If you love GTA 3, you'll hate GTA 2

I bought this game because I loved GTA 3. GTA 2 was a big disappointment, and here's why:

1) The cars and character are hard to control
2) The graphics are reminiscent of 80's arcade games (like APB, only APB was more fun)
3) When you start going fast, the view zooms out (this is very disorienting)
4) Often you can't see your character/car because it's blocked by a building
5) The view is from directly overhead; when you turn, your character/car turns, not the world (i.e. if you're pointing south, left is right, right is left; if pointing west, right is up, left is down, etc.)
6) Everyone else in the game world is stupid - people run out in front of cars, cars run into you for no apparent reason. And there are way too many of them.
7) It costs money to save the game (or at least it does the first time; I wouldn't know - I couldn't stand playing it long enough to earn enough money to save)

To it's credit, the music and commercials are fun, like in GTA 3 (hardly a reason to buy it, though). I would only recommend this game if you see it in the bargain bin and you are really bored. Other people seem to have loved this game - personally I don't see it. Don't bother with this game - get GTA 3 and/or GTA Vice City instead.

i have windows 95. i installed it and it said that my computer had no compatable graphics cards.

This game wasn't bad, but GTA 3 must've been ten times better. I had fun with it, but I beat it in a day. Interesting storyline, though.

You aren`t going to buy this, right?

To be a PC game I would expect it to be like in the xbox, I mean that you could see the person and you could see the things in the way that the character sees them. This is just as PS1 and that`s not such a good console...

I did not really like this game. I liked it very much the first 2 hours but then it got very boring. The graphics are terrable compared to games of today and there isint much of a storyline behind the game. The law enforcement gets on you for every crime you commit but some NPC can steal a car right in front of the cops and they wouldint care. They are really annoying. You have to use up alot of cash to save a game and I also find that everyone I meet cusses at me which is annoying too. The biggest problem of this game is it is incredibly hard to find your way to the church, automotive repair center, etc. And when your not playing and you're just in the play game, quit, options menu they put up these pictures of people looking at you with guns or something just to take up space its really stupid.

Its fun for the first 5 hours but it gets really boring really fast. The graphics are poor and theres no real plot or storyline to it. Its very annoying to have cops on your tail and its really hard to get the the next level. The entire game is filled with pointless pictures of people pointing guns at you just to fill up space. Its a pretty cheap.

Don't let the three stars fool you, this is a really fun game, like when you go on a crime spree it's fun to shoot everything in sight :). It's just that the game is nowhere close to being as good as GTA 3 or GTA Vice City will be (I just know it) This game is really fun but don't be looking for a GTA 3, this game is worth the 20 bucks it's sold for at most stores... but dont' buy it for anymore

This is a great game but it gets old way to fast. It isnt worth the money if it was cheaper i would say buy it because despite how boring it gets it is fun for about the first month. The graphics are descent and the lack of plot doesnt really matter because its fun enough just shooting things and stealing cars. So i say wait for the price to go down then buy it

This game is no GTA 3 i tell ya. I grew up on this game so i have a weird bond with it. But if you are going to it looking for something just as good as GTA 3, go else where. Same name, but if you haven't been playing the games from the start, this one is not for you. It must have the coolest intro scene ever. It is live action footage filmed with a guy that looks just like the guy in GTA3. it was filmed in SF. I left GTA 2 for GTA3. And then, there was no going back. I would reccomend this game for true diehard fans, but not very many other people. Yes, it is a classis, just like GTA 3. I say, those people at Rockstar sure know what their doing. The System requirements are so low, i could play it on my 4 year old Fujitsu Lifebook! Its fun, with a good story line. The graphics are so outdated. But after you get into the game, it is a lot of fun. It is a gamble, You will either love it or ya wont

This seems more like Grand Theft Auto 2.0. Much of the gameplay is the same and the missions not much different. The graphics have improved and the sound is better but if you have the original then there isn't much point in buying this.

As a stand-alone game it rocks. The radio channels are hilarious as ever and morbid sense of humor will no doubt appeal to most people. This game does not invoke violence in anyone at all so don't worry. When it was first released the slogan was "Study this game." With the word "study" blacked out. I guess this is because there was uproar over the first game. Man, if they thought that this was violent, they would certainly freak big-time over GTA3.
