Warning! Do not buy this game! I love Qbert arcade game so I bought this game. Yes this game did not have any problems after installing it on my PC. However, after playing a few rounds, the game would stop for no reason, then game over title shows up. The original Qbert game does have 9 levels, but this game does not reach to that level. Instead after reaching the 2nd or 3rd level, the game would stop and reset, then show the message saying game over. I am an expert on the original Qbert arcade game that was out many years ago. I did pass all 9 levels scoring over 1 million points with over 30 lives, so I am not junk playing Qbert.

This is a really good update of Q-bert. The authors have kept true to the original Q-bert playing style (from the arcade game of several decades ago), while taking the concept to great new heights. I enjoyed the imagination that went into creating the mazes for this game.

The control of Q-bert is simplicity itself. All you have available to you is to jump in one of four directions. The playing field, however, becomes increasingly more complex, challenging your coordination and your ability to plan your navigation.

Clearly, this is a dated video game. If you aren't old enough to vividly remember hearing that President Reagan had been shot by a would-be assassin, you are not going to appreciate this game. It is simplistic and the graphics are crude by contemporary standards. However, in its day, this game was novel and refreshingly fun. It is an old style arcade video game which is essentially a challenging moving puzzle, not a more modern ultra-realistic killing simulation. I spent many hours in my misguided and misspent youth feeding quarters into the Q*bert machine at my local pub. It is a nostalgic treat to be able to waste a few hours in my misguided and misspent middle-age playing Q*bert on my home computer. The fact that the game costs less than one or two nights of quarters in the arcade machine just improves the experience by appealing to my frugal nature. This game isn't slick and it isn't sophisticated. However, it is still fun. They have added a few new features, but I prefer the classic version. They have certainly captured the fun of the original version. Now, if they could only find that cute little co-ed from the dorm next to mine who used to watch me play, it would be like my college days all over again......Recommended without reservations to all baby boomers with receding hairlines. There seems to be a minor glitch with my system, Windows XP Pro. Every once in a while, the sound will stop abruptly until you close the game and restart. It does not happen often and I can be forgiving of this flaw in an old friend, particularly when the game isn't marketed as XP-compatible. However, I did withhold one star and only ranked it with four stars because this game is so simplistic compared to modern games. It hasn't aged well, but how many of us have?

Great game

Q*Bert is an old arcade game from the 80s. I bought this modern PC version because I'd enjoyed another old arcade game that Hasbro had revamped: Frogger.
Q*Bert failed to disappoint me. I've never played the 80s arcade version, but this version is fun! The character (Q*Bert himself) is cool - an orange thing with a hose-like nose/mouth.
In the game, you are on a landscape of cubes. Your job is to change them all one colour, avoiding any enemies you may encounter.
This is really fun and addictive!

After much anticipation I recieved this game, and it's the bestversion of Q*bert since his arcade release. The graphics are justamazing, the game play stays true to the original. If you buy one classic this year make it Q*bert for pc, or Playstation. You won't be sorry.

Q*bert for the PC is really great! You can play the classic game, an adventure game, or head-to-head with a friend. Don't worry about those fuzzy looking graphics on the back of the box; if you set the resolution to 600x800 or higher with all the features turned on, the graphics are excellent! (I personally have it set on 1024x768 for better backgrounds.) Don't worry about the system requirements as long as you have a 3D card. I have a Pentium 120 with 16 MB of RAM (waaaaaayyy under the system requirements! ), but I also have a fairly new 3D card, and the gameplay is very smooth with no slow-downs or delays, and I'm also running just about everything off the CD-ROM! :-) This game is a whole lot of fun for new and old Q*bert fans alike!

My cousin got me Q*bert just as a gift. I like it a lot. Q*bert is the coolest video game character ever. The 3-D graphics are really cool, and the game is fun and challenging at the same time. I think it's cool that it's a remake of an old 80's arcade game.
