Worst Sudoko Game Ever

1 Rating: 1, Useful: 3 / 3
Date: February 22, 2007
Author: Amazon User

I had gone to the store to buy a casino game but I saw this one for $9.98 and couldn't pass it up. It is not worth anything. Putting it on the DS seemed to be an afterthought. It does not use the touchpad for any usefull purpose. It is faster to use the buttons. I was hoping it would be more like the Brain Age version but with endless gameplay. The solutions to most of the puzzles so far have many numbers in sequence and there are multiple answers. The grid is very hard to read and there is no way to enter multiple choices in a box. I'll stick to my $15 touch screen stand alone game that I have. I'll sell the DS version for whatever I can get at my next yard sale.

Horrible

As described in other reviews, the layout and usability of the game is HORRIBLE!! Not all puzzles have an unique answer either, which creates even more headache while playing the game. The fonts cause some numbers to look like others, which slows down game play. The designers took no advantage of the DS's touch screen ability. If you want a decent sudoku game, try Brain Age. It has over 100 Sudoku games, plus other brain training games and is listed for the same price on Amazon!!

Fun, but not as challenging as expected

Sudoku-mania is an engaging game with lots of different ways to customize play. Players can select from three difficulty levels (easy/medium/hard) and two puzzle layouts (2x2 or 3x3).

Players can also select from several "themes," including an animae character, a space scene, lions, or dolphins. The themes allow players to switch between standard sudoku (numbers 1-9) and a series of symbols. For example, the lions theme can be played with numbers 1-9 or with mini animal icons.

This game is my first experience with sudoku, and it was not as challenging as I expected. However, the selection of customization options (especially the symbols play) has kept the game fresh.

Puzzle Crazy

4 Rating: 4, Useful: 3 / 9

With the national craze of Su Doku going on, many people are enjoying a healthy, stimulating challenge that is exciting, and mind-bending too. Within the past few years, there have been many different Su Doku video games released for the P.C., as well as video games systems like the PSP, and the Nintendo DS. Arguably, the Nintendo DS really has had more of them however, with hits like Brain Age, and Su Doku Gridmaster, many more of these puzzle games are hitting the stores around the corner. Now, there is another one that just hit the Nintendo DS library that is sure to please anyone.

Su Doku-Mania for the Nintendo DS is typically like any other video game Su Doku on the market. The object of the game is very simple, you have to get each number from 1-9 in a 3x3 grid, and in each row across and vertically. The gameplay here delivers quite well, as you try to figure out each puzzle and not just with numbers, here you also have puzzles with symbols as well, making it even more challenging for anyone who is already a master of Su Doku. The gameplay is well-conjured, and the control like before is completely relied from the stylus. With so many different puzzles to tackle, you'll be sitting for hours of enjoyment.

I definitely enjoy a challenging Su Doku game once in awhile, and Su Doku-Mania is a great addition to your Nintendo DS library. If you've loved it from Brain Age, you will definitely have a ball playing this one for hours on end.

Sudoku without touch screen input

1 Rating: 1, Useful: 1 / 1
Date: July 25, 2007

If you've played the Sudoku included with the game "Brain Age" then you won't like this game. There is barely any input you do with the stylus on this game. What's more is that the quality of the image is also grainy. There are several themes and layouts you can choose from, however. Each theme is random and overtly colorful. The programmers didn't make good use of the screen realestate and the buttons you 'can' tap are fairly small. There is no character recognition like in Brain Age making inputting your choice a bit easier if you can aim well. I would have to agree with other reviews of this game. This game is poor. Do yourself a favor and don't buy the game. I'm still looking for a Sudoku game as good as the one in Brain age. This certainly isn't it.

Very Poor Sudoku Implementation

The controls are poorly thought out, the fonts are difficult to read, and the puzzles don't always have unique solutions. I only paid $10 for it, and that was too much.

I agree with everyone...LOUSY game

I too am an avid Sudoku fan and was quite upset to learn I am not even able to return this item to the store I bought it at...I even called UFO. They only do the manuals and have nothing to do with programming. The guy thinks that the company that designed it is in the UK, I guess the British do not play Sudoku. But I concur with everyone's thoughts...there is no way that you can solve these puzzles without having the ability to "pencil" in all numeric possibilities and yes I found that the font made it difficult to distinguish between certain numbers. I am glad I did get it on sale for 10 bucks..but no wonder why it was reduced in price at the store from 19.99.

Sudoku Mania Not!

This was the worst Sudoku game I have ever used. Hard to use with no provisions for penciling in possibilities. I would have rated it zero but wasn't able to.
