Like platform games??? Superstar Saga is one of your best buy. Full of fun for hours. Try not to use the strategy with this game. It makes it more fun to complete. Nice little comedic ending too. Go get this soon to be classic you GBA gamers!

I managed to get a pre-release copy of this a few weeks ago, and I'm about 15 hours into it. It's worth it at any price if you're a Mario fan. Make no mistake, it's an RPG.. But if you had fun with Mario RPG on SNES, I'm sure you'll positively love Mario and Luigi.
As for the game, it'll take you about an hour to get used to using the shoulder buttons to change each brother's controls. The start key changes the order of the brothers and lets you perform other moves. The brothers have to cooperate and help each other with special moves to play through the game.
You can jump onto enemies in the field, and you'll get a hit bonus going into battle. Some standard Mario physics still apply. Chain-stomp a turtle and it'll keep knocking into other enemies.
You can defend against enemy attacks ("DEF" level) but they can't defend against yours. Defending against each enemy and learning their moves becomes a mini-game in itself.
Use the "BROS." commands to have both brothers use a special battle move on the enemy. These commands level up to "Advance" level, so there's your incentive to practice them.
They crammed a few other mini-games in there too, just so you won't get bored. There's also a Multi-player version of the original Mario Bros. (an updated version of the one you've played in Mario Advance.)
Like I said, I haven't completed the game yet, but it's already worth it.
Amazing

I honestly don't know how Nintendo keeps doing it, but they've managed to make what is a relatively original game, keeping all of my favorite aspects of its predecessors, without just rehashing them.
Graphics: M&L is neither lacking nor revolutionary, it has just enough pizazz to get the job done, but there is no wow factor here. I would describe them as completely appropriate. Not too little, not too much - just right.
Sound: There are many new tunes as well as classic ones from the various Mario related games (Including the theme from Luigi's Mansion) The sound is crisp and clear, and surprisingly full for a GBA game.
Control: Control is as tight and responsive as you'd expect a Mario related game to be. The advent of using the brothers in tandem adds a good deal of variety to the way you get around in the game world. For example some platforms are too high to reach with a normal jump, so Mario has to incorporate Luigi's "High" jump to get them both onto the platform.
Story: Complete with silly scenarios and plot twists it's everything you could want from a Mario RPG game. It's not particularly riveting, but it is also not boring or superfluous. The Superstar Saga subtitle is appropriate in that there are numerous historical references to Mario's exploits in previous games. For the first time they explore how Mario's fame has extended beyond the borders of the Mushroom kingdom. There are also a few pop culture references reminscent of the Ninja Turtles and Power Rangers spoofs in Mario RPG and Paper Mario.
This game is awesome fun, and at roughly 20 hours long it's definitely a good entertainment value. You can't really go wrong buying it.
Good Game -a little tough for the younger ages

Overall this game is fun and was a good buy. I do not want to rehash what the other reviewers have written, they are pretty much right on with their assessment. But I do have to say, this game is a little too much for younger kids. My little guy (age 4) loves the nintendo characters and he can handle most platform based games, so I picked him up this game based on the reviews I read, not realizing that the game has a RPG aspect to it. I actually thought I had bought him something else, but decided to give the game a chance based on the reviews. There are too many breaks in the action and too much reading involved to hold the younger audience.

Ok, I love this game to death. All though I could use the money to buy Sonic battle or other but I wanted this game here. I played it and it remended me of a RPG but you have more options to move around. The only thing I have a problems with this game is that in is full of mini-games. Mini-games that you MUST complete in order to move on in the game. But of course if you love the bitter irony of Luigi being the Mr.Green fraidy-cat then go on and by the game. I laugh during most of the game play cause the animations remended me of some silly anime expressions. Hmm. That's nintendo for you.

Believe me when I say that I've played practically every RPG that has come out for the Gameboy Advance SP. Out of all that I've played, I've highly, highly recommended Golden Sun-Golden Sun: The Lost Age-Lunar Legend-Breath of Fire 1&2-Tactics Ogre:Knights of Lodis-Final Fantasy Tactics Advance-Fire Emblem-Advance Wars 1&2 and Demikids. I'll admit, there are more out there but too numerous to mention. At any rate, add another one to the list...Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. Although not an actual sequel to Paper Mario, this game is an absolute blast to play. The story goes something like this...An evil witch has stolen Princess Peach''s voice, replacing her fair speech with explosives! As chaos breaks out in the Mushroom Kingdom, Mario and Luigi head for the castle and meet up with Bowser, who had just arrived to kidnap the princess. When they find out what happened, these sworn enemies join forces and go beyond the borders of the Mushroom Kingdom, following the witch to a neighboring kingdom. After an aerial ambush crashes their ship and sends Bowser to who-knows-where, Mario and Luigi embark on foot, learning new moves and combining their brotherly might to fight off enemies as they venture toward the kingdom''s castle. If the witch finds the Magic Beans hidden deep within the castle, then all may already be lost. The residents of this new land prize humor and laughter above all else, so the brothers' adventure quickly takes on the tone of their humor and personality and that is where it begins.
With unique RPG elements, you can level up Mario and Luigi, increasing their stats and powers. To me what makes this game so special is its' puzzlesolving elements. Although it looks like a kiddie game, it's anything but. Even if you hate Mario and Luigi, you owe it to yourself to play this awesome RPG. You'll definitely get your money's worth as it's a long one. Course, a seasoned RPG fan will blow through this in no time. I loved it. You will, too. Here's hoping Nintendo plans another game for the Gameboy Advance SP. It's amazing.

This is my favorite Mario game. Okay, maybe a giant mess of this, Super Mario Sunshine, Mario Kart: Double Dash, and Paper Mario. Anyway, the game is fun but hard. The part where Toad walks into Mario Mario and Luigi Mario's house is funny. The ability to control the Mario Bros. together is cool, and I can play it on the GBASP anywhere! I would have given it 5 stars, but the game is too hard and there is no health meter for the baddies to let you know when they're gonna die; you just have to keep attacking until they go down.
one of the Best GBA games I own!

Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga is probably the coolest game I play on my GBA. Well, this and some other Super Mario games. (Super Mario just ROCKS, doesn't it?) Basically, the storyline is that Princess Peach's voice is stolen and you have to go fight off the evil Cackletta and her humorous sidekick Fawful. In between the beginning and the final battle there are tons of other fun (and usually not frustratingly impossible) bosses to fight, and cool places to explore. Different from any of the other Super Mario games! I would reccommend this to anyone who is a fan of a good RPG!
