So-So

This game is hard but fun, you have to have money to buy parts for your bot, and that sucks, you have to repair it each time you win or lose in tournament mode plus if you lose in tournament mode, your armor will be destroyed and you will HAVE to buy new armor. you can create your own robot and be the ones on the TV show in brawl mode so this game is OK but you should buy it used or new, it's new price sucks.

not as bad as they say...

most people would say this game is horrible, but it's actually not bad. building your own bot is cool and the battles are pretty fun. there are also a good number of bots from the show that you can battle, and there are 4 different arenas to battle in. the only downside i found is that there is no save feature, so you must use passwords. this normally wouldn't be a problem, but you must first enter the password for your Bot Team, then a ridiculously long pass for each seperate Bot. on the other hand though, this makes the game very easy to pick up and play a quick round or 2. the game isn't bad and it's cheap too so you might want to pick it up if you have a few bucks to spare.

great job of making battle bots in to a game.

This game does a great job of capturing the battlebots experience in to a video game. It made me realize hoe much I missed the show.

This game does not suck but on the other hand it does not totally rock either. You have the options of playing with the actual robots from the show or you can be creative and build your own. I've tried the tournament mode and that is cool. No you can't save your games because there is no game to save...

Battlebots! But is it Worth it?

Yes! This game is very fun. The only problem is that it's very short (only 16 battles in tournment mode) and the battles are pretty easy (except in the beginning when you have almost no $). Brawl mode is TONS of fun because you can duke it out with up to 3 other people using you own bots or bots from the Battlebots TV show. I just wish my friends had this game so that i could battle them. I would finally like to add in response to all the new reviews that yes, you can load your game from before. It does take a little bit of figuring out but you can load your game.

Ratings:

Graphics: 10/10

This game has great 3D graphics for a GBA game and the bots/arenas are very detailed (you can even see stickers on some of the bots).

Sound: 8/10

Don't expect world class soung out of a GBA but the sound is nice. The killsaws sound authentic. When I use my Philips behind-the-head headphones the sound is very crisp.

Gameplay: 9/10

Gameplay is perfect and fun except for the fact that the Tournment Mode is too short.

Battlebots Authenticity: 9/10

The bots and Battlebox are authentic but some of the stadiums and weapons aren't (ex: volcano).

Options/Choices: 10/10

The fact that you can decide:
1)how many bots are in a Brawl
2)whether to play in arcade or simulation mode
3)the amount of time the fight lasts
4)and the large weapon/tire/chassi/armor/motor/battery selections all contribute to the 10/10.

Fun: 10/10

What's better than robots beating the life out of each other? Controlling robots as they beat the life out of each other! That's exactly what this game is.

Overall: 56/60

This game is great in all ways and I would suggest that all Battlebots enthusiasts, and people that just like battlebots in general, get this game.

I bought this for my ten year old and both he and his older brother 12 were totally psyched about the concept but it has been three weeks now and noone is playing the game. Seemed like a great thing to all of us, but ...eh. They can't say what is wrong with it, it is ok, just not what they hoped it would be.

WHY DISCONTINUE PLAY STATION VERSION??

My son is a great fan of battle bots and wants as much engineer games that you can create, build and play! There is NOT enough of these games available for our left brained, intelligent engineering children! Any suggestions for these types of minds please forward! I will get the play station version, however, we now have Gameboy SP; will this meet our needs or our expectations?? I don't know! Why outdate something that could do well, if given the right promotion and advertising to this age group!! I will check back for suggestions!
