This game (...)all it wants to do is when you scan a barcode then once you go on your computer they now what you bought and they use your name to buy stuff off the internet. Trust me this is not a game!!!!!!!!!!!! It's true! Belive me i have it and know it. I didn't know about it till my dad told me! When i went to my mailbox i didn't order a DVD player it just came to my house because of the game!!!!!!!!!!!

One major flaw!

Everything about this game is great except for the one major flaw that made me give this a rating of one star. I have bought this game for my two sons. The oldest used it first and played through it and had a great time with it (of course I needed to get a very good graphics card to make the dinosaurs look good). My other son was excited about it and started a new game for himself. Here is where the disappointment came. Most of the bar codes that we tried to scan kept saying "already scanned" and would not accept them. I looked everywhere for instructions to reset the scanner but could not find any. I finally got in touch with tech support and they said there was no way to reset the scanner. I could not believe it! Now it is hard to find bar codes around the house that was not scanned for the first game. It gets so frustrating that my son quit trying. I felt soooo bad for him but I was not going to buy another Scan Command to line the company's pockets. Was this planned? It would be perfect if you could reset the scanner. The tech support guy I talked to said it is a downfall of the product! This is such a bad flaw that it ruins the product!

Disillusioned

I recently purchased Scan Command and found it to be quite confusing to both play and download. The instructions are limited at best and don't go into detail. I was frustrated at how difficult it is to "prepare" the scanner, just to get ready to play the game, which I never got to do.

Hope It's Not Like "DNA Factor" For GBA

I truly hope that it's not like the new Gameboy Advance game called JP3:DNA Factor. From what I hear they didn't take there time making that game, so it's not really that good.

Best Kids Dinosaur Game Ever!

As a parent, I'm extremely pleased with the level of attention that the makers of this dinosaur fighting game put into minimizing violent content. Much to my delighted surprise, I found that when a dinosaur is "defeated" in battle, they do not "die" but instead walk away with their heads hung in despair. In a world of ultra violent video games, it's nice to finally see someone showing the next generation that fighting only ends in sadness.

Good game but needs better manual

This is a very good game, but make sure you read the manual on the CD in the Support/Manual folder. Don't forget to fill in the spaces for the Body and Rest functions. The scanner will time out and give you a command/DNA if you wait long enough, even if you do not scan anything.

Scanner

As much as my son and I enjoyed the graphics and game play the scanner idea was flawed. Scanning Barcodes are not nessary with the scanner. We found that running the scanner accross the computer screen was just as helpfull has trying to scan barcodes. The game is good if you have the time to mess with the scanner and getting the "codes" into it.

Jurassic Park Scan Command

The JP scan command is a fun game wit hmany "levels" and a lot of action. But the graphics aren't that good, and the instructions stink, you learn by playing. But I reccomend it to any one who likes dinosaurs, or JP.

Review from someone who's actually played the game

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 34 / 36

I've actually played this game--unlike some of the other reviewers here :-( and I think it's great. The scanner is cool and lets you play the game even when you're away from the computer. You can scan almost any barcode and get special powers. I love going into grocery stores with my scanner and just scanning everything in sight! Even boring things like flour and toothpaste can have very strong powers attached to them. You have to experiment to find the really powerful stuff and that's part of the fun.
The graphics are really great and they're much better than graphics in most kids games. The story is interesting and the levels are fun without being impossible to get through. The battles are the best part. These dinosaurs really know how to fight. And even when you beat a bad guy, he doesn't die, he just slinks away. That part is so funny to watch!
There's supposed to be some super-powers hidden in different barcodes but I haven't found one yet. I am checking in with their website every few days for updates.
