Glitches, Glitches and did I mention Glitches?

Well, the game is ok, as long as you don't want to finish it. Most of the game is just wandering around pointlessly to find things and getting lost a lot. The major problem is that at one point Gimli is invisible when you need to talk to him and the fact that every single game freezes up when you try to leave Moria. Other than that it's well.... ok for being Lord of the Rings merchandise.

Slow, buggy, and awful

I had high hopes for this game since I'm a big Tolkien fan and really like good GBA RPGs. Boy, was I disappointed! First off the game is horribly slow. Combat takes forever, and is boring since your character miss all the time. You'll spend hours walking around looking for mundane items like flowers or Pippen.

Add to that fact that the game is horribly buggy. Gimli turns invisible in one quest, sometimes the elves don't give you items you need, and I've yet to meet anyone online who found a way out of Moria without the game crashing.

Don't buy this waste of a game. Save your money and either wait for one of the other Lord of the Rings games coming out this Christmas (The Two Towers) or buy Golden Sun or Castlevania instead. This is a prime example of a great license going to waste.

Hey give it some credit, listen to me.

So far this game hasn't received any credit, well not much.
To start off the graphics are good, and the sound is good too.
I haven't seen one glitch yet, I'm sorry. The battles are some what slow, but you have to admit that it is cool to have an invitory and equipping items. If you find glitches, return your game! My game is fine, and I'm past Moria. You can switch your characters, that is a really cool option. But the osund goes away in battles sometimes, thats not so fun. I like to have energy in my battles, but the battles are slow. That's why this game got a 7 out of 10. O' and I'm 14 years old, I'm just not signed up with Amazon. Fun game for younger kids.

This game is horrible. The battles are so... long, slow and unexciting. The scenery is cute, but alittle dark for GBA.
Don't waste your money.

This game is full of action. The graphics are really cool! Through out the game you will meet enemies. When you find them you will have to fight them. You can choose to be any of these characters: Frodo,Samwise,Pippin,Gandalf,Legolas,Gimli and Aragorn. All of these characters have there own unique power. My favourite character is Legolas, he is so cool!!
Attention all costomers this makes a great gift!!

Being an avid video gamer and Lord of the Rings fan, I was excited when this game finally came to GBA as an RPG. But I was extremely dissapointed when I bought it. First of all, my first game froze every single time I got to a certain point in the Mines of Moria. So I returned it and got another. This game froze too, but at an earlier point. I avoided the place where it froze on me and kept going, but then I got stuck in Rivendell, and the elves didn't give me the right item I needed. I have restarted this game and tried to beat it 6 times now. It is not worth the time or frustration. The battles are sickening and mundane, and your characters only hit your enemy 20% of the time, which means the entire fellowship occasionally loses a fight to a band of two or three orcs. You are better off to read the books and imagine yourself in them than buy this game. It could make even J.R.R. Tolkien himself clench his teeth in frustration.

A Great Game For The GameBoy Advance

The Lord Of The Rings : The Fellowship Of The Ring is an awsome RPG video game for the GameBoy Advance. The storyline is excellant and relates to J.R.R. Tolkiens first book of The Lord Of The Rings trilogy ( The Fellowship Of The Ring.) Therefor this video game does not relate to Peter Jacksons first great trilogy movie of The Lord Of The Rings but relates to J.R.R. Tolkiens first book of The Lord Of The Rings trilogy The Fellowship Of The Ring. Gildor the wise elf , Tom Bombadil of The Old Forest ( which means The Old Forest will of coarse be in this game ) , and Glorfindel the elf will be in "The Fellowship Of The Ring" game as they were in the book not the movie. But you can't play as those characters. It has fine graphics for the GameBoy Advance and battle scenes are slow but you have to admit that battle scenes are fun to play and get faster as you get used to the gmae. The movement of the characters you play as in "The Fellowship Of The Ring" video game are not hard at all to control. You get to play as Frodo the hobbit , Gandalf the wizard , Aragorn the mortal , but noble man , and more. There are many enemies in the game who are servants of the Dark Lord Sauron who seeks the one ring that Frodo the hobbit bravely bears and journeys to Mordor to destroy the one ring Sauron made in the fires Mount Doom. Ringwraiths , orcs , trolls , and the balrog demon in the mines of Moria will be the servants of Sauron The Dark Lord Of Mordor. There are enemies in this game who know nothing of Sauron that just wants to kill you. Wolves , giant spiders , and poisonous plants slow down your journey in this great game. I gave The Lord Of The Rings : The Fellowship Of The Ring video game for GameBoy Advance five stars because it goes along well with the book and because it is fun and adventurous. I am proud to be a Lord Of The Rings fan! The books are great , The movie trilogies are awsome , and this game Rocks!

They forgot to quality test! This game is bugged!

First of all, the movement of characters is odd. It's not something you get used to. They dont turn when you want them to. They seem to go at odd angles causing serious frustration and tedium.

Half the stuff in the instructions was not implemented in game. You get a little card saying "spell scrolls don't exist, instead just use gandalf's staff to cast the same spell" and "many items in game have been replaced with other items."

The box says non-linear roleplaying game. What you get instead are parts in the game (without warning) where you just can't go back. You begin a quest then can't complete it because you walked to far left... suddenly you can't return to the quest giver. If you'd even call them quests.

Characters seem to level up at random. Battles ARE slow. Imagine fighting a spider that attacks you, then steps back 50 feet. Then steps forward 50 feet to attack again. Etc until you fall asleep. And the battles are few and far between. I got 14hrs into the 20 hrs of gameplay before freezing and only fought maybe 25 battles?

Now onto the bugs. This company must have done no testing for this game at all. One bug takes you beneath the world, you simply disapear. One part in Moria, the game freezes and you simply can't go on. And I've read posts of other spots (Rivendel for one). Black Label tech support will offer you a solution worthy of the meanest multy button mortal combat combo. I think I'll take a refund instead.

Now onto other things. You only get maybe 3 armor upgrades per character in this game. Merchants dont have much to sell. The game is short. Character developement is shameful for a so-called RPG.

Black Label should have at least tried to copy Golden Sun. If you want an excellent RPG that offers a true non-linear game where char developement takes time, battles are plentiful, spells are actuallly in the game, with better graphics and spell effects, and normal character movement, then get Golden Sun. FOTR for GBA is a joke. I will never buy a Black Label or Vevindi game again. They should have put 1/1000th the effort that was put in the books at least to make a nameworthy game. Instead they released an incomplete, untested mess.

Don't buy this game

This game has so many glitches you lose count. I have had to start the entire game over 4 times because of them. The controls are sluggish, at best. Save your money or get a game that you can actually enjoy. It is definitely NOT this one.

The best game I have ever played. JoeF-k
