Couldn't get it to work

I bought the game as a gift so you know how I felt Christmas day when I installed the game, got ready to play and when the green flag dropped there I sat. The steering wouldn't work and the brake pedal thinks it's the gas pedal. I called tech support 2 times, was on hold forever(not a toll free call) and received 2 different answers as to why it wasn't working. To which neither worked. My system is a Pentium III with 128 Mg Ram amd 20G hard drive. I don't think that's the problem. I've tried 2 different wheels. First was a side winder and now I have a Logitech. It works with another game I have so I see no reason for it not to work. If anyone else can give a suggestion I would appreciate it. I really want to play this game.

DTR Sprints, puts a capital "Q" on quirky. For whatever reason, some wheel and peddle combinations just don't make Sprints respond. But when you finally get your machine set up to Sprint's liking, be prepared for a battered ego -- unless you just happen to be in those 2-3% who can excel on any sim right out of the box. This sim will challenge you!

While anyone could drive around a track in the earlier DTR sim, Sprints will tax you, until you get the hang of it. Hit the throttle too hard and you'll end up in the wall. Close the throttle too hard and you'll end up in the wall. Do nothing at all and you'll end up in the wall. But spinter's steer with throttle and until you get your right foot coordinated, you'll -- you guessed it -- end up in the wall. For whatever reason, I found out I do better with a joy-stick than wheel-peddle... Go figure.

Oh well, it's fun and inexpensive. Graphics and compatibility seem to strain some computers, but, hey, it's cheap! ONe redeeming quality is that the basic setups work pretty good, so you don't have to start off being a mechanical genius too... Fun sim!

Post Script: With a better adapted (but cheaper) computer, most of my concerns went away. A wonderfully enjoyable sim, particularly considering that DTR Sprints is now widely available at discount stores for a very nominal price. The joystick still beats the wheel-peddle combination for me on the ¼ mile tracks. And a few tracks like Eldora and Hagerstown, where I'd really like to do much better, are still very challenging, but not because of the sim - I just can't drive. A few hours with this makes you want to dial up the WoO schedule and go watch the big-dogs run... Especially if you've got your sub-woofer cranked a tad.

I thought Nascar racing games were the best. Well, I was wrong! I've had the game for about a year and a half now, and I've been racing with drivers like Sammy Swindell, Steve and Mark Kinser, Danny Lasoski, etc. The "Big Dogs" are pretty easy to beat, that is, if your good at it. It doesn't take long to learn and understand the game. If this isn't the best sprint car racing game in the world, what is?

THIS IS THE BEST RACING GAME EVER.IM A SPRINT CAR DRIVER MY SELF AND THIS GAME IS THE MOST REALISTIC TO THE REAL THING.GRAPHICS IS AWSOME,U CAN SET UP YOUR CAR LIKE THE REAL THING.THE ACTION IS RIGHT ON,I RACE WITH 8 OF MY FRIENDS FROM WORK ONLINE 4TIMES A WEEK.ALL THE GOOD TRACKS AND HISTORIC TRACKS ARE ON HERE.IF YOU HAVE EVER WANTED TO RACE AT KNOXVILLE OR ELDORA AND DONT HAVE A REAL SPRINT CAR THEN GET THIS GAME AND FOLLOW YOUR DREAM CAUSE ITS LIKE BEING THERE,I KNOW I HAVE RACED THE REAL THING AND BOTH TRACKS.

I would like to give you a review. This game has been scheduled to be released with 5 different release dates. I don't believe we will see it this year.

Sprint Car Racer

I have been in sprint car racing ever since I was 5 years old. I not only watched it on t.v. but my dad had his own car on the Outlaw tour, maybe some of you now who he is by the number of his car or who drove for my dad. 32u was my dad's car and a number of drivers raced for him: Jac Haudenschild, Johnny Herrera, Keith Kauffman, Rocky Hodges, Joe Gearte, Lee Brewer Jr. , and many other drivers. So what I am really writting about is that I want too buy this game, but my bank card will not work over the internet, so I was wondering if Amazon.com would consider doing money orders.

I keep seeing the game on TNN's World of Outlaws telecasts. They said the summer, then September 1st, then September 21st, then the 27th. I want to play the god damn game!
