected ending
Gameplay 6/10-Minor Glitches that don't effect the gameplay, but involve disappearing characters in the background
Soundtrack-9/10-Music mostly fits the scenes
VO 9/10-The voiceovers are great except for one small part towards the end
Graphics 8/10-Its an old game-that about sums it up, no?
FINAL
A-
Will always be a favorite...

I like the game, but if you become stuck, there is no place to go to get help. If anyone can tell me how to get into the wheel room, please let me know. My email is jbean@mcn.net.

We recommend not buying this game, unless you don't mind a buggy version that is not supported by Hasbro and can't be fixed. Hasbro has decided not to support the game and the patches at the website are no longer available. Save your money and wait for the next one, hopefully bug free.

I was frustrated by this game, because it was actually so much fun. However, I finally gave up on it; too many crashes.
