Puzzle your way through a man's gone Memories

Just plain awesome. Top 5 material. Game-great! Voices-not sooo great. But it doesnt make you not want to play anymore. I have made it to Chapter 8 so far an am stuck on one of the puzzles. GRRRR. But it still keeps me a playin' Go buy it if you love a good story to unpuzzle. If not...go die then.

Sanitarium, what can I say? Creepy, very good graphics, runs on almost any system. I bought it long ago, and for the price, I wasn't disappointed, except that the game was somewhat short and the puzzles (the few that they had ) weren't very complicated. You play as several characters, like the sister of the main player who died of a disease, a comic book charater that the main character read as a child and, of course, the main character, a man injured in an automobile wreck on his way home only to wake up in a bizarre castle-like sanitarium. Along the way, you'll meet strange people that either help you along the way or hinder you, like Mother, and a Hydra looking thing. Some things in this game are trully disturbing (like the village with the weird kids and the pumpkin patch) but not on the scale of The Suffering or Manhunt, but still this game has a way of staying with you after its over. It is an interesting little game, and worth a try,especially since the price has dropped so much.

Sanitarium is the wierdest game ever. It have moved my mind and played with it like no game ever. It is the best game beside Diablo series and Fallout. I played the game very long time ago and I havent forgot it yet. The story, the graphic for that time, the way of interpretion is absolutely fantastic. while playing player is facing his own demons. the story is absolutely fantastic- the masterpiece combination of triler, psychic and horror. I reccomend that you buy the game, 'couse if you don't you could regret. BuY(...) it!!!!!!! And if you don't want to play it any more, send it to me :))

Quite the little breakthrough when this game came out, although on the surface one would not really know why..Yes the graphics are especially nice for the time, the tone is decidedly dark, and the plot is unusual, but what players became facinated by was the development of the story and how it related to your gameplay..More game makers should take the cues that psychology plays in this game, as it offers an entirely new, less restrictive playground for the seasoned player to venture off into..

This is by far one of my favorite games. It was challaging as well as rewarding. All the clues are in the game if you look. I hate games where you must have the hint book in order to play the game. I wish there were more games like this one on the market today.

Wow, this game is one of the greatest I've ever played! Made up of 4 disks, it has lots of playing time. You travel through various dream lands of the main character, Max, who just had a serious accident and is in a coma for some time. With shapeshifting and hilarious characters, this game is highly recommended for any computer player.

Unchallenging and silly

Sanitarium may have some interesting locations, but that's all it has going for it. I only played through to find out what was really going on, and, believe me, it wasn't worth it. Just think of the most cliched ending a game like this could possibly have, and you know how it turns out.

During the game, the puzzles are so simple that they didn't even feel like puzzles. Playing Hide and Go Seek? That's a real challenge. The longest I spent on any puzzle was when I knew I had to dig a hole, I just couldn't find the danged shovel. It was right out in plain view, but the detail of the scenery caused me not to notice it.

I would only recommmend Sanitarium to those who desperately crave a good-looking adventure game and don't care about the plot or puzzles.

Fun but easy.

Well, this is an interesting game and I give it lots of credit for not trying very hard to be interesting. The game does shift gears a lot, as mentioned in anothe review. I often forgot the main story while involved in some of the stranger chapters. I think the story is well-developed, especially by todays video game standards. After you get used to the controls, this game will be a breeze. Takes a day or two at most two beat but I found it to be genuinly interesting. The Voices are pretty melodramatic but I think this adds to the humor of this dark title.

I enjoyed this game a lot. The cinematic scenes were excellent and actually integral to the game. I liked the use of the cinematic cuts when you discovered something new. The game play itself ran smooth on my ATI 128 and 64M of ram. The graphics were overall like Blade Runner but better. The story was great. The puzzles weren't overtly hard. I cheated a bit but only because I wanted to get through it faster; it's not nescessary.
