Beyond Red and Blue

When Red and Blue came out 10+ years ago, it was THE GAME to have. It was awesome. Since then, Pokemon games have been not nearly as good as the original (probably since they took out the cheats and glitches =]). This is easily better than Red and Blue. This game is absolutely phenomenal. I thought this would be just a retarded game worth laughing at. It's much better. I would be willing to pay $50-$60 for it.

The absolute best and "most capable" Pokémon game ever.

My father pre-ordered me this game and it arrived one day before its release in stores. I was so excited when I got it, because I knew it would have to be more fun that previous games.

One reason I like Pearl more than previous games is the fact that you can obtain literally almost any and every Pokémon in existence (except for "Event" Pokémon or ones you must cheat for). Not only can you catch, trade or breed every new Pokémon, but you can now transfer any Pokémon from Ruby/Sapphire, Emerald and Leaf Green/Fire Red. This means that you can ultimately have Pokémon from every generation.

I also love the wifi/wireless battling and trading. Now I can trade or fight my friends from my couch or at my lunch table.

One thing that is a slight inconvenience is the way you must scroll through Pokétech applications. There are over 20 applications and no "previous" button, so if you want to go to the app right before the current one, you must click "next" 22 times.

Probably one of the only things that makes this a "four-star" for me is the fact that you cannot do 4-people wifi battles. You can have team battles with exactly 4 people if you are all near each other (wireless) but cannot in wifi. In wifi, all you can do is have a 2-player double-battle. This is probably the significant flaw for me.

Epic in all ways

Pokemon has always been one of my favorite games since I was a wee boy, but this Pokemon has a storyline that has truely transformed my opinion of the storylines of the games. The game has gone from saving the world from an evil organization bent on taking over the world or altering the world to an insane organization trying to destroy the world. The creation of the world is even issued here. For religious reasons, children might be confused by this game. However, the storyline is not all that has improved. The game's graphics have been drastically improved, including battle animations for each Pokemon, over 100 new species of Pokemon, bringing the total to 493, an amazing cutscene, an improved Pokedex that lets you see different genders of Pokemon (for that matter, the Pokemon differ in gender now), and lots of legendaries. With easy and fun compatability with the GBA Pokemon games and WiFi trading, this game makes it a little easier to catch all 493. Some problems with the game is the WiFi trading itself. One issue with it is that nobody wants a free trade. In the original Pokemon, everybody wanted a Mew for a Ratatta. The same applies here, only on a global level. It is hard to come across a good trade, but they are able to be found and are extra-rewarding. One nice things about the early Japanese versions is that it has a critical glitch that allows you to surf through the door in the elite 4, allowing you to go anywhere, including event locations. This means you won't have to wait for an event to happen, though in the American versions, you cannot do this. With WiFi, events should be easier to do on a worldwide level. This game is something that cannot be missed out on. With many new features, including Pal Park (this is how you transfer Pokemon from previous games), the ability to catch most Pokemon in one version, WiFi trading, and touch-screen tools, Pokemon hasn't been more fun.

Most of the new pokemons not that great; however, the game is great because you could trade worldwide, go into the underground turnel to digs, catch pokemons that you migrate from other games, and there are more unique classes. There are other evolutions that need to be found and a lots of new pokemons.

I never got into the Pokemon phenom before Diamond and Pearl. Somehow though, my seven yr old found out about them, and loved them. She waited anxiously for Diamond and Pearl and we went out and bought her Diamond right away.

At one point she got stuck and asked me to help. Rolling my eyes and huffing and puffing, I took the DS from her. I started to play. Then I started to ask her questions. Then I didn't want to give the Nintendo BACK to her. In a few minutes, I was hooked!! I went out a few days later and bought another DS and Pearl. My husband chuckled at the Mom and Daughte duo comparing notes, and Pokemon.

Well, she got stuck again, and since I was busy with my own Pokemon, she asked her dad. He huffed and puffed and took the DS to help. He started asking questions, he didn't want to give the DS back, and within days had his own copy of Diamond to play. (although not his own ds).

Great game, with great graphics and almost never ending list of things to do or find. Also a great way to bring the family together. Pokemon is the main topic in our house on most days. LOL

Great deal!

My son bought this game because he said the price was too good to pass up. He received the game soon after and has really enjoyed it. The savings were a plus.

Decent for what it is

I personally like this version of pokemon because not only do I use it to remove boredom, I also use it to talk to my friends around the world. I also use it to communicate with my girlfriend in a building where there is no signal for her cell phone. I use the voice chat feature in the game and we talk when we need to. The game itself is like any other pokemon game except this one adapts the old gba versions to complete the national pokedex. I haven't finished both versions yet but am striving to catch them all :)

Pokemon Pearl--Fun for more than One!

Pearl is the latest installment in the Pokemon Franchise. It isn't as bad as the previous ones and has more to look forward to and tons of extras. There are many 'apps' to obtain, from a berry app that lets you know your berries are ripe, to a step counter and even one that lets you view how your pokemon are in the daycare center. At least you can obtain many different kind of berries for free, from 3 people in 3 different towns.

The graphics are not much better, but more so than previous games. It is fun to use the stylus to battle, find items in your 'bag' and the like. At least on the bottom screen, one can 'click' on the 'bag' where said item is. That is a good improvement over the other way.

I am very dissappointed with the "Safari Zone" or more properly put "Safari Swamp"--thats right a swamp. Very hard to move around in it as you often get trapped up to your nose in a 'pit' and not many rare pokemon in it as well.

At least money isn't a problem, as there is a dueling pair that have a "Chatot" and a "Roselia". With "luck Incense" or "Amulet Coin" on one of your Pokemon, one can literally rack up 24k each time you battle both.

There are an occasion, walking through walls glitches, especially when coming out of the rooms from trading, chatting, etc., in the poke centers.

Between raising pokemon, the water starter is pitiful and remains so, berries, making poffins (stirring a pot!!!) and having a single bike that can do the work of 2, I find this game very entertaining.

I caught a shiny Spinx on my first go out in the grass!!

Another great Pokemon game

Bought it for my daughter who has just about every pokemon game made for GBA and DS and this is by far her favorite one. Its a little harder than the previous ones to get badges but she likes the challenges more.

Great game
