stretch your brain

When I ordered this Scrabble game to give as a gift, I already owned one. I play on-line with a friend in Canada and some games go on for days because we are both busy people. We absolutely love this game and wish more young people would try it. Much better for your brain than all those violent games that are available.

addictive game

As a life-long Scrabble enthusiast, I had a hard time breaking away from this game. I loved being challenged by the Expert computer level, of which I beat a few times and was able to beat even higher levels a time or two. I played the online version through GameSpy and that went well though it is occasionally hard to try to get someone to play with.
I recommend this game for anyone that loves Scrabble, especially for people that live alone.

I bought this for my sister as I already had the game, as does another sister(it is a family addiction). She loves it as much as I do. The makers no longer sell this so the Internet is the only place I have found it...and at a great price too. It only took about a week from when I ordered it...got it...and then sent it to her. Thanks for the great service

Great computer play

It's a lot of fun playing against the computer. I've been able to beat all the levels up to expert. The pro level is where it starts to get really tough for me. I also tried deity level (the highest). That one really whips my butt! Haha. It bingos several times each game and uses a bunch of words I've never seen! The deity level takes something like 10 to 20 seconds for each move and seems to make the absolute best move each time, and it shows! On the other levels I tried, the computer always makes its move instantly, so no waiting there. The graphics look FANTASTIC and the sounds are good too. The only problem with this game is that I can't play online with other people. I see others have had that problem too. Even so I think it's well worth buying. It's great for practicing your scrabble game. You can take all the time you want and there's no humans telling you to hurry up. All in all, this is the best scrabble playing experience I've had against computers or humans. So despite the inability to play online games, I still give it a 5. I love it.

I like playing on-line scrabble with a friend in a city that is 9 hours away (by car) I recommend it for anyone that likes the computer and also likes words games.

Hasbro's CD is sooooo much better

I received a gift card from my son and so I started looking for a scrabble game that I wanted to work better with my Windows XP. So I found the Scrabble Online from Atari. I even chose the BRAND NEW, instead of USED. I received the box yesterday, 10/2/06, promptly installed it and played most of the afternoon, trying to get used to it. The game was very unforgiving, and I could not find a way to change the default options. It would also stop and I have to click the annoying notice in front of me so I can take my turn. My complaints are many because I found the game not enjoyable.
Today I am trying to find out how to return it - who cares for this. My seller has an error on his/her email and my Comcast server won't send it.
Lesson Learned.

Atari Scrabble just okay.

I had been using the downloadable version that you pay for, which I found a lot more user-friendly. This version on CD is barely average. I'm a Scrabble nut, so I'm disappointed overall in the product.

Because of my computer's protections, I cannot host a game using GameSpy. I must wait for others to invite me to join their games. Many others using GameSpy to find players seem to have the same complaint. I wish that problem could easily be remedied.

I love playing Scrabble and bought this game for my Windows XP computer. It worked a few times, but now I have a similar problem as others have mentioned - every time I try to play this, the computer locks up with a blank screen. I can't even reboot, I have to totally shut it off and turn the power back on. I have tried to buy this game twice thinking it was defective, but still doesn't work. We have many games for the kids, and this is the ONLY one I like, and it doesn't work. I hope someone from Atari will find this out and fix the problem.

Frustrating software takes away from fun of game

I play Scrabble Online every day against the computer. I do have fun playing the actual game, but have a couple of problems that are extremely frustrating. I'd say overall that Scrabble Online is better than nothing if you have to have a computer Scrabble game. But there might be better products out there if you know where to look. (I don't.)

Problem #1: After playing a game, when I select Analyze Play, a function that is very important to me, it always brings up an old game. When I first got it, it pulled up the just-played game, but now it pulls up the same old game. I can scroll back through even earlier games, but never get to anything later than that certain old game. When I wrote to Atari technical support they told me to uninstall the game then reinstall it. I did so (using the program's own Uninstall command). It didn't solve the problem. So now I can't analyze my games.

Problem #2: The one time I tried to use Gamespy to connect with other players, it totally crashed my computer (running on Windows XP). The screen froze and I had to actually unplug the computer and plug it back in to get it to reboot. This is just intolerable. So I haven't tried it again.

National Scrabble Association - are you listening to what the people are telling you here? Can you get Atari to improve their product?
