The combination of the new XBox 360 and PGR3 is absolutely awesome. I don't consider myself a "gamer" and have never previously owned a game console but I've always loved racing, including high quality PC based racing games that challenge your skill as a racer. THIS product combination blows the doors of anything I've previously seen or experienced. In the Online Mode, connecting with others who want to race and race clean is a snap. However, once you're there, you are into the most realisic environment imaginable. The graphics are crystal clear with shadows, reflections off of the car paint, and realistic engine sounds matched to the cars that you and the others are driving. And it is down and dirty white knuckle racing that is as hard and as challenging as you and your opponents can make it. It is unusual indeed to end a race without scratches on the side of your car, and dented rear wing, or a mirror dangling loose. The great part is that any damage done is cosmetic only, so the ability to press your opponents lasts until the bitter end. Generally, I've found the style of most opponents to be fast and clean. By the way, you can talk to the others you are racing against before, during, and after each race. Chances are that you may all be located on different continents; however, due to the wonders of broadband, you would think that they were all right there in your living room. If you don't have connectivity, Standalone Mode is extremely good as well and worth the price.
Very good game...

Project Gotham Racing 3 is a very good game...and only that. It is not great, but very good. The graphics are amazing, the cars sound great and look great, and the tracks are fun and well-thought out. The only place where it lacks is its lack of variation. The tracks begin to feel the same after a while, and you start out with almost every car in the game...all you need is money (credits). The worst part of this game is that you cannot customize the cars...at least in the Need For Speed series you can trick out your car any way that you want. Overall this game is a 4/5 stars...it performs well, looks great, but needs customization. Hopefully in PGR4 you will be able to modify the supercars.
Great game if you're looking for a good racer.

Project Gotham is one of the better racing games out there today. PGR3 is a pretty good instalment into the franchise. The high-def graphics are amazing, and the cars are extremely realistic. The only gripe I have with this game is the repetitive career mode where you continually do the same thing over and over. Other than that, it's a very solid game. My geuss is PGR4 will be better.
If you like racing games, you should also check out Forza Motorsport 2.

Best racing game out in my opinion. Only downside is that PGR2 seemed to have more cars, and definitely more styles. Where's the porsche cheyenne and the old muscle cars? Still, one of my favs.
An exellent first generation 360 game

As my review title states, PGR 3 is an exellent first gen 360 game. The graphics are are practically top notch and the fun factor is extra large! You get a huge selection of cool cars to race. its also really great to be able to race people all over the world when playing via xbox live. For the price, you cant go wrong! if there was one con to this game, it would be that in order for you to be able to play with a friend with a second controller, your friend has to sign in and create a new account for him/herself. Overall, that isnt difficult, but it just seems to be to much work just to be able to race someone. That one reason is why I cant give this game a full five stars.
You Gotta Pick This One Up....

If you're into fast cars and fast paced driving, this is the game for you! Bizarre Creations took an intresting approach to the racing genre with a game the blends realistic physics with a dash of arcade racing. The game still requires you to take a good racing line in order to be fast, however there are a lot of assists to help you maintain control in most situations, making you feel like you're in total control. The game has a decent number of cars, about 80. Mainly high class exotics, there's only one real muscle car which I wish they changed, but what can you do, but hey this is one of the few games that has the McLaren F1 LM road car! The awesome thing about this game is all the cars in the game are capable of having a top speed of AT LEAST 170MPH. The down side is you can not customize them, besides changing the colour of the paint. The main advantage of this is it keeps a level playing field in the online mode, so it's really down to picking a car that suits your driving style and your true skill. You'll find that the solo career mode is great for unlocking achievements but some of the challenges are pretty redundant. Hot lap, timed lap and even breakthrough are pretty much the same challenge mode, except in one the clock counts up and in the other the clock counts down. After you beat the solo career you'll probably find yourself on online career most of the time. This is where you challenge the best in the world and work your way up. You have a true skill ranking which is assesed by your performance in each rank letting other players know your relative driving skill, then you have a world rank which you progress through as you win races or do well against higher ranked opponents. Just like in Halo 2's ranking system your world rank goes up and down depending on your performance, your kudos ranking however keeps on climbing since you can't lose kudos. If you got an XBOX 360 and you're into driving games, you gotta pick this one up.

I love racing games and this is one of the best. It really shows off the graphical quality of the Xbox 360, as well as conveying a great sense of speed when you get into one of these incredibly fast cars. The game has a slight learning curve, and if I was buying for a kid who is not a very good gamer, I would purchase Need for Speed instead.
The "Kudos" system (rewards you for power sliding, drafting, going up on 2 wheels, and so on) is a lot of fun and the music is varied and great. Also, you can listen to the music while you're racing, and there is everything from classical to punk rock.
The cars are detailed and beautiful; if you have a favorite exotic car, chances are that it exists in this game, or can be downloaded from Xbox Live Marketplace. The system of winning races to unlock new cars, which once bought unlocks new garages, and new races, is brilliant and addictive.
My complaints are that nothing is customizable other than the color of the car, and the damage modeling is sub par, and doesn't affect driving. Other than that, this is a game that has held up well to the test of time, and now that it is in the bargain bin is a GREAT BUY
Worth every penny, including the ones saved!

I had purchased this game two weeks ago from time of writing and I have to say that I enjoy this game, especially considering it was a "bargain bin" title.
You start out with about 85,00CP when you start and as you progress through the game, you'll acquire more funds. There's also a "Kudos" system that'll reward you for doing things like power-slides, drifts, and also racing "clean" (In other words, "driving without 'crashing'").
The only gripe I have with this game is the amount it takes to complete the game. I had just received my 360 from the repair center in Texas and within two days, was able to complete the game on "normal" difficulty. However, the more difficult you make the races, the more challenging it seems, but is worth your while.
In closing, I strongly recommend this game for anyone who had just received their 360 and doesn't have much money to splurge on newer blockbuster titles.
a real drivers game!

I love the intensity level of this game as you work the way up the rankings and skill levels. Realistic driving characteristics from the cars as you would expect, such as the torquey spin outs from the big engine ferrari's or the high revving porsche or JP1's. Also the way you have to match the car to the cicuit you're competing in so as to beat the computer in career mode. Spend many hours (over 2 million 600 thousand kudos )and still have a blast. Won several races in extreme still holding my interest and desire to conquer the racing would in this life time.If you don't own this game yet and love racing, what are you waiting for!
My favorite racing game.....ever.

This has everything you could want from a racing game and more. The graphics are slick, shiny, and detailed. The cars all sound unique and powerful. It has every different driving view you can imagine, including my favorite, in cockpit view. It really makes you feel like you're driving the car and still gives you a good view of the road. All the garages are beautiful and make a nice little place to walk around in and gaze at your cars. They have a wide selection of cars, including some rare classics that any real car fan will go out of their way to get their hands on. There is no such thing as a little Japanese ricer here, just exotic, beautiful sports cars. The physics engine is realistic, but not so much so that it makes you not want to play. There is no customization, the games focuses more on your skill as a driver than how fast your car is. Your fellow racers are intelligent and sometimes fight dirty, or you can go online and race against real people. There are so many reasons that this is the best racing game ever in my opinion. Its even got Geometry Wars in the garage!
