A LOT BETTER THAN THE FIRST

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 0 / 0

This game has everything that was missing from the first one. The addition of arial combat is what makes the game more exciting. After plating XMA2, the first one seems primative. Beast, who I believe is the best fighter on the game, is tight.
The combos are cool. Two of the four hidden characters on this
game are even better than the originals. Spider-man and Psylocke are the two that stand out the most. I don't like to brag but I
believe no one can touch me in this game. Overall I recommend
this game to anyone who loves fast-paced action, combos, combos,
and more combos.

The Greatest Fighting Game

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 0 / 1

X-Men Mutant Academy 2 is an awesome fighting game. Wolverine can heal and use his metal claws. Cyclops can fire a bolt of pure energy from his eyes. Nightcrawler can teleport. Each fighter has its own mutant power. Pick from these awesome players. Versus mode allows 2 players to duke it out in a one of a kind battle. You can learn about each player and all of their mutant powers. X-Men Mutant Academy 2 was the sequel to X-Men Mutant Academy, which had most of the second ones players. If you love fighting games, then buy X-Men Mutant Academy 2!

Special moves too hard

Like so many fighting game, this game is ruined by the fact that doing the special moves is too hard. The instructions are pathetic. The standard method of doing special moves is hard, and these guys thought they'd try doing something different---making it even harder. Here's a clue for all you game developers--the cool thing about Xmen and all the other fighter in all the other games is the special moves--if it's too hard to do cool powers than the game is no fun. When is a developer going to get a clue on this?!?!? This game is a waste of time and money. Don't bother.

Overall A Great Game!!

I liked the first X-Men Mutant Academy but this one is definitley a lot better. It has it's flaws like everygame does but if you love X-Men this games for you. You now can play as Havok, Forge, Nightcrawler, Spider-Man, Juggernaut, and my favorite Psylocke!!!!! My only complaint is that some characters are shown in a different costume when you watch their ending. Storm, Phoenix, and Beast. Why activision didn't make it to where you can play these characters in those costumes is beyond me!!!! But overall a Great Game!!!!!!!

I fall in love all over agen

A Fair Fighting Game

This game is ultimately a good game...but has certain points in the game that I don't think it deserves to be given the remaining points that Dragonball Z Budokai stands. First off all the fighting is overall fun most of the time, and jumping around and whacking people all around the arena like a ping-pong ball can be made to your enjoyment. Plus the secret characters are pretty good, but nothing to dwadle about. First of all Psylocke isn't an overall great character, and the Juggernaut is pretty impressive but not really a fun character to play. Using cheat codes and getting characters which you activate by pressing buttons like Spider-Man and Professer X, but don't hope too much on this game. The aerial combat battles where you're litterally spinning around in the air is fun and if you gather the fun and you smack someone up into the air and jump up and deliver a projectile attack or whack him into the ground [Preferrably Forge] it can be made into a nice game.

Could've been better

Apparently its "Marvelent" on the PS1, since this is one of two superhero themed seqoels to grace Sony's little white workhorse (SpiderMan 2 is the other). Unfortunatly, X-Men 2 is a bit of a letdown. Granted, the first game wasn't all that good either, but it was a pretty good fighting game considering the fact it was done on the PS1. This time however the game feels as though it was rushed out the door in order to capitalize on the PS1's dwindling consumer base. Most franchises at this point are going to next-gen systems, why didn't this? Graphically the game looks identical to the first (which was pretty damn good), but one would expect some sort of enhancements for the sequel (other than just new secret characters). As far as gameplay goes, this game isn't as nearly as technical as SF3 Third Strike. That's fine though, the original wasn't a hardcore fighting game either. It may appeal to hardcore X-Men fans, but most will want to rent first, and I think it's hardly worth that.
