TRULY THIS IS GROUNDBREAKING

I had mixed feelings before this game came out mainly because of what I was reading on the internet and in magazines. People rather loved it or hated it, either way I was going to get it just for shear originality and the fact that it had Disney graphics with a ton of gore. I've been playing the game for 2 days now and I have to say I love it to death. The animation is very Disney and the first time you cut a man in half with your trusty ax I bet you say "OH SH#!T" The story is very engrossing n told like a campfire tale with great artwork being drawn to discribe what's going on right before your eyes.... it's a sight to behold. This is the usual good vs evil but it's told more to the manner of a warrior needing to fight and I admire that kind of honest storytelling.
I can see why this game had mixed reviews. It's really as good as you want it to be. If your looking to just brawl your way threw a level you can and I bet you get bored doing so after an hour or so. The way to play is to utilize all it has to offer. Stealth is a main part of gameplay and it's too easy to get caught but the special kill moves you get for that are just outstanding. The bird you have as an ally is a nice touch to see what your in for and the view you get from the bird is much like Beastmaster series. When you draw your weapon it's easy to just button mash, but if you keep a cool head and go for the special moves I swear you'll feel like a seasoned warrior with how fluid the graphics are.
Dare I say this one will be a hit. Buy it and you'll be impressed with 1: the controls 2:the graphics 3: the story 4: the gore and 5:....the gore.

This is a very good action game. It is intense, fun, and addicting. It has attractive graphics and user-friendly gameplay. There are a few cons though. One, it's too gory.while I enjoy it, the disney graphics make the gore stick out too much. Two, it gets repetetive. While fun, the game gets boring and repetitive. Three, it's difficulty is to varied. It goes from extremely easy to extremely hard to quickly. Despite these, the game is great. A must have for action gamers that are looking for a fun release that requires little thinking

There aren't many games I would give five stars. GTA3, Devil May Cry, Tony Hawk. That's pretty much it... not the Mark of Kri.

I think this game breaks new ground in interface. You have to play the combat system to understand it, but it's a little like that old classic Robotron -- i.e. two joysticks. There is a lot of complexity in the moves you can do and the ways you can kill your enemies -- definitely not for kids!

That said, you have to be sated by the moves, because the environment itself is not very open for exploration. Mark of Kri is almost like a combination of Tekken, Blood Omen 2 and Metal Gear with a tongue-in-cheek, Polynesian twist.

I started off liking the game, but my enthusiasm is starting to wane. I find the fact that you can't attack if you or your opponent are too close to a wall annoying -- likewise with being close to wood, in which case your sword gets stuck. I'm tired of the bird, because controlling it is boring. I'm tired of watching Rau perform the same moves over and over; it seems that the stealth kill moves are not determined randomly, but by the guy your killing... so if you ever have to redo a level, all the moves are the same.

Most of all, I'm tired of the game's linear nature. Level after level with every move essentially pre-determined (especially if you want to finish the special challanges).

I still love the graphics, and playing a new level is interesting (the first time). I think this game is worth owning because of the graphics and its unique style, but it's not Devil May Cry.

OHH SHIP!! this is a good game.this game is has one of the best stor lines i've ever seen in a game.it has allthe aspects of a grate game, and losts of gore to go with it. this game dus not hold back when it comes to violenc. i meen this guy is smashing peopls heads ,cuting heads off,etc.. this is a grate game for the teen and older but not for the little kid. that is way it is rated "M". one prblem i have is the targeting , you have to target some one if you want to hit him/her, rather then just attacking them. in some cases this is good but it gets old after a wile.
I reomend renting it, But if you dont like renting game go bay this one.

That all for me.

4 and a half really, I love barbarian stuff :)

I dont really own this, I was sent a demo in the mail and it includes 2 beginning levels but from what I see it looks really good.....its a little brutal but hey, better to take your frustrations out on some digital characters instead of real people right >:) The animation is really smooth and the characters look cool and I like Kuzo, your pet hawk that scouts ahead and confuses your enemies for you. Definate "conan" feel to the game, I like it when hords of enemies dogpile you and you have to hack through em all chopping off arms heads etc.....bloody but not over the top or gratuitous....I didnt really get much of the story but I gave it 4 stars because I have only played the demo....

A great experience you have to see

When i first got my PS2, my dad got me the Mark of Kri with it. I only got half-way through the 1st level when i knew that this was definately the best game in the world.

The graphics are like nothing that i have ever seen before. The entire game plan is magnificent. The characters are unique. The weapons are the BOMB! I mean, a sword, bow, spear and axe... How many games do you know that have these kind of things. The whole game makes you feel that, you're not actually playing Rau but you are Rau, that sort of emblem of a savior, a warrior, a messiah sort of guy.

You do not know what you're missing. This game is an opportunity of a lifetime. You just have to get it.

Gore Gore and more Gore!

The graphics and surroundings of "The Mark Of Kri" are exceptional. Its more of a cartoon feel rather than that of a real gory game. Besides the graphics, the controls are unsteardy and somewhat irritating. It takes you ages to move the charachter providing your enimies ample time to harm you as much as possible. The player gets a really weird feeling after the charachter whom you play, penetrates his sword into the enemies body, gives it a 90 Degree rotation and then pulls it out. Eeire! I mean you may not feel it at the time, however you do later on. Trust me on that one!

On the other hand, the sound is really good. If you love gore, a lot and a lot of gore, this game is for you. If your'e squeamish you might end up in a pretty bad situation!

Overall, a good, worth for the money game. And yeah, the extra gore is included!!

This game is da bomb it is so cool!I got a game demo from my friend and it happened to have the mark of kri on it,so I started it up and from the second I saw the sword and cartoony animation I knew I would love this game!I mean this game has everthing!Sword fights,bow and arrows,axes,stealth,a great combat sytem,and even a even a spirt guide(bird)!in the game you start with a sword and later on I think you get a bow and arrow and two other things,like I said before I only played the demo.I am begging my dad to get this game for me!Hope I helped

ok, i played rise of the kasai(sequal) before i played this game so thats why im tired with it. Theres only so much fun u can have with this game. In rise of kasai at first i was like this game is great, this is cool. The characters are cool but I got bored. Why did I get bored? Its a simple clunky hack n' slash game with an ability to stealth around but why? This is supposed to be one of the best underrated games?? pleeeaaaase
