Okay, I am not a pokemon fan at all, but I have to say that I love this game. You can choose from two different tables, red or blue. This game can become very addicting. If you are a pinball fan and not a pokemon fan, you can still enjoy this game. I highly recommened it.

This Is Awesome!!!

If you are kind of new to Pokemon and don't know much about pokemon you should get this game. It's just a pinball game when you have to catch pokemons. I bought this at an Ebgames for 2.99. You can probably get a cheaper price for it unless you read my review at felt that it is so good you have to recive it in the next 24 hours. After you know a lot about this game you probably already know enough about these games to start with Ruby or Blue or Gold. If you want this game new get it for GBA unless you are stuck with a Game Boy Color. I liked the game so much I bouught it for Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance. The difference is that in one of them it shakes the Game Boy which is highly rare. But you have to have a AAA battery for your game. This is a great game.

3.5 stars - a good pinball game

The video games in the Pokemon franchise are very hit or miss. For every Pokemon Gold or Pokemon Silver, there's a Pokemon Snap or Hey You Pikachu to bring the series back down. In 1999, Nintendo decided to try their hand at something a little different with the Pokemon characters - a pinball game. Is this one of the hits in the series, or one of the misses? Read on for my review.

PROS:
-Perhaps the greatest thing about this game is that you don't have to be a Pokemon fan to enjoy it.
-The game contains a good deal more depth than your average pinball game.
-There is an element of Pokemon capturing, which makes this a very interesting game.
-There are two different tables, one of which has monsters not found on the other and vice versa
-There are a number of bonus events as well.

CONS:
-Let's face the facts, no pinball game can hold your attention forever.
-The rumble feature doesn't contribute anything to the game.
-There are only TWO tables - more would have been nice.
-Since this is a Pokemon game, many hardcore gamers may be reluctant to try it.

OVERALL:
Overall this is a good pinball game, and one of the hits in the Pokemon series. If you've got a Game Boy, this here is a game worth checking out. It's nothing revolutionary, but it's sure to kill some time for you.

Disappointing

Now I love pokémon as much as the next person, but this installment in the series is somewhat disappointing. When I first got it, I had good expectations of it and it seemed to be quite entertaining. But give it some time and you'll see that' it's not all it's cracked up to be. The layouts of the two tables in the game are the worst ones I have ever seen! Mainly because every slope and tunnel AIMS STRAIGHT DOWN THE GUTTER! And due to the severe lack of objects to hit, you'll often be flipping the ball onto empty walls. The pinball itself is too chunky and NEVER goes where you want it too. Now don't get me wrong! I have played other pinball games before and have immediately got to grips with the physics of the controls. But this ball seems too have a mind of it's own! And not only that, the sheer size of it causes a weird glitch in the game that often makes the ball get stuck IN the flipper then suddenly darts off all over the place! Sometimes the ball even goes through the flippers, which is extremely frustrating if you're on an all-time high score. Even worse, the built-in rumble pack is so hideously strong that you'll undoubtedly drop your Gameboy just as you're about to catch a Mew.

On the plus side though, the urge to catch and train every last pokémon makes this game strangely compulsive to play. But spare yourself the obsession and don't play in the first place! With an abysmal table layout, a ball that defies the law of physics, and a special tilt feature that does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, pokémon pinball is a sorry chapter in pokémon history. With so many better pinball games out there, it would be a poor choice to pick this one.

PokéMon Pinball

Pinball, and PokéMon? Should those two words go together? Yes! And you have, "PokéMon Pinball", one of the Game Boy Color's best games! It's fun and addictive, and the music and sound are pretty cool (for a GBC title). The graphics are great, too. The only minus that removes the star is the fact that the player can't put the PokéMon they captured in the Blue, Red, or Yellow RPG titles into the pinball game (and vice-versa). It would be cool if you can take the PokéMon you captured in "PokéMon Pinball" and transferred them into the RPG title!

Pretty Good

The game is pretty good but sometimes it can be really hard to catch or evolve pokemon. But the game can be really fun sometimes.

I went to blockbuster to rent this game, and when I got home and started to play I couldn't stop!!! It is sooooo fun and cool because you have got to catch pokemon while you play pinball!!!
A pinball wizard who likes pokemon as well as pinball, will surley LOVE this game! A great buy. And you can save money by buying used ones all you do is just start a new game instead of hitting continue.

More for older players

I bought this for my 6 year old. He prefers the red and yellow versions of the Pokemon game (and can now import those Pokemon into the N64 Pokemon Stadium game).

However, I started playing this and quite enjoy it. I guess I'm old enough to have experienced hanging round pubs and playing pinball in my misspent university days, so purely on a nostalgia basis, a pinball game is atttractive! This is a good one.

The rumblepak feature to me, in all honesty, doesn't add much, but then it doesn't detract either...just a harmless gimmick really.

Fun, when you want a change from Tetris or PacMan! END

A solid game

Pokémon pinball is a great game-boy color title. I say so because the game is challenging, there is always room for improvement, because your always trying to beat your top score. The game will keep you entertained for hours if you need it to because of the challenge in trying to meet the different goals of catching pokemon. There is level advancements within the game that take you to different areas to catch different pokemon. There are multiple "triggers" on either board that will activate different abilities, such as powering up your ball, or allowing you to catch pokemon or evolve them. Once you get a good game going you can watch your points rack up. A worthwile purchase if you get it.

I bought this game and it was so stupid!

I bought Pokemon Pinball just because of Pikachu. The box has Pikachu on it and it looks stupid. Anything with Pikachu or a Poke Ball is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo stupid and this game has Pikachu sitting in a Poke Ball. That is even stupider. I thought Pikachu disliked Poke Balls. He didn't seem to care about being in a Poke Ball in Red and Blue or in this game he shouldn't be in a Poke Ball either. I hate Pikachu and Pikachu is on the box for this game! He isn't on the stinking rumble cartridge thank god. I played and Pikachu was on the start screen. I closed my eyes and picked Game Start. I picked a table and started in Viridian Forest. I found a Pokemon in Catch Em Mode. It was Pikachu! I took out the game and sold it! The Pokedex is the worst and Pikachu isn't only on the box and start up screen, he is also in the game itself. I sold this game because of Pikachu and I hate it and always will!
