Looking Great!

After seeing several previews and hundreds of screenshots, I have concluded that this game will be a success.

The game is based upon an isle inhabited by rogue creatures, with no master to rule them. You, god, are the only one there. You must interact with the creatures through your own creature. Your creature must complete challenges to prove his worth. One is to bring up a little duckling. This duck is like your creature's child. It is only taught by your creature so it is sort of a reflection of a refection of you as a god. This is one of the aspects I find most appealing, that my "child" will become a "parent."

I just purchased this game a few hours ago. I hadn't really intended to buy it, seeing as how frusterated I got with the original B&W, but next I knew I was digging in my wallet for that nearly worn out piece of plastic.

LionHead has seemed to have worked out many of their bugs, although the AI is still a little flaky, and I've found myself spending a lot of time beating the crud out of my creature when he eats the townsfolk, or throws that stupid egg! I hope this won't continue to be a problem, but I am pretty sure it will.

Other than the AI being predictably uncontrolable, the activities that I've seen so far are great. I especially like the bowling (Tekken Bowl is the only part of Tekken I am good at... and the only time I am good at bowling). The sheep herding is a bit dull, but not too difficult, and the egg... well I've got my creature to just drop it instead of throwing it... oh well.

Although this doesn't really have to do with "the game" I did notice one really great thing that EA has done. The packaging is much smaller than the typical PC software box. The same length and width as a DVD (PS2, GameCube, X-Box) case, and about 3X as deep, the packaging is more environmentally friendly than those cereal boxes everyone else is using to put software in. If anything, buy this game just to let EA know that their packaging is cool.

AWSOME

Creature Isle is a good game- if you have the patience. The tasks that you must accomplish seem really pointless and tedious if not monotonous at times. The AI is wack, and the game often does some really weird things (sometimes my creatures apprentice wont do anything, he/she just stands there). I havent really put in too many hours playing this game, only around 30 hours. But, if you are a rabid B&W fan like i am, you will enjoy the vast things to do and see. Also, if you are into modifying things, this game wont work. What i would do is go to bwcenter.com and download the BWbackup, which backs up the important things, like the creature mind and all that neat stuff. Then uninstall and reinstall black and white and install Creature Isle. If you need any help, the Customer Support is pretty good. I even had one person ask my phone number so he/she could help me with it.

Overall its not a bad game. Besides the qwerks its pretty fun and addicting

Hard but interesting. The new cretures and Features are well worth you're 20 dollars.

A very interesting and involved expasion pack

Not a bad expasion pack! Great new concepts-such as the Brotherhood:a group of elite creatures that need to pass trials to join the group. New mircales; speed and cancel all mircales can be useful at times. 3 new creatures; all of which are at least fairly interesting-the croc is my new favorite, and the chicken is hilarious to use-the rhino is pretty cool too. At the same time, you get a small chicken follower, simply known as 'Tyke'. Tyke will follow your creature and learn miracles, skills and other abilities.
Unfortunatly, there is some bad press: both technical and gameplay. In technical, the game is not any faster than before, in fact, it's somewhat slower, sometimes jerking or slowing down-however, a minor drawback for the patiant and those with good computers. In gameplay, Tyke is difficult to control-he is EXTREMELY intellegent-learning most miracles and skills at %20-25 at a time, and sometimes more. However, you cannot control Tyke, and your creature must, therefore, Tyke may be good or evil against your will. Also, it is more difficult to sustain being good as a god, as well as keeping your creature good...if you are playing the 'goody' way. Some of the trials may also be frusterating, repetative or annoying. Still, many of the trials offer a good laugh and/or a lot of fun. I recommend this expansion-it's worth the minor amount of money.

A pretty good expansion, but not the best in the world.

If you have gotten to at least Land 3 in the original B&W, this expansion won't dissapoint you. It is really creative, and I like te new creatures (Rhino, Chicken, Alligator). The trials are pretty fun, yet some of them are quite annoying. The biggest problem with this game is that it won't upgrade your original Black and White. This Really ticked me off, cuz I was hoping to beat the game with an alligator. However, like I said before, it's still really fun until you've beaten it.
