This is a fantastic Strategy game. Much better than Moscow to Berlin and
Rush to Berlin. Great graphics.

While it's no Company of Heroes (my current favorite WWII RTS game), it is quite good and very enjoyable. Graphics are good, though not up to COH standards. The missions were pretty hard (especially towards the end), but not impossible.

Close to perfect

Loved the game but I thought that the German Campain was short. The Allies Campain is hard and the Russians is also challenging. The only bad think is non realistic damage. In the Training Camp where you can control all units my king tiger tank hit a Russian truck but it didn't explode. Overall it is a fun game and would recomend it to anyone. Also the little movies during the missions are cool. Has good graphics and besides tanks and troops you can bomb building and divebomb tough to destroy tanks. Very Fun!!!

Good solid WW2 game

You can play the game from 3 pespectives; Soviet, American and german with a plot line for each. The graphics are good, the game paces exciting and the mechanics are good. The details are excellent. A very good game if you like WW2.

The bad part is no scenerio generator ( a basic) which makes playability limmited. There is a skermish mode and a practice mode which add some to the game.

Over all a good , entertaining game. Worth the price.

Great Game but.....

This is an awesome game and as a History Major with a passion for WWII the game even has a lot of good true info about weapons and battles. The use of the pause button is nice as well, it gives you a chance to strategize when the AI out manuevers you-- you can set up defensive positions, outflank them, etc... It's a nice addition to the standard run-and-gun. The only reason I notched it one star overall is the lack of captions. I am deaf and find it extremely frustrating when games do not have captions. By now I'd think companies have learned that captions are a necessity for cutscenes since approximately 25% of the US population is deaf or hard of hearing.

I was hoping for better

Had graphic card issues right off the bat. And by the looks of the forums, I wasnt the only one. Luckily I was able to fix mine, and pass the solution on.

Im not happy with the game, not what I was expecting for a 3 disc install. Could be easier gameplay. Possibly FPS feature.

Unimpressed

After playing Blitzkrieg{Which I love}, I'm not overly impressed with the game. The AI doesn't seem to realistic. I sat and hammered on a russian armored car with a Tiger tank and it took about 6 or 7 shots to kill it! This is not how it worked out in real life, a Tiger would kill a T-34 in one shot let alone an armor car. It seemed to be the case throughout the playing experience. Blitzkrieg was a much better game for shot to kill or game realism. Also bought version 2 and it is worse. The graphics are great and the cut scenes are ok but if you want realism I would think twice!

Great Game

This game has it all. When you were playing with toy soldiers in the sandbox this is what you were hoping for.Take the easy format for move and shoot, add all the stuff from Squad Leader and some great 3D graphics like tanks knocking over trees and buildings caving-in and you got this game.

A must have!!!

Codename: panzer is a WWII rts game that let you play as the German, Allied(American and British), and the russian in each of it three campaign. Player won't be able to build barrack and war factory like in most rts game. Instead they will control a small amount of units through a series of tactic and strategy.

Here are the pro of the game:
tank and infantry unit have stunning detail
all three campaign are quite long and are a blast to play
your infantry unit actually play a vital role in this game

and the cons of the game:
skirmish mode is limited
more unit to command would be better
can't zoom in all the way
Population cap only reach up to 25 units
pathfinding problem still exist
where are the unit scatter mode?
tanks and infantry take way too many shot before being kill
cutscene are below expectation

Futhermore if you are a WWII junkies or anyone who just like to play rts game without the hassle of micromanagement, then this game is a must have to your collection. So, go out and buy it now!!!
