As a die-hard Animorphs fan, I really, really wanted to like this game. Unfortunately, the game just has too many flaws to make it worthwhile.
First, and perhaps most importantly considering the license, this game just doesn't feel or play like an Animorphs game; it plays like a fairly bad Pokemon clone that had the Animorphs license grafted onto it at a late stage of development. If you want to acquire an animal morph, do you do it by sneaking up on it in human form and touching it? No; you do it by beating the tar out of it in morph form, just like you would a Taxxon or Hork-Bajir. If you get the tar beaten out of you while in morphed form, do you die? No; you revert to human form (and must immediately morph into something else to continue the fight), and you lose the ability to ever use that morph form again, unless you can find and beat up a different animal of the same species. If you lose all of your morph forms in this way, the game is over. This isn't Animorphs, Ubi Soft; this is Pokemon--only the Pokemon games got the mechanics much, much better.
The plot isn't actively bad, but it's certainly uninspired. The graphics and sound are at least passable for a Game Boy game. But the game contains one simply unforgivable technical flaw; there's no battery backup system--instead, you must write down and re-enter sixteen-character passwords to save your progress. Hello, Ubi Soft? The 1980s are over. Please join us in the 2000s at your earliest convenience. Thank you for your cooperation.
Animorphs fans will find this game to be a major letdown, and non-Animorphs fans will probably find it simply pointless. You'd be much better served buying Pokemon Gold or Silver along with a few Animorphs books.

The Animorphs game is challenging so I would recommend this to people who are 8 and up or to those who have long attention spans. This game has 5 challengeing levels In which you have to defeat the Yeerks,Tiny Alien Slugs Which crawl into your brain and take total control over you,and thier leader Visser Three.{The only yeerk ever to obtaine an Andalite body.} In each level you play as one of the animorph characters Cassie, Jake, Marco, and Ax.{An Andalite. It has a humans upper body, a scorpions tail, a deers body, and it has no mouth because They eat with thier hooves. they also have two almond shape eyes and have two eyes on stalks.}Another member of the group is Tobias, you wont get to play as him because he is a nothlit, a person trapped in a animal body,But he does give you helpful hints and clues. Which reminds me there is a time limit to morphing,Two Hours, if you stay in morph past the time limit you will become a nothlit and the game will end, But you don't need to worry because Tobias will let you know when your time is almost up. In the game you have to acomplish tasks to get Animal morphs such as, you have to get the snake before you can get stronger morphs such as the lion and the elephant. As I said before it's challengeing but it's worth it.
Don't be fooled, Animorphs fans!

I am an Animorphs fan so I bought this game, but this game is not much like Animorphs at all. It is more like a cheap copy of Pokemon! You battle aliens and other animals with different attacks. The attacks can lower defence, lower accuracy, lower attack power, or weaken the alien. The attacks will almost always miss, so battles could go on for hours at a time! This may seem like a strategy game, but there is almost no stragtegy involved! You can morph anywhere you want and you don't even need to worry about the two hour time limit! Besides that, the game is really hard to save and the directions aren't clear. On the first level you have no idea what you are supposed to be looking for! The manual says almost nothing and the game doesn't even tell you what anything about the level! I have had this game for over a year and I still don't know what to do on the first level! Trust me, wandering around aimlessly is incredibly boring after the first few minutes! Saving is very frusturating and it takes so long it isn't even worth it! And unlike the Animorphs books, this game has a terrible storyline! Don't let the name fool you, every aspect of this game stinks!

This RPG wannabe is not worth the money you pay for it. Once again this is one of those games you're better off burning your money on than purchasing. If you've ever wondered how bad a game could possibly be, all you have to do is play this game. Because it's just not bad, it's abyssmal. The horrible RPG set up results in you either getting killed far too easy, or not knowing what you're doing. I never thought I'd see a game that I'd actually despise with every ounce of my being. But this is one of them.

I am an Animorphs fan, so I bought this game thinking it would be fun. I was wrong. The directions aren't clear so you don't know what you have to do in the first level, which is the level I am stuck on. I don't know what I have to discover or do to get to the next level. I can't do anything on it and it has become boring. Don't buy the game if you want to be entertained! Beware, Animorphs fans, beware!
The worst game I've ever played.

This is the worst game I've ever played. I am a huge fan of the Animorphs books, however, the makers of this game obviously did not bother to read any of the book series. This game is a Pokémon rip off where you collect different morphs but leaves out important features such as experience points. This game is an insult to the intelligence of Animorphs fans and K.A. Applegate's talent as a writer.

My kids are fans of the series and do enjoy the game very much. Don't expect next generation graphics or play here, this is a typical gameboy color offering, it would be nice if they made and Animorphs for Advance, but for now, this is the best there is.

I really don't like this game! It's graphics are really OK, but the plot is very pointless. You go looking for....... well you don't even know. I 've had the game for about 1 year, and every time I pick it up, feeling I can beat the level, I can't. It's a real waste. Like I said, I'd give the graphics about a 4, but that's the only good thing about it that I can find.
A great game!

This game is worth the amount of money! Even though I think it could have been better with graphics, it was still a worth-while game to buy and play!
