Decent Game, but really only for Die Hard Trek Fans

I am fan of star trek and decided to pick up this game when I saw it at Gamestop for only 9.99 New.
The gameplay mostly resembles Star Trek: Starfleet Command line of games that came out for the PC a couple of years back.
The graphics are ok; the opening sequence (with Shatner's voice over) is quite nice, but the in-game graphics leave much to be desired as most of the ship models are generic and are not really detailed. As for space itself, absent the occasional planet and the numerous asteriods, you would have no idea it was space. The gameplay itself, however, is the real problem with the game as it becomes repetetive really quickly. It's basically leave the starbase, go blasting, survive, repeat. By the time you complete the federation campaign, there is really no desire to play the klingon campaign (though seeing the klingon language was a nice touch).
A major gripe I have with the game is the frequent amount of collisions you will have with asteriods during the combat sequences. The camera angle makes it mostly impossible to see them coming before its too late.
Overall the game is really only for die hard star trek fans, and even they may be disappointed with the lack of the use of the license.
