From reading all the good reviews here and on the biased(I think) nintendo power, I thought that this would be a pretty good game. I just got into zelda games, and I just got ocarina a week ago and im now stuck on water temple:), so I decided to try something else. I bought this game and took it with me on my trip to the Grand Canyon. Consider this: it's a game on the portable but not high tech gameboy color. Certainly not state of the art graphics here, but I think I enjoyed this game much better than some other games on other systems. Don't think that just because this was on GBC, that it's nowhere as good as a game on Xbox or Gamecube, in fact, some games on those systems are plain horrible.
Only don't buy this game if you are expecting an action game with big battles, most involving your sword. This is more of an intellectual game. Oracle of Ages takes more brainpower than this game does, but I liked this game better, because I never got stuck. You won't need the guide for this, but you WILL need the guide for Ages.

The Zelda: Seasons game is cooler than ages because it has less frustration. E.X. You get to a dungeon... but you have to go to the past to get in, but you don't have the harp thingy-magigger. ....Get my drift? hope I was some help!!!!!!

This is a really fun game. Since it is the only Zelda game I have played before, I don't know how easy it is compared to the others, but it isn't very hard, especially the second time you play it. I really sugjest you buy it!
Just as good as the Link to the Past.

This is a great game. It links with Oracle of Ages for an even bigger story without requiring a link cable and two game boys. It uses a system of secrets to trade info from one game to another. This game looks the same as the old Link to the Past for the original game boy but is in color and even provides some animations. If you cannot get both games get Seasons for more action and Ages for more puzzles. Don't worry the games are not the same, they are each unique with different stories and maps. This game even has some of the same classic zelda music. The difficulty level is just right. Along with some of the same old weapons like the shield or power bracelet you can get new ones like the magic boomerang or the slingshot. Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages are two games that you should definently add to your collection.
An enjoyable Zelda you can take with you

I notice a pattern with Zelda releases: when they're on Nintendo's main machines likes the Nintendo 64(Ocarina of Time) or the Wii(Twilight Princess), there's an unbelievable amount of hype and press that kicks in. The handheld stuff though gets raves from fans yet they barely register in terms of hype. Originally planned as a trilogy, Nintendo decided to make Link's next handheld adventure be a dual deal with Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages released simultaneously. Essentially they're the same game with minor alterations but boy do you have fun regardless.
Story: Each game revolves around the need to rescue a princess and in this case it's Din, the Oracle of Seasons. With her kidnapped, the seasons are thrown out of balance which can potentially mean that there could be endless winter or quick shifts from summer to fall and back again. And of course it's up to Link to rescue her from Onyx.
Graphics: Keep in mind that this is Game Boy Color so it probably won't have the dazzle that Minish Cap managed to pull off. Hell, it doesn't even look as sharp as Link to the Past. What it is though is vibrant and colorful and this game in particular just looks so rich. The game also has some anime-style still cut scenes to tell the story which is a nice touch.
Sound/Music: Obviously no voice acting since this is GBC, not to mention a Zelda game. Where the game shines though as the series always has is in its music. While it probably doesn't have that instant purchase that Ocarina or Link to the Past was, it's nonetheless an enjoyable soundtrack that fits the mood for places perfectly.
Gameplay: Zelda games on the GBC are pretty much the same as something like Link to the Past but in one sole difference: your inventory. While in LttP, you had to actually go to your screen for each individual item. Ocarina and onwards made it so that you can carry 3. Here it's 2. While it's weird to get used to, some bosses require you change items on the fly and I had no problem. There's some new items such as Rod of Seasons which you can use to progress in the game. An example is something is only accessible if you freeze a lake and provide a pathway then go back to spring and get the item.
The big thing here is the password system. Essentially Seasons and Ages were meant to be bought at the same time; unlike Pokemon where you bought one and a friend bought the other, in order to get the most of Oracle series, you beat one and you get a password. Jot it down, start up the other and input the password and continue from there. Also, NPC's can give you passwords which you tell to people in the other game to get special items. While it gets slightly tedious to have to go back and forth all the time, the items tend to be well worth it.
Now for people who are wondering, Seasons is the more accessible in terms of new Zelda players or in difficulty. This is more action-oriented and it's a bit more forgiving. So if you're more of the action type, pick Seasons. But in the end, you should just buy both since you'll probably think "well since I beat one of them..."

This game is totally awesome! I haven't beaten the game yet, I'm on level 6. Overall Oracle of Seasons is not very puzzle-challenging. I have used a walkthrough for a few puzzles that are a little more difficult. The bosses are hard, but not so hard that you won't ever beat it, although I have spent a day or two trying to beat bosses, which I eventually do. All in all as long as you talk to many people and remember the important things they say, it isn't very hard to discover items or find dungeons. I rate this game two thumbs up, and I recommend you purchase it along with Oracle of Ages, which works together with Oracle of Seasons, but is much much more challenging.

this is a great game it is a lot like Zelda on SNES the other game Ages the story is the same but in seasons you can change what season so if you need to cross water you cange time to winter you need to cross a ditch make it fall and walk over the leaves and in fall you can get mushrooms you get seeds and plant them to get more items so it is innovative and fun plus when you finish one of the game you get this code that you tell this dude and you get the items and the amount of hearts you had before and more bosses this is a must have for a Zelda fan or someone who wants fun this is one of the last great GameBoy Color and it looks great on GBA i have it so if you dont get this game you must be insane!!!
Great Game

This is one of the best Zelda games there of the whole series. I've had it for about two weeks and I've played through it twice! This game isn't small either. There are so many differant things that you can get and do compaired to Zelda: Link's Awakening. Link's Awakening takes about 3 hours if you're good. Seasons takes at least 10 to beat and longer to get all the items and rings. This games is harder than the others which is a plus. I was getting tired of easy bosses. This is deffinatly a must buy if you like a mix of puzzles and fighting.

Oracle Of Seasons is AWESOME.Even though I am only in the second level I love the game.I would definately recommend this game over Oracle of Ages for anyone who is trying to decide between the two. P.S. In the second level to beat KING DONDOGO use a bomb on him and then use the power bracelet to lift him up and throw him on to the spikes.
