So-so game

3 Rating: 3, Useful: 23 / 23

The graphics are beautiful. However, the plot/objective of the game is a bit confusing and the dialog is horrible. I can only guess it was translated from something else into English by someone whose first language is not English.

Personally, I find it annoying that I can click on things that have no effect on the game. It's a time waster and makes the game a bit frustrating when trying to complete a task whose solution has nothing to do with what has come before or any type of logic.

Overall, it's an okay game once you understand the game environment and that the conversations/dialog often won't make any sense.

Great graphics with a clunky storyline and weird characters.

This game was obviously taken from another language. The dialogue is strange and, at times, oddly stilted. You are a rich detective with the oft-mentioned name Martin Mystere (get it? nudge nudge!).

Your mission is to find the reason behind another crazy-wealthy academic's (aren't they all rolling in the money) murder. Between many strange noises (eg., Mh! Mn?), you will travel to far away lands and get clues as to his death and what he was researching. Many of these clues are not useful. Some are just tedious. Overall, the game is pretty frustrating.

Forget Ambien or Lunesta, this game works much better.

I am always in the mood for a new game, but I really screwed up when I bought this. The graphics and technology seem to be from the early 90s. I whole-heartily regret buying this. If you have NOTHING to do, this game might actually be of some entertainment. The Godfather game is much better if you are looking for fun.

Don't waste your money; get another game

This game started off alright. The fact that it's obviously been translated from another language into English didn't bother me at first. Neither did the characters' constant odd random utterances during dialogue. Actually, some of the dialogue translations really made me laugh. Much of the time I knew what they intended to say, but they didn't phrase it quite right.
But after a few acts, first of all, that got annoying. I wanted to know what's going on, and parts of the dialogue practically don't make any sense. Also, apparently there is a bug in mine... not that there aren't many others... such that I cannot finish the game. I am in act 6 and am stuck, and I went online to get a hint, and after looking at several websites saying the same solution and trying it in my game, my character still insists the action is irrelevant. So I guess it ends there for my characters.
Also, the game is really poorly edited. I understand they are translating from another language. But there is a such thing as spell check button. Also, sometimes the colors of the dialogue subtitles were for the wrong character. There is even one point in the game that I found, where you are controlling one character but the voice is of another!
The graphics aren't that good by the way. Not at all. Wherever Martin walks, he looks like he is having a seizure and walking at the same time. Either that or he is shimmying and just sucks at dancing.
Please don't get this game. It wasn't put together particularly well. It was marginally fun up until I got stuck, but it's not worth the money.

This game is not worth $19.99. It was terrible. I play these type of games all the time, and I've never had such a bad time with a game.

The dialogue was horrible. It was corny. There were times the words came up, but there weren't any voices. The clues didn't even give you any idea what to do next, or where to go.

The graphics were something you'd see on the old nintendo, I didn't like how slow the characters walked, and how by clicking twice they wouldn't speed up like in other games I played.

I can't believe I actually spent money on that.

As a big fan of CSI and Law and Order, I thought this sounded like a good game I could continue that fascinated with. How wrong I was. The fact that you have to do sixty steps just to get to your car keys when you first start the game was a big omen. The graphics are nice to look at and the detail is amazing, but I wish they had spent more time actually planning the game better and not putting so much detail into every step.

Oh and the dialogue. Wow. I think my cats can think of better dialogue and their's consists of meows.

Ow, that was painful! Heh, heh, heh

I've been playing adventure games for 25 years; I'm definitely patient with older technology. But this game stretched my patience beyond endurance. The storyline is ridiculous and the problems you have to solve are annoying and tedious--not at all engaging or thought-provoking. Dialogue is a mess--poor scripting, bad translation, generally awful voiceover work (except Erika), and bizarre presentation. Dialog is broken into pieces (even within sentences) and then is recorded in those pieces. Resulting in. Stilted dialogue that. Grates. A seemingly endless monologue in the middle of the game had me clawing the walls; around that time I realized that this game was too painful to play. Adventure gaming should not be a test of your tolerance of poor storylines and bad presentation. Please, love yourself enough to pass this one by. (Oh, and why the "heh, heh, heh" in my title? Because all the characters laugh like that in their dialogue. Over and over. Creepy.)

That was a waste of a perfectly good $20

I love adventure games and I can even overlook bad controls if the story is interesting. Sadly, even for a budget title, this game cost about $20 too much. The Adventure Company and its parent Dreamcatcher have a great track record at finding games from small European publishers and giving them a good release over in the US. That is so not the case here.

Avoid, avoid, avoid.

I liked this game, it probably wasn't worth the $20 I paid for it new, but it was fun. Yes the dialog was a bit confusing, but it was fun to search for clues and solve the mystery.

Don't bother with this one

I stopped after the first 10 minutes or so because the movement in this game was so horrible. And frankly it was just boring!
