This was a fun game, one I enjoyed playing (even when I was cursing in frustration). It's got that arcade-like feel where you stroll about killing baddies using either your sword or fireball-thingys you find as you play. One nice feature is the fact that your enemies don't all attack you at once--most stay put until you get close, giving you a chance to spot them. There are several flying/sneak attack foes which are more challenging to beat. About every third level is a "boss" level where you have to defeat someone or something appproximately ten times your size--the trick seems to be to find the one spot on the foe that takes damage when you hit it (head, waist, knees, etc.) and duck a lot. What I enjoyed most about the game was finding the hidden portals and alternate routes to the end of a level. What I enjoyed least was the fact that save codes weren't given after every level, so if you got through a tough level but then died in the next, you had to do both all over again...*groan* Overall I'd say it was a good game, but I was able to beat it in a matter of days, and once I had done that and discovered all the hidden stuff, there wasn't much point in playing anymore. I'd definitely recommend playing it, because it was a lot of fun the first time through, but I'd advise renting or borrowing it first, to see if you like it enough to want to own it long-term.
