Not the Playstation version. It took 2 hours to beat. The voice acting is lame. Get another game.
That's all I really have to say about that.
Cool Difference !!

I'm young and found the playstation version of the game too hard to play. So, my dad traded it for the computer version. Wow, what a difference ! I loved it ! The controls were alot easier and the game felt more like the movie. It was really funny and I could tell it was made for younger kids like me. I finished it 2 days ago but I still play, mostly the gingerbread man level, its great !
Kids liked, but we didn't get what we paid for

My son got this as a birthday present. We had heard rave reviews from friends and cousins who have the console Playstation 2 version. He's had a lot of fun with it but he kept saying it was different than his friends. I've since learned the PC version is in fact different and also easier from the console versions.
Everywhere I see it appears the PC version is advertised with the other console versions as the same, this includes the Activitison web site, and even here above see the amazon features and product description from the manufacturer.
No where on the box does it call out that's its different. The PC version does not allow multi player nor do you get to pick what player. Nor from what I understand does it have the levels or playing abilities the console version has.
The game is fun and we found it extremely funny at times but not worth the price tag we paid for getting it early. Aside from being mislead, we did have some complaints: 1) you have to start a new game and play the whole game through to go back and play favorite levels and 2) once you figure our how to defeat the end, it's pretty much done for it doesn't allow you to see if you collected all the coins or even do some type of time trial like other games. My son mastered the game over 2 weekends since the only way of play is to play the game entirely through with no "alternate" play I expect to be shelfing or trading this soon. He hasn't played it in over a week and we've only had it for four weeks.
As I said we did have some fun with this, but we didn't get what we thought we were getting and it wasn't worth the price we paid. Properly advertised and priced this would have been a satisfactory purchase.
Good Fun For the Kids

Now, first off Activision (it's their name on the box) did a poor job of saying that the PC version is different from the one on X-box...It IS NOT the same, but that's not a bad thing.
Actually my son and daughter had a great time with this game. My son said "Dad this is diff'rent from the one on X-box, it's funnier."..This was obvious from his laughter throughout the game. I watched and laughed along with them..It also had good graphics ( better than most kid games). They seemed to only have trouble with a few spots, but got through the puzzles after a few tries, with little help from dad.
A good purchase,
My son loved it!

After taking my two kids to see Shrek2, I bought them this computer game, and they have really enjoyed playing it. My 10 year old son seems to find the donkey especially funny, and my 8 year old daughter, who usually doesn't play as many games, has been very absorbed with this one since I brought it home. It was easy to get them started, which I appreciate, since I'm not a computer whiz, and it seems to be very consistant with the movie, which thye loved.
I hope the movie is this good.

I know this isn't out in most places yet. However, i picked up a copy at my local Wal-Mart. I'm not sure if it was a mistake. But, i am happy i got it! This game has a grand sense of humor. Along with upscale (albiet, about a year behind) graphics. A LOT of levels. And, all of the original voices from both Shrek movies! 3 dimensional graphics that shine in a platform based action game with a touch of strategy and critical thinking. Lots of very fast paced fighting. The point that my son and i both enjoyed the most is that you can play as MANY different characters throughout the game. Such as Shrek, Donkey,Puss in boots, and Fiona just for starters. I'll leave out the rest so you can be surprised at just how creative they were in the design of such a moderately priced game. I can't see why anyone with a love for platform/strategy games wouldn't enjoy this from start to finish.
Will entertain your kids for the weekend only

My son who is 7 bought this game on a Friday and of course had to install it right away :) By Saturday evening, he had won the game with help from his dad in a few spots. Sunday then rolled around and he beat the game again within 3 hours and this time did it all by himself.
The graphics are good in some spots and great in others. The voices are just fine and the kids will smile when they recognize them.
Your child might have a hard time playing the game via the keyboard layout and it does take some good coordination to figure it out (this is what he needed help with the most). But once they have that mastered, they will play it without any problem.
So here's the deal. By the 2nd full completed game, my son was done and it has be removed from the PC. Not much replay value for $30 in my opinion. Now I see the full retail has dropped to only $20 in less than 2 weeks. That alone should tell you that the game is faltering in sales.
Parents, in my opinion, go get a used one on an auction site or somewhere else so you don't pay full retail for this like I did.
