I got this with my new DS for Christmas. I really love the Sims and Pets, so my boyfriend thought this would be a good game. At first, it was, but like other reviewers have said, there's no "ultimate goal". It's very repetative. All the animals have the same illness. You can't build your own house to suit your needs, there are only 3 available. All of my stuff can't even fit in the big house! I had fun playing it for the first few times, but now I'm just kind of bored.
A few of my biggest irks are:
1.) Once you bring a pet to a certain station and are done at that station, it goes directly back to the kennel and you have to retrieve it if you want to go to another station.
2.) The kennels only hold 3 pets and I couldn't fit more than 1 kennel in the house so you're very limited. If you have 3 pets in the kennel at one time, and other sick pet comes, you have to send it to a specialist.
3.) Once you buy a better quality item, I thought that you could sell back your lesser quality item (couldn't you do this in the Sims on the computer?) Now it just sits in your inventory.
It's fun for a little while I just wish that the more pets you saw and the more money you got, there would be bonuses or something. Oh well...

Like other reviews posted both my husband and I are fans of the Sims PC games. So we figured that our 10 year old daughter would love this game. We were wrong. After tring to play the game ourselfs we found it to be borning and quite hard to grasp onto the concept of the game, esp for a younger child. I would not recommend.

My dayughter, who loves our 'Sims' for computer game - got this for Christmas and by the end of the week she was bored... I don't think she even played it once in January... Wish I would have gotten her a different game.
Don't waste your money!

This expansion pack is great! It's nice to actually have dogs around while you hear constant barking, instead of just hearing it and seeing no dogs lol! There are some draw backs though. It does make it a little more difficult to manage your sims activities as you have to include the animals. Also you have no control over what the pets do, only their interaction with the sims, and last but not least, when all the rest of your family is sleep and your time has not speeded up, trust that the family furball is up and running around somewhere. I forgot all about them and was trying to figure out ok who is still up that the time hasn't speeded up, then I see this little black thing running down the steps, oh yeah the cat is up and running around. But otherwise, the expansion pack is great. Wish they had a few more toys for the pets, or a better selection of fish and birds.
