I Got this game over the weekend, and my girlfriend had to pry the controller out of my hands to get me away from it. From the beginning, there is a lot of fun to be had. Many options and areas have to be unlocked, and finding things is half the fun. it's a difficult game at times, but it's still avery enjoyable game.
I am keeping this one

Great Game! You can play in adventure mode, battle mode or basic race around the track. I am having a great time with this game. If you enjoy the Muppets, you have to have this game! The music is very good; sound is good. Interaction with the other Muppets is a lot of fun.
1) Cheat Codes are included on the back page (If you are interested). 2) Several tracks/themes to choose from based on the movies: Muppet Christmas Carol, Muppets in Space, The Great Muppet Caper, etc. 3) Movie clips introduce new tracks (The Rainbow Connection song is recorded here!) 4) You have all of the best Muppets to choose from in your racing adventures
Hard to use for younger kids; some features didn't work

I bought this thinking it would be a good choice for our young son. In particular, the package lists a special mode that will "steer the car" for a younger driver. After buying the product, it took me about 5 minutes to find this feature in the (confusing) documentation, only to find that it apparently doesn't work.
It definitely wasn't like Crash Team Racing

I was hoping to find a game that would be similiar to Crash Team Racing. This was not it. After 5 minutes I turned it off. The karts wobbled so badly that it was nearly impossible to steer. Although I bought this for two grown adults, I am sure that children might find this difficult after playing CTR.
Not a kart racing game, but fun no less

After racing around the course, and completely losing control, I got kind of bored with this game. But then I found the Adventure mode, which is kind of hidden, and I started to really enjoy this game. The movie extras are awesome. But if your looking for a game that is just pure racing, this isn't for you. You have missions on each course, and it takes time to figure them out. Then you get to race. I really enjoyed it.

The Muppets are just the best, and it is so great to see a really fun Muppet game(especially after that horid Game Boy Color mess). "Muppet Race Mania" is a truly fun and fantastic game for the Playstation. First off the sheer number of racers at your disposal is terrific. The games starts out with only a few but a cheat is provided to open all of them-so don't fret. They are all great characters too-Miss Piggy, Gonzo, Fozzy, Rizzo, The Swedish Chef, and even BEAN BUNNY! What a treat(Bean rocks!). Also when you unlock certain secrets on the battle course you can use new characters to play them. For example if you beat "The Muppet Movie" battle coure you can battle as Sweetums. Anyway they all have a different kart that can be combined with another racer. There is also a good number of tracks to play(the stunt tracks are stupid but hey nothing is perfect), and by using the adventure mode you can access secrets that allow you to play all the course as a battle mode. There is even a Fraggle Rock course! No I ain't lyin'!The game overall is tremedously fun to play. Each Muppet's personality shines through. The graphics are great; capturing that whole Jim Henson atmosphere. The courses(some course have to be unlocked)follow the movies very well, and they offer lots of shorcuts and gameplay variety too. A little video is played before each one. The playcontrol isn't as tight as it could be, but it isn't terrible in anyway shape or form. And younger players can select an option that allows them the have the computer steer while they push the acceleration button. The games has a lot of play modes; racing, reverse racing, adventure(in which you drive around the course picking up items to unlock secrets), battle-which has a few modes of play-a boss battle mode(where you battle a "boss" character) and a chicken race(where you attempt to catch chickens. One flaw of the game is its lack of items. You only have a fish, penguin bomb, and a rocket launching chicken. But each character does have a special move that can be used to run over or slow other racers down. All in all this is a hot game. It retains to pizzazz of the Muppets and reinvigorates that kart racing genre(which has been lax for sometime). Little kids might have a little trouble with this game but little kids should be reading anyway. The price of the game is great and if you don't buy it at least rent it and give it a try.

This game is hard. The people are hard to control and there's so many corners to go through that I just keep bumping into walls. If you're a muppet fan this game is really cool. All the tracks are from the movies Muppet Movie all the way up to Muppets From Space. The graphics, scenery and clips were soo good that I just played the game, came in last every time, just to look at them. Rent before you buy so that you know what you're dealing with.
Not Fun!!

Karts very hard to control, very hard, not many choices. If you're looking for a fun, easy to understang, easy to control, but challenging game, you should check out Crash Team Racing. It's much better than Muppet Racing.
Fun for Muppet fans!!

This game is so enjoyable!! There are races, challenge courses, and 'stunts'!! It's extremely challenging if you can't figure out their little "secrets" ;-) I would highly recommend this game if you feel like laughing while exercising your playstation skills. Also, not only do you get to hear Kermit say, "Ha ha!", but you get to hear the Swedish Chef proclaim, "Shmork!!"
Tons of fun even without the Muppet factor

The fact that this is based around the Muppets only adds to the fun. There are so many different tracks (including about 10 bonus/hidden tracks) plus multiple options for every track (boss, battle, racing, and adventure modes). It will take months just to go through everything once. Then you add in all the different Muppet options, the movie clips, the wide variety of vehicles and it just gets better and better. They even included the cheat codes for us impatient folks. The graphics are the only so-so part, but I've been spoiled by PS2 games so that may just be bias. I can hardly wait for MRM2 (hint, hint)
