The Tick, funny but not challenging

The Tick. Everybody remembers that Saturday morning cartoon and before that the underground comic book about one of the most unskilled yet totally hilarious Super Heros. Well, eventually he got his own game.

Personally, I liked the comic book rather than the game. The game was yet another Double Dragon type Fighting/Action/Adventure game. Meaning that it was a little uninspired and there was nothing that you hadn't seen before in any games similar to it.

The challenge was there and it wasn't there. You're standard stage enemies were not that difficult and even so, you always had help from the Tick's closest friends like American Maid, Arthur and Deflater Mouse. But still, the challenge in combat was not there. Even if you allowed the screen to fill up with enemies, they were still manageable.

The reason why I thought this game was somewhat challenging was because there was a very difficult challenge of not falling asleep while playing this game because it was so long and boring and like I said the combat was not there. Board after board, level after level, it's basically the same thing over and over again. Unless, you find a cheat to warp to the last level, it [was] really [bad] to play the whole way through.

The only thing that held this game up (for me at least) was that parts of it were kind of funny. Like at the end of every board, Tick yells his battle cry of "SPOON!". Other than that, you could find a better adventure game. If you are seeking a better adventure game, try any of the Mega Man X series or SNES follow up of Metroid because both are equally good.

Again, skip the Tick and look for more challenges.
