NOT ARENA NFL!

1 Rating: 1, Useful: 3 / 8

When I played Kurt Warner Arena Football for the first time I was dissapointed because at first I thought It was going to be like a real arena football game like madden or gameday but to my suprise it was like blitz and nfl extreme so if you want to buy a real football game buy madden 2001!

Mr. Christian promoting violence?

The game sucks. I can't believe that Kurt Warner is promoting this game and calling himself a Christian at the same time. The only thing this game has in common with the AFL is Team and player names. Plays last about 2 seconds at best, then you can stand around kicking, puching, and jumping on other players for a few more seconds. The violence is senseless and gameplay is almost irrelevent.

Arena Football should be leashed

I am a fan of Arena Football. I enjoy watching it because it is exciting, but this game doesn't live up to the real game. The game is very similiar to NFL Blitz except NFL Blitz is better. What makes Unleashed worse is there is less teams to pick from and all you do is pass. The most action comes after the play is over when players jump on each other and beat each other up. If you are thinking of buying this game, rent it first to see if it is really worth the money.

Basically, it is NFL Blitz but not as good

I love NFL Blitz and this game is basically the same thing with AFL teams and slight variations based on AFL rules. Unfortunately, it doesn't play as fast as Blitz and the graphics are not as good. Still, if you like NFL Blitz and Arena Football, then this is your game. If you are looking for something more realistic to Arena Football, you will have to wait until EA sports does something like the Madden games for AFL.

Cool, and yet un-cool.

This game offers fairly good gameplay and the sound is very cool. The lack of penaltys is surely made up by the hits and commentary, but I wish it was more of a simulation. It's a good buy, but if you want a good AFL sim, look to the new EA sports AFL game coming out next year in February. Overall this game is a 3.

A Teeth-Rattling Game

4 Rating: 4, Useful: 7 / 7

My name is Chad, and I am a football fan. I over-eat, over-sleep, and over-breathe football. It is a way of life, and the Arena Football League is a part of that life. This game brings the AFL to the Playstation.

Any fan of the AFL enjoys the bone-rattling hits on the 50-yard indoor field. This game certainly has its fair share of those explosive collisions. "Kurt Warner's Arena Football Unleashed" is a fairly entertaining arcade-style football game.

Unlike the AFL, this game only allows for 6-on-6 players, but the graphics are quite good. The game has all 17 AFL teams and respective arenas and you can develop a good gameplan with a plethora of well-designed plays. Larry Beil, the official voice of the AFL does the commentary for the game, which is an excellent addition. The lack of penalties is more than made up for by the vicious "NFL Blitz"-like hits.

Accepting the game for what it is worth, with its arcade-style of football, it is pretty fun, and there is a good replay factor. If you are a football fan, this game will be a good purchase.

not bad

This game is fun, but it isn't exactly arena football. If you're an arena football fan I'm sure that you will enjoy this game, and people who aren't fans will enjoy it as well. The one major drawback is that it lacks any rules whatsoever. I would like to see an arena game similar to the madden nfl games. With rules and penalties. Not the wrestling that goes on in this game. Plus it's only 6 on 6, I would enjoy it if it were 8 on 8 like real arena football. It's fun though, and it's at the very least worth a rental. Oh, and it was awesome seeing my 4 time world champ storm on a video game finally!

What a Game!

Although I was a bit pessimstic when I first bought this game, it turned out to be one of the best football video games that I have ever played. The hitting is absolutely hard core and I love the fast paced nature of the game. It looks as if it was patterned after NFL Blitz but it is a lot better than Blitz ever dreamed about being. As a real life Arena Football fan, this totally satisfies my thirst.

Close to real...

I'm an AFL fan and have been for a while, so I got this game, since it sounded interesting. It's not the truest sim out there, it's more like NFL Blitz but indoors. Still, it's a very fun game if you remember the 2000 AFL season. I would have liked to seen more of these games, for each season. At least this game will satisfy my appetite for AFL football. I would suggest all AFL fans to get this game, simply for the joy it will bring to you, and the fact that this is the only repesentation of the best brand of football out there. I just wish other smaller leagues (like the WNBA) would get a contract for games, since there are many fans of these lesser known sports that would love to have sim games. GO RATTLERS GO PREDS

Sorry Pierre!

I'm sorry Mr. Pierre J Kelly. There is a Arena Football game coming out in February. EA is making it, & it's going to be more of a sim than this. I know it's not your fault, but really, try to put things that are actually TRUE on your reviews. I belived you at first, because I figuered you probably knew more than I did about AFL games coming out when you wrote your review saying that this game is the last hope for any more AFL game coming out ever. I guess we were both wrong. By the time you read this review, the new game probably will have already came out. Oh, yeah, if you want a better game than this, your only choice is the new Arena Football game from EA, because they got an Exclusive License from Arena Football, just like they did with NFL! But I still have to say this game is ROCKING! It's more fun than NFL Blitz, but the annoying cheerleaders in the game really test my paitience. AFL is about the game, not cheerleaders. The music is cool, the game is pretty fun, and overall, it's really cool!!!
