Great for Small Children

I bought this for my 5 year old daughter. Although she can't grow the fruit (and neither can I!), she loves playing this game. My 3 year old loves playing it as well because the stages of the game are much easier than most. If they are getting it because they like Strawberry Shortcake or because you need an easy game for a small child, this is perfect. They don't care about growing fruit. For parents, if this game strikes you as lame or dumb, please keep in mind it was made for a small child, not and adult, and therefore doesn't need complicated plots or extravagant graphics.

Simply Sweet!

This game is cute and easy to play if you have a basic reading level.
However if you are three years old you'll enjoy this very sweet world and soothing music.
This game would be better suited for six-year olds because reading is required to fully appreciate this game.
Overall a cute game.

Fun for Strawberry Shortcake fans.

I bought this game for my 4-year daughter. Her older brother recently got a GBA SP and I bought this so she could share the gaming experience with him. My daughter absolutely loves Strawberry and her friends and loves playing this game. Granted, she is new to gaming and so doesn't quite know 'the rules' yet. She's not interested in beating the game or earning points so she enjoys it for the simple reason that it's cute and fun and (for her) engrossing. We gave this to her for Christmas and she still enjoys playing it so this must be a good sign. She loves seeing Strawberry Shortcake trek through Strawberryland and seeing her friends (Orange Blossom, Angel Cake, Huckleberry Pie, Apple Dumpling, Pupcake, Rainbow Sherbet and Custard all make an appearance).

If you want a fun little game for your child and aren't that interested in 'beating the game,' then I would recommend it. And if your child just has to have her fill of Strawberry Shortcake, then this would be a fun addition to your gameboy library as well.

My daughter and I share this game. I loved strawberry shortcake. I grewup with it. Now my daughter loves it. She sits for hours playingit. It can take you away to a land of candy yummy for kids. I think the graphics are neat and its fun. Even though when you play and make a mistake you have to start over.

great kids game

I bought this for my 8 yr old daughter & she loves it. There are a few places where she needs help but most of it she can do herself.

I BOUGHT THIS GAME FOR MY 4 1/2 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER.
SHE LOVED THE GAME AT FIRST.BUT AFTER A WHILE, SHE GOT BORED WITH IT, IT SEEMS LIKE YOU'RE STUCK ON THE SAME BOARD. THE SCENERY NEVER CHANGES, I HAVENT' HAD TIME TO SIT DOWN AND FIGURE IT OUT, BUT SHE CAN'T SEEM TO GO TO THE NEXT LEVEL, SO, SHE DOESN'T PLAY IT ANYMORE.
GET DORA THE EXPLORER. IT'S GOT GREAT REVIEWS.I WILL!!

My 5 year old daughter who is a HUGE strawberry shortcake fan was thrilled to receive this game but seemed a little frustrated with it. Overall it's a fun little game not to be taken too seriously. If your daughter is not a SSC fan but loves game boy games I would suggest the Disney Princess one which my daughter loves. Cheers.

I bought this for my daughter, she being a Shortcake fan. She was excited to actually have it, it was cute and showed a lot of the other characters. She and I both thought that each stage was pretty neat also. That is about the only good thing I can say about this game unfortunately, on each stage you are to collect a certain amount of berries etc. and you will also come across items for the "garden stage". Collecting the items is not that hard, that's a good thing. It is the part of growing the berries in the garden that is extremely hard and near impossible to do. And the way the game is set up if you can't grow the berries you can't go forward. (you grow berries to give to S Shortcakes friends, which in turn allows you to progress) My 8 year old could not get a berry to grow to save her life, I tried, her dad tried and my 2 teens who are expert gamers couldn't even get a berry to grow. Extremely frustrating considering we kept going to the instruction booklet trying to figure it out.
Looking at the other reviews here it seems as tho we weren't the only ones frustrated by this game.

Save your money and find a better game this one feels as tho they were just trying to cash in on Shortcakes 2nd round of popularity.

I just wish these company's would really come out with quality games for girls it feels as tho they get the short end of the stick in the gaming world. And when they do think of something that girls would like it falls short.

NOT WORTH THE MONEY!!!!!

I bought this game for my 7 yr old daughter for Christmas. I was sure she would love it and almost had to walk through fire to find it. She won't even play it anymore because it's too complicated for her. I played it and could not win the game for anything. I was super frustrated and I'm an adult. You have to go through several "mini games" to find things to help you grow fruit in your "garden". After you win the items needed it is impossible to actually grow anything in your garden. You can only use these tools once (to grow one berry) and then you have to do it all over again. It is absolutely rediculous-If an adult can't pass it, how do they expect a child to? I would recommend Barbie the Princess and the Pauper game. My daughter loves it and I've already won it!!!
