If your looking for a great sequel to a great game, this isn't it. While it may have some of original gameplay, you could hardly call it a sequel. the puzzles are harder (which i like.)
but the controls and plot suck. COLLECTING GOLDEN CRABS?!?! WHAT THE HECK IS THAT?!?! AND, WHATS WITH THE SUITS?! it was FINE as it was. so, get it if you liked the first one, get it for the sake of being a TOMBA! fan. otherwise, forget it.
Good, but the original is better

This was a fun game and some of the puzzles were really tough. However, I found that they attempted to make the game easier for kids by adding spoken dialog.(hint- TURN THE VOCAL DIALOG OFF if you don't want to be annoyed!- there are 3 people who do ALL the voices, and they don't try to hide it very well) Another thing I found annoying was the music- anytime you came to the start of a new challenge, the music became VERY dramatic(drama-queenish)and then suddly reverts to a very subdued backtrack.
Overall, it's a fun game, the graphics are good, but TOMBA, the original game is MUCH better, and lasted a lot longer.

Tomba is incredible in the fact that there are so many things that you can do in it and there are a lot of cool things to find.

While I'm not a big fan of the RPG genre, this game successfully combines elements of RPG and platform games. Let me start by saying this game is a blast. While it's not a true 3D game, the graphics are in 3D although you move in a somewhat 2D fashion (similar to Crash Bandicoot). The graphics however are top-notch. The atmosphere is very cute and cartoon like but I'm a sucker for these kinds of games. Tomba 2 will keep you busy with many tasks to complete. And while not all of these tasks are essential to completing the game you will want to finish them just for the fun of it. The only complaint I have about this game is sometimes the controls are a little tough (swinging can be a little awkward at times) but once you get used to them it's not too bad. Also, get a game guide. This game's a monster and you should have a guide so you don't miss a thing. If you like platform games this one's a must. It takes a little getting used to but be patient, you'll be hooked in no time. Enjoy!

Tomba is a fun game for all ages and could be played for hours. Tomba is an RPG game, but is still fun to play. The music is great, far from it. This is just another game that you cannot live without! (Well, you could, I'm just trying to lighten-up my opion on the game!)
Great Game, With Unexpected Plots.

Tomba 2 is a great follow-up to the original. It is more challenging and it gives that little RPG touch that this game needed to be successful. One con that this game has is it's poor sound quality, and if you want a 30 hour adventure RPG, this is not the game to get. However, this is a fairly short game that you'll want to play over and over again. This game is a game that requires a lot of thinking and should be a game that a parent would love to buy for their kids.

If you love the original Tomba from Whoopee Camp, you'll love this more!!
And if you think that this is a 3D game, you're incorrect because this is only a 2D platform game but it offers a lot of colorful graphics and delightful, humorous characters..
There are more puzzles to conquer and more "treasures" to find..To beat the game, you have to finish the events, find some crystals, which'll add to Tomba's AP total..It may make you dizzy but the act of playing is worth it.
Deserves more attention

I haven't yet had a chance to play the original tomba but after picking up a copy of Tomba 2 recently i have to say i'm pretty impressed - i wasn't expecting it to look so good and to have such solid enjoyable gameplay.
You play as a young boy raised in the jungle and you must navigate often difficult terrain (think running, jumping, climbing, swinging and gliding) to reach your objective/solve puzzles, while the whole time avoiding evil pigs and other enemys along the way.
I found the initial learning curve to be pretty quick however more then a few of the objectives are fairly difficult so i wouldn't recommend the game for young children or the easily frusterated. (you're going to need to save often to be successful)
Do yourself a favor and check it out if you are looking for a good, solid and challenging platformer.

i thinkbthis game is great. somewhow it pulls of a mix between action-adventure and RPG with its challenging puzzles and pig smashing fun. it is so funny to see this big fat pig get thrown to the grond. if you get bored with killing pigs by jumping on them there are plenty of weapons ranging from a boomerang to a fire hammer at your arsonal. The main part of this game is the challenges to do through out the game. the more you do the more fun the game gets. some challenges you have to do to advance but a lot just get you cool items that let you fly or make you faster. whats real cool is you can get things in the later places that let you go back and find a hidden area or something cool. The game play is a winner except for the occasional jump from 2D to 3D that takes some getting used to. the cartoony graphics are great fun. so all around the game is a winner. rent it first if you are a hard core 3D action-adventure fan. if you like a great fun and funny game get it.

I rented this playstation game and got to the 8th sign/save point. It is one of the best Playstation games I have played. It's 2D, but has areas where you can move up or down, then it switches back to the 2d background. It has real voices, and good music. You get all kinds of cool little quests which are recorded in a little easily-reachable adventure journal. The quests keep your attention longer than other single-goal-at-a-time games. I recommend this game and\or it's predecessor, Tomba!.
