Rainbow Six Rogue Spear really stinks. It is really not worth your money. Unless of Course you like to get mad and frustrated. The controls really stink and so does the gameplay. but the graphics are pretty good.

One word: SLOW. PC version is fun and exciting, but the Dreamcast release seems to hang and is frustrating. Rent it before you buy it!

As much as the game will try to convince you otherwise, this game basically pits you in the role of the leader of a swat team rescuing hostages. Most of the campaigns revolve around this plot. What makes the game absolutely Amazing is the beautiful sceneries and complex rendering of battlegrounds. One mission pits you in the bombed out ruins of a Serbian town where you're goal is to rescue NATO officials from a renegade Serbian army force. Another mission has you sneaking down the tight corridors of a jumbo jet liner taking out a team of armed hijackers while the plane is refueling. The game (along with Rainbow 6) is the James Bond 007 of the Dreamcast system and is definitely worth a try.
My complaints are few. I think many of the new games take advantage of all the controls available on the Dreamcast controller. While making for more complex games, it also makes for steep learning curves to really be able to play (and enjoy) the game. I spent maybe 2 or 3 hours just trying to learn how to effectively control my individual group leader and much longer learning how to control my "team". The difficulty also increases pretty dramatically between missions. Also, unless you have an RF-adapter, the VGA plug in, or a large screen TV, the small text will be hard to read on your screen.
not as good as rainbow six...

This is a great 1st person shooter. Although this game has a great plot, game play, great controls (hard to learn) and a good overall playability, it does have its weaknesses. The multiplayer is not nearly as good as in the PC version. But, the James Bond style deathmach that it does have is still fun. The Graphics are James Bondish too (like N64) but this does not hinder the overall playability. If you are looking for a 1st person shooter that takes thinking, then this is your game. The controlls are complicated but they are easy enough to get used to. I gave it a 4 because of the graphics and multiplayer but if those don't matter to you then i am sure you will give it a 5.
Better than Medal of Honor!

Well, I consider myself almost an expert on most games, especially 1st person shooters. I previously reviewed Medal of Honor Underground for the PS, I meant to give it a 5 but accidentily put a 3. I used to be a loyal Sony guy, but after the mess with the PS2, I've changed sides. This game is possibly the best FPS I've ever played on a console, I say that because Half-Life Counter-Strike for the computer is 10 times better. This game sports excellent graphics, realistic sound and a fun factor that is not measurable! I haven't beaten it yet, but when I do I'm sure I'll start from scratch and have more fun the second time. Not many FPSs have a lot of replay value, but this one does! The control is a little complicated as was the case with Rainbow Six for the Dreamcast, but any true gamer will have the controls down just fine in an hour tops. My advice: BUY IT, BUY IT, BUY IT!
Much better than Rainbow 6

I think that Rogue Spear has made many improvments from Rainbow 6. One major improvment is firepower. You get more machine guns and now you can get sniper rifles. Also you get much cooler costumes like blue and street2. Another cool thing is the game includes Urban Ops. Much like how Rainbow 6 for DC included Eagle Watch. This game is well worth buying.
Forgive the controls and play the game!!

You heard me! The controls take a minute or two to learn, and the menus are hard to scroll through without a keyboard, but if you can get past these points this game can be VERY fun and intense. Fun because you get to rescue hostages, and intense because one or two shots and your dead! Nothing's more fun than running through a mission with different people, I.E. be the person that runs in there and shoots the guards or the person that snipes from atop a hidden point... if you REALLY can't get over the controls, please get it on the PC, the controls are much better!

If I could I would rate this 100 out of 5 stars. You can do just about anything. Better than Rainbow Six graphics and gameplay wise. If that doesnt impress you enough to buy it heres how to get the cheat menu for people like me who love stuff like teamgod mode.
