I cannot believe how down people are on this

I loved the first game..... Big time. I pre ordered this expansion pack and am not disappointed. I am totally amazed at how people are complaining about this. Sure, it could have been a $20 expansion, not a $30, but hey, I paid.

As far as game play goes, its more of the same that everyone loved. It is more in the vein of HL2 episode 1. It is truly an episode, and continuation. If folks want to continue to have great games for the PC, they should stop complaining about 1) the weapons, 2) the gameplay, 3) its too short, 4) all sorts of other benign things.

Its not a surprise that more and more development is going to consoles, as PC gamers are such massive whiners. This game is a perfect example. It is just as good as the first installment of FEAR. Its got lots of new things to learn, and the story continues. The firefights are great, the new weapons are fine. Heck, the weapons from the first game would have been fine. What do people want, nuclear missles?

The graphics are just as awesome, and the story leaves you hanging. The same people that complain that its too short, are the ones that seem to complain about it taking 4 years for a new episode of Half Life 2. And then they complain its too short.

This stuff takes time to build, hundreds of people work on these games. The FEAR team didn't make us wait 4 years, but barely 12 months, and a good 5 hour episode came out. I'll pay for that.

I'm just astonished at how whiny people are. Most are 14 year old kids who have no clue. But even experienced folks should know what this is about. Personally, this is a great installment on the FEAR franchise, and I hope there are many more to come.

great expansion

I truly loved the original FEAR: the intense action sequences I just couldnt get enough of, and to add to it, a game that gets into your head not just by "uh oh a bad guy jumped out at me from nowhere" but by supernatural events, yada yada yada you all know how it goes with FEAR.

I just finished playing the expansion, and I can say I am just as impressed as I was when I played the original. This is NOT a sequel and I believe by no means did they did try to make it one... its an expansion, expanding upon the original with plenty of new weapons, baddies, and six new intervals to play in.

The new bad guys, yea several of them just looked like re-hashes of old ones, but the invisible super-demons or whatever they are, are downright creepy (and devastating). and several of the walking-heavy armor bad guys with the rockets... those fights were sweet and pretty intense.

I loved several of the new weapons... who can't love the destruction of the minigun, i just wish we could have had it earlier in game =) or the Laser gun has become one of my fav's.

The game I dont think was too short, as an expansion. I think it was just right. The HL2 episode 1 I think was a little short, but not this one.

Sure, I guess if you just run through the entire levels skipping all exploration and just running from one fight sequence to another, then I guess you could run through it in a couple hours or so.

But, the name of the game is not only to have some very exciting fighting scenes but also the exploration portion of it in between where, i dont know about everybody else but I take it pretty slow, creeping around each corner, kicking in each door because I have no idea what might be lurking around or what kind of paranormal activities might be waiting. So, I dont remember the exact hours I spent playing it but I was certainly not disappointed in terms of the length.

I myself do think on the most part it might be a slight bit scarier than original just that I think some of the first game was a lot of the guy/girl walking across a door or window,etc.. when, this one... well, i wouldnt want to give anything away but they definitely seemed to throw a lot into it at times.

So yes, I enjoyed it just as much as original and definitely recommend it to any fan of FEAR. I wasnt disappointed.

Not all of us have a high speed connection, so I will take all the new single player levels that I can get.

Just as good

If you love F.E.A.R. (and who doesn't) you will love F.E.A.R. Extraction Point. You will still get creeped out.

Great game. Love the effects and the lighting. The red eyed monsters are a challenge. What is Mapes doing here? I thought he died outside the vault from being shot<< that's the only odd quirk.
Buy this game!

What can I say, it is more of a good thing. If you liked the original then buying this game is a no brainer. Great action and weapons(a couple of new ones) and some new enemies. You need a good computer to play it.

More fear please

The only problem with this expansion pack is that it is too short.
Really a fun game, I hope they will be making another one ASAP

More of the same - and that's a good thing

Yes as many reviewers below have negatively stated it's just more of the same. So what's wrong with that? FEAR was so great that more of the same is a good thing. The same characters, the same weapons and the same wonderfully dark ending. If anything this extension is even more creepy than the original. The only thing I didn't understand was how they brought Norton Mapes back, but the game is so good it matters not.

You should FEAR not having this game! This is the best FPS I've played in YEARS. This expansion was kind of short IMO but well worth the buy. Can't wait for more. FAR les bad language in this expansion. The main game went overboard and I'm not easily offended by language.

LOVE THIS GAME

The story line is very twisty, it doesnt involve u in the start but later on u keep figuring out very wierd and twisted things, its very nice, i love the game. It freaked me out alot too :D.
