One of the greatest games ever created and the first reason to own a 360. If you've played the PS2 version then you know what to expect. A deep card battle system that takes place on a game board. You can have 50 cards in your deck which would include creature, items and spells. So far Culdcept Saga has started out a little easier than the one on PS2. It also has a deeper story mode with some nice cut scenes. The graphics received an upgrade but there's still no creature battle animation besides the usual claw, axe or sword. You can easily spend hours playing and maintaining your book of cards. There's single, multi-player and online modes so it's a great party game. Some people will play it and not give it a chance, you have to stick with it. Everyone should buy this game (or two) so they make more of them, otherwise this may be the only one for current systems.

More depth than any game in recent years.

When i was a kid i was really into collecting Pokemon cards. Then yu-gi-oh came around and i was collecting/creating decks with that. I am now 21, and when i found out about this game i knew i had to pick it up, and i am not disappointed at all. The online community is amazing. You don't get your singing kids, loud abrasive screaming idiots of cod4/halo 3. There is an unlimited amount of depth in this game. There are endless amounts of decks you can make from over 500 cards to collect. This is must buy for strategy fans, and collectors alike.

Great game if you are looking for something different at a low price

Culdcept Saga is exactly what it says it is, a blend between a card game and monopoly. If you are looking for story, or solid voicing talent, I suggest you look elsewhere. Where I really enjoy this game is in playing through, discovering new cards, and adding them to your deck. Building various decks and trying them out in different situations is also great fun. Beware though, that many of the matches will take well over an hour to complete, so bring some spare time with you. Despite its weaknesses I recommend this game, especially when the low price is taken into consideration.

Amazing game if you're the type of person to like it.

After having played the PS2 version, I was extremely excited when I found out that they were going to make one for the 360. It's basically the same game with some added features, and that's EXACTLY what I would have wanted.

Some people may find it slow-paced. Think of this as a board/card game, not a video game.
Some people may find the voiceovers/plot horrible. This is not a game you play for the story, but for the pure gameplay alone.
Some people may find the graphics subpar. This is not a game you play for the shininess.

If you can get past that stuff, you have a serious gem on your hands with Culdcept Saga.

Culdcept Saga is totally addictive fun

I got a copy of Culdcept and can not put it down. The game is a mixture of board games and trading card games. I never really liked trading card games as a kid, but for some reason the concept really grows on me here. I have played about 4 hours so far, including some multiplayer. The game, simply put, rocks. It combines all the luck of rolling a die with the strategy of building a deck of cards. I am totally hooked. I hope the graphics would be better since its a 360 game, but for my $40, the game is worth every penny.

Gameplay over graphics....

It's already been said. The strategy and luck of a trading card game (like Magic the Gathering and Yugioh) and the strategy and luck of a board game like Monopoly come together to create an enjoyable playing experience that everyone should try at least once. Don't let the sound of that combination scare you because it's not complicated. Anyone who can read, add and have a good memory can plan this game (but most won't because it's not Assassin's Creed, Grand Theft Auto, or any other game that's gotten a boat load of advertising).

It's easy to spend hours building and editing your deck before playing and hours playing with friends (not to mention playing online, which I haven't done yet, but I will).

This game should get more respect than it has. The uniqueness of this game should help it stand out. But because the graphics aren't crisp for a next-gen console, people will complain about it and focus more on graphics than gameplay. If you are looking for a pretty game, look elsewhere. If you are looking for something different, challenging, and will hook you almost instantly, buy this game.

Very addicting

While the learning curve may be tough for some, Culdcept is an all in all great game. The depth and strategy involved surpasses most canonized strategy games on the market.

Casual Fun

It's a simple game to learn. The artwork on the cards is great. My wife and I have spent a couple hundred hours playing this game and still enjoy it. The game is a great choice for the 'casual' player. No shooting, no need for fast reflexes, just sit back and have fun with an animated board game. It's different and has many different level/maps. The only real down-side is that the 'action/battle' sequences are pretty mundane. But even then it's a board game; how much action would you expect?

CCG fans will love it.

This is a great game for lovers of CCGs and board games. The so many different strategies are possible that the game has nearly limitless replay possibilities.
The graphics, while nice, do not really come close to using the XBOX360's full graphic potential.

Please, please, please... take this game at face value.

It's a board game with a collectible card/deck building element. It does both well, and is fundamentally balanced (see AI gripe below). From this perspective, the game is very good.

Boards and matches are rarely the same. Once out of story mode, pick up matches, both real locally and via XBL and AI based via the versus mode are available.

The combinations of cards and deck strategies are nigh limitless, while the addition of XBL online play and the struggle to collect all the cards adds replay value for a sub $50 game.

The caveats to the game are few. It is a board/card game and looks like a board/card game. No real win or loss here, if you come into the battle with reasonable expectations. Could it have looked better? Of course. Is it necessary to add the time (AND COST)? No. There is the presence of a slight rubber-band AI that is a little irritating. Also slightly irritating are the voice actors playing it out in full-blown cheap anime dub splendor. I ended up skipping cut scenes and cursing some opponents that I should have defeated.

If you are looking for bleeding edge graphics and blistering gameplay, this is not for you.

"Gamers" will love this. G4m3rz will hate this.
