High Heat does it again

Simply the best baseball game you can get. More features than anyone else, yet easy enough to pick up and play. If you want a home run derby, maybe get Triple Play, but if you want real baseball (AND home run derby...), get High Heat.

A great ballgame!

Ecellent game! The best sports game I've ever bought. This one actually keeps my attention after I get a season started, I usually can't get past the first two to three weeks in other sports titles. Buy it now! and this is a great price too!

Truly the best.

I've been playing baseball on computers since HardBall! on myC64, back in the mid-80s. That game stressed the arcade element, forsure, but it was loads of fun. I tried Triple Play and HardBall on the PC, but they were lacking in... something. That something was realism. High Heat 01 comes a LOT closer than those other games to feeling "real". I was disappointed to see cartoony ball and bat animations in this version, but was pleased to see that I could turn them off.

The graphics are very good but not great. The UI is not perfect. But when compared to others, High Heat shines. END

There's no wonder why so many magazines call this one of thegreatest GAMES (not only sports) of all time. There is so much depththat it is unbelievable. Although at times the graphics and sound are a tad bit weak, that is more than made up for by the gameplay. Batting practice, Home Run Derby, all the NEW stadiums and OLD (Comerica AND Tiger Stadium), it's awesome. You won't be dissapointed! END

This game has it all!

I have played many baseball games over the years...Hardball...the Triple Play series; High Heat 2001 is by far the best in it's field (so to speak). After the initial frustration of learning to time the pitcher and actually hit the baseball I have learned to love this game. Instead of hitting 25 home runs a game as in Triple Play, you have to actually develop the skill of trying to out guess the pitcher and of being patient at the plate just like the Major Leagues. The graphics and playability are awesome, from pass balls to bad throws, errors, hitting the cuttoff man, placing the bunt...and so on, this is real baseball. The general manager options of developing a farm team and making roster moves makes this game a total baseball experience. So, if your team is struggling, just edit a few of your hitter's abilities and averages and the next thing you know you will be fighting for a pennant. Baseball simulation lovers don't miss this one, get it today!

Apparently one of the only people not

To be sure, High Heat is a decent baseball game. But I don't find the interface between batter and pitcher THAT muchbetter than others, and I really have hard time getting past the truly substandard graphics, the choppy gameplay (NOT my system), and the listless commentary. This game is fine, . . . but this game does not revolutionize baseball sims as we know it. I was disappointed...all the reviews and hype say this is the tops. It just didn't live up..it's the Phantom Menace of baseball sims!

Great everything! Good graphics, game play, easy to learn, easy installation, if you are looking for a great baseball game, then here it is! Has everything to do. Batting practice, homerun derby, seasons, custom leagues, everything! I would definitely recommend this game to anyone who wants to play baseball on their computer.

It's so real! (Yeah right)

In the commercial Sammy claims that his game is "...so real." I beg the differ, this game is o.k. but all the hype is cheap. The gameplay may be good but where it counts (graphics) this game falls short.

first truely realistic baseball sim

if you want an exciting baseball game where every other batter clubs one out this game is probably not for you. the graphics leave much to be desired, and the commentary is sub par. However, any true baseball fan will fall in love with this game. this is the first game i have ever played that actually does justice to the sport. if you hit it to the wall you will get a double. if you tag from third on a fly to the outfield you wil usually score, if you are on second base "scoring position" and you get an outfield hit you usually score. High Heat 2K1 gets right all of the little things that rarely are implimented correctly in baseball sims. simply put this is a great game for baseball fans.
