If you're one of those closet F1 racers, come on out! F1 Championship Season is as good as it gets. Although it takes a lot of PC horsepower to get the best performance out of it (I had to upgrade my video card to 64mb), it's worth every dollar. The graphics are stunning, but the best part is how realistic the car's dynamics are. Be prepared to look stupid the first time you drive it. If you don't use things like traction control, anti-lock brakes, and the other driver "help" goodies, you'll find out how hard driving a real F1 car is. Get used to spins, sliding through turns and crashes. And that's on dry roads...don't even think of turning on the rain. I have perhaps 5 other driving simulators, like the Need for Speed series, Sports Car GT and several Nascar ones, but nothing even comes close. Use it with a force feedback wheel and you'll see what I mean. It's as real as you can get without putting your life in danger!
Try it, then watch the 2001 F1 races on Speedvision. It'll give you a whole new perspective on Formula One racing. The tracks in the simulator (I can't in good concience call it a game) are so real, when you watch the actual races on TV, you'll feel like you've already been there.
It's the best of the best.
I thought EA products were suppose to be good!!

I got the game started. Some adverts during the installation told me that ALL the games apart from F1 2000 were excellent. Anyway, the video was absolutely bad. I have played FIFA 2001 and Rugby 2001. The video in those games were exciting and good. But in F1 2000 it just shows a bit of pit stops by the Benetton crews and it showed no F1 action at all!! That gave me a really bad impression. Then I go to quick race in Indianapolis because I never raced in that track before. The graphic and sounds were terrible. There are no sound at you shift down (unlike GP3 when you have a sound and the flame from the exhaust) and when you get in to the grass, it's a good idea to have the mrak in the grass but the graphic was too poor. There are some good stuff too, but not many. First of all, the voice of Jim Rosenthile and pit crews are excellent. You could also knock down the board showing you the distance from the corner. I havn't had a wet race yet in F1 2000 so I can't rate on that but it seems almost impossible to finish the race. GP3 is simply way better.
Very realistic game.

Great fun for a F1 fanatic. Graphics are great if you have the power. Audio is wonderfull also. It shows how much talent a F1 driver has, I cant keep up with the leaders. Bus as stated else wear it is great to race a track on the PC them watch the actual 2001 race.
