If You See It In A Store, Buy It

Despite my critical nature, I couldn't find much wrong with the game. I have to say that it's one of the few games that I actually don't mind picking up to play even though it was one of the first games I've bought in my 60+ collection.

My only complaint is that the Computer AI is extremely predictable over time, and it's difficult to get stuck if you repeat a level over and over again. That's not much of a complaint though, because some people welcome the difficulty, limited as it seems at times.

Past the storyline gameplay, there are other modes and missions you can do to change it up if you get tired of the storyline format.

I wasn't much of a platform gamer before I bought the DS, and even then, most of the games I own exist in my collection simply for collective purposes. I haven't played any other version of Advance Wars on any other platform, but this game exceeded my expectations.

If there's any game on the DS that should have a perfect rating it's this one, and it's a little unfair that Phoenix Wright has a full 5 Stars while Advance Wars got docked a portion of the 5th Star. The lasting appeal of this game is incomparable to Phoenix Wright, as you probably will never pick up Phoenix Wright again after beating it a first time.

Aside from rarity issues, a good way to analyze the quality of a game is the price fluctuation from its initial release to current pricing. Advance Wars was released before both Phoenix Wright and Trauma Center in 2005 at a $29.99 price tag. It was re-released in late 2006/early 2007 (I think that time frame is correct) at an extremely modest $19.99 at EB Games / GameStop. Now it's hard to find a brand new copy in any store since its production was halted some time ago. It was a good buy at its retail price, a steal at its re-release price, and still an excellent choice at whatever price you can find it for now, an average of approximately $35.00 according to Amazon.com. Enjoy it, it'll be a classic.

this game is an extrememly addictive game.i was lucky when i saw it at a gamestop since this game is very hard to find now. i bought it used. i have to agree with all of the reviews out there saying this game is very good. i have to say in my opinion this is an extremely GREAT game, although i have to warn you the game gets VERY HARD so beware. but that wont be a problem for those who like challenges in a game. overall i cant stress how much fun you will have with this game so if you find it at a store DO NOT hesitate to get it...its that good. for a used one you can probably pay a good $35ish but for a new one you will probably have to dig in to your pocket for a good $50>. so in closing just go out and get this game its great for adults(like me) or for kids( although kids will seem to get bored with it since it does get hard).

NEW CO's! Better Graphics,more units,new campaign,new modes,better music....hey new everything.I am an advance wars fan since i heard it came out in 2001;and now it gets even better.Personally i have let my family and friends borrow my advance wars(Advance wars,Advance wars 2 and Advance Wars Dual Strike) and they all tell me the same thing "This game is Great!",hell;some even say if they can borrow it longer.So i hope that u(the reader is helped by my review if u will buy this great game) will hear my review and put it to good use by buying this game.U WONT BE DISAPPOINTED!And plus there are other great people here that have rated this game 5-stars.I know this game is good;imagine when Advance Wars:Days of Ruin comes out on January 21 2008.I already pre-ordered it soooo,if u need help on your decision or wanna know anything about Advance Wars;DO NOT HESITATE TO REPLY TO THIS REVIEW IF U NEED HELP.

The game is a fighting game where you get to decide where to go and what to do. It is a lot of fun, with pretty good graphics. My favorite thing is that it has both easy and hard levels. It keeps my interest.

Don't particular care for RPGs, but saw good reviews (notably from from GameSpot) so picked it up when the prices went down. Fabulous game; a great time waster!

I just got my ds for my birthday and was very excited to get a good overall game so i went online and read review from people like you here on amazon. I read both the critic and the reader review that this is by far the best game to get for the ds. I was unsure if i wanted to get this game because it look like gba graphic and there were other game that use 3D graphic like Super Mario 64 and Animal Crossing: Wild World. But i decided to took the risk of getting this game. To my surprise and expection, my instinct was right, this game is beyond boring. So maybe i don't like challenge, but this type of challenge is just dumb. So you have infantry, tank, planes, and ship and you battle it out on a small board with ugly terrain and expected to have fun? Are you serious? Please tell me what i'm missing here? How can you spent hours playing this game? The thing that tick me off the most is how fast the days goes by. There really nothing to this game, all you do is move and attack your turn, and wait for the next person or computer to move and attack and whoever destroy all their enemies unit or capture their HQ win. It so plain and simple and for the price it isn't even worth it. My first ds games is a disaster. I wasted $35 plus tax for this piece of crap. So do yourselve a favor and don't buy this games.

p.s i also brought Super Mario 64 and Animal Crossing: Wild World for the ds and i am having a blast playing both of them. Be sure to check my review on those games soon.

I am going to Buy the DS just for this game it looks so fun. I love Advance wars games And Allways am looking for one Of my games I lost. I can't wait to get A DS at cristmas just for this Game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

amazing, people will buy anything. with the exception of 2 screens. this is the same thing as aw1 and aw2.

multyplayer

A great thing about this game is that u can go on multiplayer with only one DS. You need to go on Versus, and how ever many people can play on the map, you change them from CPU to eitherP1, P2, P3, or P4. It is really fun having 2 vs 2 games, but evry one is human. me and my cousins have spent hours playing the game. You get to waste your friends and kick there butts. I did a pearl harbour type thing. I bombed my brothers fleet of 22 ships( 4 carriers, 3 battle ships, 3 black boats and 12 landing craft, all full) And i wasted them all. this is a must buy, even if you don't like strategy games, this is fun because all the fighting cut scenes that happen whenever you attack enemy forces or they attack you. BUY THIS GAME FOR U OR YOUR CHILDREN OK!!!!!!!!!!!!
