Hasbro programmers are the worlds champs at (...) retentive, cry baby, poor losers! Their programs will cheat without shame against a human. They write a fine program but they really need psych tests before being hired. I'm sure the writers giggle all day but it's INCREDIBLY boring to restart 10-20 times to get an honest roll of the dice (OK, close at best). I'd avoid ANYTHING that's Hasbro, we don't need the BS.

You have got to be kidding me

What a waste of money. I like a challenging game, but this is rediculous. Set on the lowest difficulty, some of the missions are nearly impossible to accomplish.

The first mission of the game, you have a choice of one medium (50 tons) mech, and two lights (35 tons each) for two pilots. Then you proceed to face, not one, but two Thors, which outweigh you by 20 to 35 tons.

On the second mission, again, you are facing much heavier mechs than you have access to, and if you stray too close to the enemy base, you end up with an assault lance on your trail. Did I mention that the enemy is using pretty much all Clan mechs?

The third mission you have to protect a base. If you can get there before the enemy wipes it off the face of Vail that is. You have to run all out to TRY to get there first, and then you face off with several heavy mechs, while the enemy Ryoken is tearing things apart.

On the fourth mission, you have to protect a convoy, which generally gets destroyed before you ever get relatively close to it. Even if you get close, they have destroyed more than half of it, and you will have your hands too full to try to find out which mech is taking out the trucks. Either way, you tend to lose over, and over, and over, and over.

What it seems like is that they traded a variety of missions with having to play the same one over and over until you actually beat it. Each of the missions you have to flat out run to get where you have to be, or you will lose. No options. No choices. Had I known that it was so unballanced, I would never have wasted my money on this game.

Keep the expansions coming, guys!

This, the one and only expansion to Mechwarrior 3 rocks. You play a pilot on a remote moon, battling the 'New Belt Pirates' an unknown pirate group.

The game interface is the same one used in the original game, so it rocks. The added background story in this game makes it more fun to play that the original, as do the new 'mechs you can get. I think I play this more than the original Mechwarrior 3. Hmm....

This is an expansion, and will not play without the original game installed on your system. If you purchase the MW3 Gold edition it comes with the expansion. That would be the way to go.

Well Bushmaster really is mental,he doesnt understand that they put the slip EXPANSION PACK on the game so people wont be expecting a whole new game with new graphics and huge updates.

If they didnt have Expansion Pack on it well of course id be with Bushmaster but they had it on... Anyway

()to the point()

This game is quite good,i find the mechs are quite excellent too.theres just one mech that i dun think could hold its ground against 5 apcs but its quite good...and if you DO look close enough you can see the graphics are just a tiny bit improved.Though nothing to MW4 this is a great addition to the Mech Warrior series expansion and can really warm the story from MW3 up a bit.

This is a game worth the money.

()Put em up Bushmaster put em up!!()

Good but MW3 still loads first.

If you are a single player person who is looking for some more action out of the Battletech games this is a fine addition to the collection. The addition of mechs, weapons and improved graphics will be quite pleasing. However for Multiplayer MechWarriors this is probably not the product to buy, the MW3 CD still sits in my computer for internet play as well as LAN games.

I don't know what he was thinking when he wrote his review. He is a raving lunatic. This is one of the best games I've had the privlege to play in a long time. The new Mechs' are excellent and the game play has improved. But this isn't a new game, just an expansion pack. If you thought some how this was going to be a new game then your nuts. Thats why the words Expansion Pack are on the packaging.

This is by far the best Mechwarrior game so far, having played them all and a player of Battletech Game World (RPG) I have found this game to be most accurate and enjoyable. I hope they provide more games that are enjoable as Mechwarrior 3 series. The expansion is much harder then the first game, and not full of bugs as Mercenaries. I highly recommend this game to all who enjoy the Battletech Gamimg World!

A huge improvement!

MechWarrior 3 Expansion improved on the original in lots of ways. The enemy mechs now try to circle fight you which makes them harder to kill. The new weapons are awsome! There are six new mechs-3 of which are extremely destructive...

There are lots of little improvements such as after you land from doing a jump jet, your throttle doesn't go to 0.

The new levels in the game are very cool, especially at night.Your lancemates are also a lot smarter.

I have a celeron 466, 128MB RAM, and a voodoo3 3000 video card and the game performs flawlessly with every single graphics option turned on so I know it will work good on slower systems. In conclusion if the original MW3 left you wanting more, get this game and you will be satisfied

I just finished the first campaign and am starting the pirate campaign. It has new features (like night missions and headlights) several new weapons and 6 new mechs (Direwolf/Masakari) (Ryoken/Storm Crow) (Clint IIC) (Centurion) (Awesome) (Atlas) (and elementals) If you bought Mech3 and liked it, you have to get this!

HASBRO the licencee for the MW3 series just came out DEC 3rd with their second installment of MW3, PIRATE'S MOON. This was supposed to be a series of three games but decided to close two plants and all the staff including support for the MW3 series. HASBRO fired 2200 people 4 days after releasing PIRATE'S MOON and will not be able to produce the third game, nor offer any support. ZIPPER actually made the game for HASBRO and has stated they will no longer work with them on the project. The game is however a good piece of work and uses AI better than any other of the MECH WARRIOR series. It also has some great multi player functions, new weapons and new MECHS to the MW3 series. The LAG in this version seems to be greater than the last, you really need a good fast computer and alot of mem to go up against the players that already have it. A cable or dsl will be helpful too, if you play against others, and you don't have the goods, your toast ! If you like UA games then get a couple of THUNDERBOLTS and have at it, then the lag won't make much difference. DF_XIBIOUS_VR
