Too Hard!!!

1 Rating: 1, Useful: 2 / 6

I've had this game for 1 year and have only gotten past the 1st mission using codes. There are 70+ enemies per level, and if the alarm goes off, this can increase to 130+. The only new weapons are a rifle that can be heard across the entire level, the same useless submachinegun, impractical harpoons, knives, pistols, and unlethal lethal injections. This game is so ... frustrating. It has okay garphics and sound, but the missions are impossible.

GRRRREAT GAME ... but Windows XP not supported

Dont get me wrong .. this is a grrreat game. I had played it earlier and this was just a superb game to play.
But be warned .. this will not runn on WINDOWS XP. It runs on Windows 95 and 98 only.
So before buying, please ensure that you have windows 95 or 98. This review is just for this functionality .. otherwise this game just ROCKS.

I have finished the first commandos and it was good. This one is similar to the first with new features and weapons and stuff. There's nothing wrong with this game technically. It runs fine on my 450 MHz 128 MB Ram computer with a VooDoo 2 card. I also play online at Mplayer and I recommend you have a DSL/Cable connection or better. Each player (up to 4) gets to control an individual and work together to finish a mission. However, if you have 56K, it is so slow and laggy that it takes like 1 - 2 hours to finish a mission. Don't even bother trying. Another bad thing about multiplayer on Mplayer was the lack of people. I go on their on weekends during peak times and I can only find like 7 people at the most that want to play this game. But even solo playing, it is still fun. They give you neat objectives like blow up things and rescue people and stuff. This game is mostly about TIMING TIMING TIMING and staying out of visibility from the enemies and knowing which character to use at the given moment. It's pretty fun and I'd say that you get what you pay for on this game.

Engaging, thrilling and challenging action

See the above.

Apart from more difficulty levels to choose from, I can't think of a single thing that is wrong with Commandos.

If you are intrigued by the whole behind the lines commando soldier thing - this is it!

I love the ingenious differences that the cast has. The 2D graphics are a great sight in a world where 3D rules. The concept and AI of when, where and how enemies become alerted to your presence is very clever and realistic. And the list of great inventions just goes on.

It deserves every bit of the five stars I have given it.

A nice game!

Of the most exciting games I have ever played. The best thing in it is that you have to THINK before you make any move. You need to be accurate and aware of the surrounding soldiers. You shouldn't let the "ALARM..ALARM.." go out or you will have to face more patrols with the ugly bald sergent on the lead, that is if you survive. It will make it harder for you to complete the mission. The game has remarkable graphics. Great music; especially the one that plays in the pause menu.

This game is fun and very hard to beat unlike other games this game is actually a challenge for me to beat. For that I rate it a five star game. I hope the new commandos game is much harder, but not impossable to beat.

Challenging.

I received this game from a friend for my 14th birthday a few days ago and have played it. I will tell you this much, it's very challenging. It may look easy, but it isn't.Other than that i found the graphics and the sounds to be fairly realistic, but I have alot of fun playing this game.

A Great Follow Up To The First One - If Not Better

It is always hard to follow up such a great game as Commandos : Behind Enemy Line was. But some how they have done it and very well indeed. This follow up has reached such high standards as the first one did, if not higher. This is great. It just carries on the first one with manely just a lot more missions on it but also a few extra wicked features and ways to pley the game which are all worth it. Havent you always wanted to be able to capture an enemy soldier who's friend has just opened fire at you? Well now you can! You can move the soldier to where ever you want with in a certain range and they will not fire at you, which is such a great touch to the game and makes it much like a real life situation. An extra from the injection, you can you some ethanol and kill then that way. It just adds to the variety of different ways to do it. One of the funniest parts of the game is to be able to hide and then throw rocks at the enemy and see them look round at you to see nothing. Another great touch that is added to this is the cigarette box. You either get given one a the start or you can take it from a dead body. It is just used like a decoy. YOu just lay it down to attract them and then creep up from the behind and they have no idea. Its i funny in a way that they have no idea what you are doing. The locations are as good as the ones that you are put in when in the first one. They are that good. There is not really much else i can say but it is all in my review about the first one. Lets just hope that Commandos 2 will live up to these two and i think that it will!
