Gothic 2 has alot better interface control and Huge quests.

The sequel to the critically acclaimed RPG, Gothic, Gothic II takes you on an even greater journey of adventure and discovery. The plot continues from the cliff-hanger of the original: After the imprisoned colony members are victorious, collapsing the magical barrier, the former Prison Colony is struck by a terrible earthquake, claiming the lives of many. The majority of survivors seize this opportunity to escape with only a handful of people remaining in the derelict prison.

Rescued by the Nemesis Xardas you start out with only a little food and some water. This is a 'dark' RPG game with non-linear quest and plot. The interface controls are much improved and better easier to use. The game area is even four times bigger. It has all the fun, intrigue and 'ruthless' of the original and so much more. You can play in either first or over the should third person mode. It is like Morrowind in a way, but is more fun if you like the "darker side" of RPG. There are three basic classes but you can develop how ever you want. The graphics and sound is even better than Morrowind. This game is already out in Germany, but the English version is coming.... It is a great game, even if did not get alot of publicity here in USA.

I have played the Gothic 1 at least 10 times and it never gets dull. I downloaded the Greman demo of gothic 2, IT WAS SWEET!!!!!!!. The game play has only gotten better and they fixed some of the control problems. Your character starts out a little better and the graphics are amazing. I highly recomend getting the demo, its worth it even though its German. This is going to be the best game ever.

I already played Gothic 2 'cause I'm from germany and here Jowood released it in 2002! Gothic 2 is the best RPG I ever played! The AI of the over 400 Computer characters is one of the best AI i've ever seen! There are more than 150 weapons which all have individuel good and bad sides! The Animations are brilliant but sometimes you can't see the enemy because the detailed environment is so huge!
So finally i have to say that if you don't buy Gothic 2 you made a really big mistake!

Gothic 2 is really long! It took me more then 35 hours to finish the game but i didn't play all quests!

Looks good, but why all the delays?

Gothic was a good game. Gothic 2 should be a better game. I've been waiting for this game for months, why all the delays. According to Gothic2.com the only thing left to do is translate the script from German to English. This can also be logically deduced, as the game is already out in Germany. Is Gothic 2 really that long, or are the translaters braindead? I'm also hoping that Gothic 2 will have some better graphics and fewer bugs than Gothic. If Gothic 2 lives up to be all it's hyped up to be, it should be a great game.

I can't wait.

I just bought Gothic 2 from Poland and i am waiting for it. I couldnt wait until october for english version, and i thing that is too long, they should be done with translation already!!!

The game is great, i enjoyed it very much but its way too short, i played for like a week( and i was takeing my time) and i finished with no problem....at the beginning its very hard so its a littly stupid cause you have to save it every min. because you may die. But overall i will give 5 stars for a game. ...

Better than Gothic 1, if that's possible

I ordered this from the UK for under 50 bucks instead of waiting for the US release. G2 improves on everything from the first game. It's way larger, with a lot more equipment, monsters, items, and area to explore. It has better controls and graphics as well.

A definate good play!

A good all round fun roleplay game!
I've spent many hours running round, trying to solve all the problems, and see all there is to see..
The controls take a little getting used to, but once you're there, it's plain sailing.
A good, strong storyline, with good characterisations, good gameplay, and good graphics.
This is one I'll be keeping on the shelf to replay later!

Looked forward to this sequel to Gothic I, and am not disappointed. Am having a wonderful time monster bashing.
