TONS OF FUN

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 3 / 3

This game is a lot of fun because of all the hard levels and hard monsters that stomp, fly, walk, run, and even fire things at you. The only thing is is that you can't save the game so you could go back to it later. But it is diffenitly worth the money!

My first game

This was the first game I EVER played. It really is cool, with 12
levels and plenty of secrets. Like in the third level, if you go all the way to the left and jump, it revels a block that will take you up to the cealing to get a bunch of coins, or that you can go inside some of the flower pots. I've been playing this game for 9 years, and I'm certain I don't know all the secrets. Anywho, people are complaining that you can't save: here's the question: why do you need to? The game can be beaten in thirty minutes...non-saving just adds to the replay value.

A good but difficult game

This game is fun but it's very hard. After you get the hang of it becomes a little easier. After a year of having it I finally beat it and it's pretty fun. There aren't that good of graphics, but it would be perfect for a little kid. P.S. Its not impossible to beat world 3-3 all you have to do is try a little harder!

This is an OK GAME

Super marioland is an old mario game. The graphics are OK, but you get sick of playing it. There is no action and you can't save your game. You also have to start over when you die. There is no choosing what to play. You just start at level 1 and go on. I wouldn't recommend this game to real nintendo gamers of the MODERN WORLD.

A Mario that aged...

This was one of the first games released for the Game Boy. And being that the Game Boy dates back to '89, its understandalbe that the thing you will notice the most is the graphics--they're not good! The tried to make it so it looked like a miniture version of Super Mario Bros., but doesn't exactly look like it. Also there are only 12 levels. That's it! There's still some Mario genius in there, but by the time you notice it, the games over.
This is still a decent game and worth the money IF you get it cheap. This is probably one of the few Marios that aged. More like a testament to how far portable gaming has come, than how good this game is, that makes it a classic.

Fun and innovative!

You may cry: There are only 12 levels. In this game, though, the levels are longer and difficult. It is extremely fun and somewhat like the classic Mario game with the typical Daisy is captured plot. This is just plain good. What else is there to say?

A WONDERFULLY GOOD HANDHELD TITLE 8.5 OUT OF 10

Time is not kind to many games, many games you knew and loved those many years ago have become outdated and forgotten. This is always very sad. But some games miraculously stand the test of time and are never or very rarely effected. Mario games just so happen to fall into those categories, they hardly ever get damaged by time. But is that really a bad thing? Sure, I'm mostly an Xbox or Playstation fan these days, but I still like to whip out my old Nintendo systems and have a great time playing the oldies. This Game Boy title is still remarkably a lot of fun despite the fact it was made almost twenty years ago.
WHAT THE GAME IS: If you've played any of the Mario games on the NES, or ports of the originals on Game Boy, you know it's the standard Italian plumber character you play, platforming, squishing enemies by stomping on them, rescuing the damsel in distress, eating mushrooms for power ups, defeating bosses, and trying to avoid being killed by different enemies.
GRAPHICS: Looks like an uglier NES game, it doesn't really have the graphics and colors of the old games, which is probably the biggest letdown of the game.
MUSIC: Standard cheery Mario music, you know the tunes.
SOUND: The weird jumping sounds, squishing of enemies sounds, and coin-collecting sounds
GAMEPLAY: Platforming works great, jumping is good, it's easy in some parts and frustrating in others, gameplay is very nice, and is still a lot of fun despite the almost two decade-old concepts of Mario.
OVERALL: Very fun, still great to pick up and play no matter who you are. Hardly feels aged, but the main problems consist of save issues and lower-quality NES graphics. But still, who hates the adventures of this Italian plumber? I mean seriously, it doesn't matter what kind of fanboy of what console you are, you just have a natural tendency to like Mario games. And if you don't you're a horrible person.

I still highly enjoy this game, and would recommend it to anyone who likes a good old-fashioned game of Mario, but everyone likes Mario, so I would recommend it to everyone. Oh, and you don't save Peach in this game, you save a chick named Daisy. Buy this game if you still have at least a Game Boy Advance because this game is just too good to pass up.

Could be better!

The first question I would have for the makers of this game is why can't I save the progress I make? Once you lose all of your lives, you have to start all over at the beginning, which gets extremely tiresome. I had Super Mario Land on my Super Nintendo and loved it so I bought this one, figuring it would be just as good... wrong! I would definitely not recommend this game if you are looking for something challenging and fun. As for me, I have put Mario away and am currently working on Donkey Kong Land, which is much more fun AND it lets you save your game!

My 8 year old son states "it's fun and very enjoyable. There are lots of monsters to jump on!"

Very, Very Fun

This game is so fun! It really can`t get boring because their are always new levels to go to. If you tried it and you thought it was boring because you keeped losing just give it a chance and play some more. I noticed the more you play the better you get.
